The best restaurants serving British food in Letchworth South West North Hertfordshire East of England

I go here regularly with my son and my Mum/his Nanny. Dena always gives the best service be it busy or not. She ALWAYS remembers your preference of drinks and will check this is what you're having before making it. The food she makes is tasty and reasonably priced,....and always has a great selection of sweet treats. Nothing is ever to much for her and we love it. Keep doing what you're doing Dena, as it really works!

This is an inexpensive fast food restaurant, busy at breakfast and lunchtimes with friendly helpful staff and family owned Food comes in literally a few minutes and is always perfectly cooked.

The food was great, the company was great, the staff were great, the price was great. The only problem was that they kept opening the fire exist and letting the winter in. We could have done without that.

Service pleasant and drinks good, but on this occasion, we were really disappointed with the food. Portion sizes have shrunk significantly whilst prices have gone up a lot. Tapas used to be a really good option bht probably won't bother again. The worst was sweetcorn and cheddar fritters, which were burnt and inedible, and had to send them back. Whilst I stress, there were no quibbles about this, and replacement was fine, this wasnt the best experience, and having been to a few lounges, including this one quite a few times, its not what we've come to expect. Will think twice before coming back.

The hotel is conveniently located just off the A1, but what Booking.com doesn't mention is that it's currently undergoing a refurb, set to be completed by mid-2025. At £228 for two midweek nights (excluding breakfast but with free parking), the hotel falls short of expectations. Stepping into the room quickly dispels any optimism—outdated furnishings, worn carpets, aged curtains, and a tired bathroom make it feel well past its best. For the price, it doesn’t offer good value, and once the refurb is complete, prices are likely to rise further. ✅ Good location ❌ Outdated rooms ✅ Friendly staff ❌ Poor value for money
