Cultivo lounge in North Hertfordshire

Service pleasant and drinks good, but on this occasion, we were really disappointed with the food. Portion sizes have shrunk significantly whilst prices have gone up a lot. Tapas used to be a really good option bht probably won't bother again. The worst was sweetcorn and cheddar fritters, which were burnt and inedible, and had to send them back. Whilst I stress, there were no quibbles about this, and replacement was fine, this wasnt the best experience, and having been to a few lounges, including this one quite a few times, its not what we've come to expect. Will think twice before coming back.

I do love this place and the staff are generally quite helpful. I quite like the old furniture as well. It's different. Menu is not the cheapest, but there's a good selection and as I'm gluten free, I was quite surprised by the choice,which is why I am a repeat customer. The only thing I don't like (which I gave less stars for) is the fact they let dogs in. Apart from being extremely allergic to dogs. I also really don't like them, they scare me and owners don't seem to care about thier dog and the people they interact with. If I see a dog inside,I dont enter.

Staff made a few mistakes,but soon made it right..food was lovely but far to expensive. Gluton free shouldn't have to be made to order separately at the bar..very small portions.

Nice little chill out here on Thursday afternoon with my dog whilst waiting for my car to go through it's MOT. Big shout out to Becky; lovely lass and definitely in Benji's good books thanks to the sausage she brought over for him! Will be visiting again.

Food is good, coffee is good, the only thing to fault is that they need to clean a bit more, like cutlery, glasses...

We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 children) arrived and were told to wait until a table was ready. After over 15 minutes, we politely asked for an update but were met with vague responses and told it would be "just a few more minutes." It became clear that they had no intention of seating us or simply didn't want our business. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and frustrating, so we left. We won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it for families seeking a pleasant dining experience.

Would like to add met my friend for a belated birthday lunch monday met by lovely Becky with a big smile excelkent customer service and from ladies that came over to check everything ok we get thoroughly spoilt made to feel so welcome we love the staff and the food and the atmosphere thank you for making our day. Although not been for a while popped in bank holiday Sunday on my own and was made to feel very welcome by Paige thank you I don't like going out on my own in evening much but fed up staying in but I felt comfortable good atmosphere not intimidating food was good great service love the decor will be back 🙂

Have to wait at the door (as per the sign) despite being 90% empty. This took over 5 mins as every member of staff tries to avoid eye contact and pretend that you are there. Ask for a table which needs to be cleared. Waitress decides that only half cleared is fine. Go to the bar to order hot drinks from a rather unenthusiastic member of staff. Waited 20 minutes before chasing only to be told they had forgotten. No worries just another 7-8 minutes wait. You could forgive them if they were busy but there were at least 5 floor staff and only around 15 tables. One member of staff to 3 tables isn't difficult. Staff are either untrained, unmanaged or both. Sofas are well overdue replacement being collapsed. Would love to love this place but it's terrible.

The food, atmosphere and vibe was amazing, but it was ruined by one server, who slammed our drinks down in a rude manner, left a piping hot plate at the edge of the table, so I had to reach for it, pick it up, and burn my fingers, and just generally make me feeling unwelcome. So rude!

Once again another family meal ruined in the restaurant by dogs why do they allow dogs in a food place . Our baby was terrified as the barking inside of a misbehaved dog . This happens most times we eat there

Food wasn’t good. Pizzas off the kids menu were rancid. Like soggy cardboard (cold as well) . My children (7 and 9) refused to eat them. One of them had squashed peas on the back. (?!) - ended up giving them my lounge burger (also tepid) which just about passed as food. Had a bad experience here before, but decided to give it another try. Won’t be doing it again. Avoid.

Staff weren't very attentive, was very noisy, and the children's pizza was a soggy microwaved one, but my nasi goreng was delicious

Nearly nailed it but the tables are always dirty and the loo roll dispensers are the worst. It is stupidly expensive but the occasional visit won't hurt too much.

Food is always good, staff always friendly and helpful - perfect for a chilled afternoon/evening with family or friends.

I ordered a chicken meal, and it arrived burnt and dried out—completely inedible. I won't be returning after such a disappointing experience.

Went for a dinner with my partner. Got lucky to get a table straight away as place was really busy and omg what a gem! Really nice atmosphere with all the Christmas decorations, delicious food and cocktails. I had the festive chicken burger and it was just perfect. Lovely waitresses, everyone with a smile. Definitely gonna be back when we’re in the area! Shame we don’t live nearby.

My go to venue for coffee, food, drinks etc A friendly place with cool decor, tasty food, and a great team. Cannot praise it enough 🥰

We've visited a few times over the past few years. Dinner tonight. We ordered the Bang bang chicken which the menu said was served with noodles, pak choi, tenderstem broccoli, sugar snap peas. What turned up was a couple of pieces of over cooked chicken, dried up noodles, a few slivers of grated carrot and some miniscule slivers of pak choi leaves. No broccoli, sugar snaps, and a portion size barely big enough to constitute a starter rather than a £15.50 main. Staff attitude was not particularly apologetic and the only compensation offered was a free drink which we didn't want. As you have to pay up front I didn't feel able to make any more fuss without spoiling our family evening. Rest of the food was fine. Poor value for money.

It has a good atmosphere, and the food and service was good. Seems pricey, but I'm probably naive to average eatery costs these days. Quite noisy, but maybe this is the trade off of being popular. It would, however, be in my top 3 of places to go for, for a meal with friends, or as a couple.

The food here is perpetually disgusting. I say I won't go back. There's not much choice in Letchworth, so I go every 3 months or so. Always disgusting food. Cheesy fries are always burnt to the point they're black and the cheese is rock hard. The Sundea is half a scoop of nearly melted ice cream with half a glass of whipped cream, for £8. The mac n cheese is more like a soup. The burgers make you gag.

Oh dear. Bit of an issue here. Arrived Sunday morning about 11am. Sign at the front said wait to be seated. Lots of seats available. Not that busy. Waited and waited and waited.............. After about 5 minutes a lady asked if we had allergies and had been before..........Why ? They ask you that when you order.... My wife pointed to a corner (as we had dogs) and we sat down. Due to our niece wanting something without cheese I had to go to the bar to order. 3 people in front so around 8 minute wait. Ordered plus 2 coffees and a lemonade. Was told it would be up to 10 minutes to get the coffee as it was very busy. I looked around and it was less than 50% capacity. It was busy at the barista because they have a machine that 3 people could utilise at the same time but only had one girl working it. She then put the orders on a tray and instruct the waitress where to take them. So they sit there until the waitress comes back. Ordered 2 lounge muffins. After 12-15 mins the order came. Same time as the coffees. Watched the kitchen. Order is placed out and bell rung. It sits there until the waitress comes and collects it. In our case it seems it sat a while. When it arrived the eggs and bacon were cold. Matched the luke warm coffee. Prices are excessive for what you receive. The Hitchin chain fares slightly better but some serious time management needed here. Also they need 5 more staff at a minimum. Put 2 or 3 people on the barista. Get the coffees out fast. Get more waitresses so food doesn't go cold at the kitchen serving hatch. Have someone assigned to getting people to tables so they don't stand looking at a half full room wondering why they have to wait 10 minutes. Basic stuff that makes a huge difference.

Really like this place. For the price, the food is great and a good selection of drinks. Staff are always really friendly and it's helpful to be able to bring the dogs too.

Absolutely love this cafe/bar, I must admit I’ve only ever eaten here and every time the food is quality and will always return and preach it’s the best cafe in the area

Waited for 40 mins for our meals and arrived almost cold to eat. Small portions as well, taste nothing special.

Went for a meal here, and the place was quiet. And after hearing positive things about this place. I must say I was very disappointed, more so because it's just attention to detail that would make a 3 start review a 5. Minor points regarding food, butter a full slice of toast not just the middle, and learn how to poach and egg properly. But my biggest disappointment was the customer service. Forgetting things instantly and no courtesy check during the meal. And when approached treated like you have just interrupted an important board meeting

Disgusting. The bar was crawling with flies and insects. I filmed it because I was genuinely shocked staff were ignoring it?! We had just ordered food, so I didn't show my video to my family at the time (as they would have walked out). Thankfully, the food looked ok, but I was worried the whole time as the place felt like it needed a deep clean. Tables, chairs and obviously the bar!!

Great selection for brunch. The corn fritters were amazing. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Drinks and food arrived very quickly. We will come again

Cultivo is very family friendly. The thai coconut prawn noodles are delicious and the staff are lovely.

Oh wow... Fantastic range of food to suit every taste (just as well with my lot..!). Really well prepared. The staff are so helpful and pleasant, making it a great family occasion. Wonderful quirky decor too.

Really good food, vegan and veggie options are great. nice atmosphere. Very welcoming for children of all ages. Table activities available for kids, and a small play area under the stairs. My children love it here. Staff are always welcoming, kind and smiling. Makes a difference compared to most places in Kettering. 😁

First time coming here with my family, we entered as it looked very different to most cafés we've been to. The food was very good and the staff very friendly and always smiling. They had a variety of choices of food for all ages. Very spacious, with lots of areas to sit, from traditional tables to sofas. Would highly recommend to anyone who visits Letchworth

Nice comfortable and spacious place. Friendly service although pricey. £10.50 for the fish finger sandwich which was fairly basic.

Great place for a party with family or friends

As a regular visitor to cultivo lounge I can definitely recommend them for anything from a coffee to full evening meal. Great with food allergies and plenty of choice.

16/06/2024: Came in for Fathers Day Breakfast. Got a table straight away but hadn't been cleaned from previous diners. Service much better than previous visit and the table staff were great. Really good Latte and a cumberland sausage sandwich, touch more expensive than some places but good value. Quick and easy to order via the app QR code. First time here and was looking forward to it. We didn't have a booking but got in after a short wait. Ordered via the App, all quick and easy but then waited and waited and waited. 40 minutes in we were told there was a 45 minutes wait but still waited longer. Nearly an hour for a breakfast and a burger! Food was good but one teaspoon of coleslaw! Come on guys you can do better than that. Otherwise pretty good without being outstanding.

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my recent experience at your bar on the evening of 10/06/24. Last Saturday night, my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at your bar. We enjoyed a fantastic classic cocktail prepared by one of your team members ladies. Because of that great experience, we decided to return tonight for the same drink. Unfortunately, this time was quite disappointing. When we arrived, we were greeted by a bartender who was unfriendly and aggressive name is ''Tim Tim''?. We asked for the same cocktail we had last time, but what we received was far from the quality we expected. When we politely mentioned our dissatisfaction and asked for a new cocktail, the bartender ''Tim Tim''? responded arrogantly, saying, "You expect me to change these cocktails." We were shocked to see the bartender ''Tim Tim''? pour one of the drinks on the floor before making another one with clear disdain. The new cocktail was carelessly served, with half of it spilling onto the table. To make matters worse, it was alcohol-free, which was not what we ordered. Feeling frustrated, we spoke to another staff member ''Millie'' about our complaint. Thankfully, this person was very professional and polite, and they prepared and brought a much better cocktail to our table. While we appreciate the effort made by the second staff member, our initial experience was very disappointing. We came to your bar hoping to enjoy a nice after-dinner drink, but instead, we faced rude behaviour and poor service. I hope you will address this issue and ensure that such behaviour is not repeated. We believe your bar can maintain the high standards that initially attracted us.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff always

I have become a big fan of the whole Lounge experience (and not just because it originated in my home city of Bristol twenty-odd years ago). I felt this Lounge was a little too big and open-plan, losing that quirkiness of some of our more local ones, and while the service was efficient and friendly, I'm not sure the food was quite up to the standard of some other Lounges we have visited.

No beer so had to go some where else

Cultivo lounge is really nice. It's got a good atmosphere, it's fairly priced and always found the staff really friendly. There is a car park near by, or if you are going in an evening you may be lucky enough to get a free street parking place outside.

Great place for a quick coffee, very quiet, but it was a sunny Sunday afternoon. Great that you can order from the table, not that there was any queue at the bar.

We always love a trip to Cultivo. It feels a bit like portions are smaller these days, but that seems to be happening everywhere. Our little boy always loves the colouring in sheet.

Food expensive and low standard. 55c food. I would like to point out that the food quality is hit and miss here. It's a shame cos apart from it being an incredibly loud venue the rest is usually perfect. Sometimes it's below par .Staff lovely. Company did contact me.

The tables were on the sticky side but we turned a blind eye as they were fairly busy, and the staff were friendly, helpful and service was fast. Sadly, we found the rest of the experience did not live up to expectation. The carrot cake was sad and seemed old. The Panini was also on the stale side. The tea cups were dirty. Perhaps we got them on a bad day.

Great place for a quick meal out with a huge choice for all dietary types. I don't know anywhere else that has such a great menu for all of the different dietary requirements!

Was a favourite place. Atmosphere and service still pretty good but prices and portion size have risen and shrunk. Probably ok for a coffee and cake now but sadly not worth it for a meal anymore.

We were a group of 7 having a birthday celebration. The staff (especially Cameron) were fantastic - friendly and efficient. Food was nice, cocktails on special offer and the lounge had a wonderful atmosphere. Will definitely be returning !

I chose this place as my friend is vegan and the vegan menu made her eyes pop, she has never had so much choice. I liked the fact that even though it was brunch all food was available. The staff are really lovely. The food is great, tasty and lovely. NB for bigger appitites like mine, lots of the portions are small (except the burgers) The cocktails were great, I had a frozen margarita and it had a decent amount of alcohol and was a good size Definitly going back

Always have a good time here. Whether its a last minute lunch decision, family dinner or evening cocktails, Cultivo is always a winner. Great they allow dogs as very few places do.

Decent food and a good casual ambiance but can occasionally feel quite stuffy inside.

The staff was rude and unattentive. The chips were burnt and very small in portions. I Won't recommend it all.

Inevitably I end up in Cultivo Lounge whenever I come to Letchworth. It's good food with a nice atmosphere and it's a big place so I've never struggled to get seated.

We ordered Bang Bang chicken and Buttermilk fried chicken as mains. Both were overly done and burnt. We found the chicken dry. The drinks too were pathetic. We had to wait for more than one hour to be served (literally). They also had left their back door open, allowing the cold air in. We had travelled for 35 minutes to experience this appalling service. Truly dissapointed.

First time going to this place as I've passed it many times and wanted to try it out, honestly I got mixed feelings. The staff is super friendly, helpful and quickly sort if a mistake happens. The drinks we ordered came quickly, but the food we had to wait almost an hour for, and I'm not sure if it's because of how many people were visiting when we were there, or if it's the kitchen staff taking their time. The fries are really nice, but the burgers were a bit to greasy in my opinion. I'm sure this is a great place to go with friends for a pint, as they do come within 10 minutes of ordering.

Lovely food and the staff were great with children. Went with my two year old grandson who also enjoyed his food.

Second time we’ve come here from south wales friendly staff food really tasty would definitely be back again,they cater for vegan vegetarians gluten free and also dogs are welcome, very spacious so plenty of room for prams and wheelchairs, atmosphere is relaxed with a little book corner and sofas to to sit relax and chill with friends and family,

Food is well cooked and service is polite and efficient (especially considering how busy this place always is) but was served on cold plates so the food was barely warm when it arrived. A hot plate can make a big difference.

I love the lounges! I’ve been in several now and the atmosphere and food is always the same, that is, they are great!

Good value food, friendly staff

Love coming here, always busy and at times the food can be slow, but it's worth the wait. And, if like me, you're chatting to your friends, you don't notice the time so much!

Lovely place to meet up with friends or family or just a meeting place In general. Staff are great always welcoming when you enter the building. Great atmosphere.
