The best restaurants serving British food in Shenley Hertsmere East of England

The is a locals pub with a friendly atmosphere that extended to visitors like me. A lovely pub setting good food. The house beer "Black Horse" was served to perfection

Turned up with a bunch of other cyclists and had hot drinks provided in record time, and hot food very soon afterwards, all with good service and good prices. We had outdoor seating, bikes visible at all times and will return again

Roast dinner came out cold, returned it and was back out in one minute microwaved. The tiniest steak and chips for over £30 however was nice. Tables piled up with dishes people clearing themselves. Staff standing around behind the bar. Such a shame as gorgeous open fire it looked so cozy. Won’t be back. Been hit and miss over the years. Definitely miss currently.

We had an incredible evening at the White Horse Shenley this evening. Thank you to our waitress Jolie and chefs Marian and Chen. Food and service outstanding. Most of all on leaving my car failed to start despite several attempts. We were invited to wait inside despite the staff wanting to finish up after a very busy service A big shout out to everyone for helping us out, offering to make hot drinks and just being there. A huge thank you for getting us out of the rain into the dry.

I ordered a foot long Italian with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and mayo. Given a tiny amount of lettuce and two slices of tomato, had to ask for more tomato and was given an extra slice!. Ridiculous for nearly £7 with no extra's.
