Just under £32 for one cup of tea and two Welsh rarebit, which was one slice of half burnt half undercooked bread, tasteless cheese and a just ok accompanying salad each, in my view constitutes pretty poor value for money, would not go again tbh.

This lovely tea room has indoor seating but also has seats outdoors at the back looking onto the cathedral. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Our food was freshly prepared and tasty. Would definitely go back.

What a gem; this place is amazing as are the super staff. Beer drinkers heaven with well over 100 to chose from in bottles and cans plus some great draught beers. Come here every year around my birthday and never fail to be made very welcome. Heartily recommend paying this place a visit and its only 150m from Ely Cathedral.

CASH ONLY PLACE. Everything super nice, except that the back room was lacking fresh air, so the smell and air felt really heavy. Apart from that, the service was prompt and the portion massive for the money. If you are two adults, easily can get one big cod and chips and share.

Well, I’d give zero stars if I could. For what you get, you’re better off getting a microwave tv dinner which is so disappointing as we have been before and it was amazing!!! The menu is very dated, which I can see is part of the yesteryear charm, but the standard of ingredients and cooking is really poor for the price you pay. The starters had gristle and bone in them to an unreasonable level. The gravy with the beef was watery, the meat was chewy and the fish was overcooked to be too dry. I’m sure no one but forethought and planning are to blame, but the roast meat was served with boiled new potatoes as roast potatoes had run out by 7pm on a weekend. The waiter was a cheerful boy, but showed little flare for decent service, and took almost full plates back to the kitchen. No one asked how our meal was, and when we tried to speak to someone, they were all in the kitchen. I had hoped this was a random series of unfortunate events on a night without usual staff, but it appears a new normal having looked at other reviews. Such a shame for a historically lovely establishment with a beautiful location and lovely setting.

Has always been overpriced for what is a very average pub. Paid an eye-watering £7 for a pint of lager. I have never seen a pint start with the number 7 in any establishment in the entire country. Bit of a joke really.
