The red lion is a charming little bar, I went in for food but wait time was 30mins + at noon. Can only mean good things right. Nice friendly, mother's came in with their young children which normally owners don't like. But not this bar, got them their juice and they fell into place. Usual characters, although I been in America, Pennsylvania for 17 years so I am used to beer. I tried a new craft beer to me, tasted the citrus/lemon flavor which is good, it was what I would call, half of half, wasn't nearly buzzed as I should be. This was after I had a soco first, the ate the cheese n onion chips (crisps to the locals first). Craft beer normally stronger but it isn't just this bar. They called me 6 beers Chris, here it be 12 beer Chris, it's about half as strong the same beer would be in my last bar. I know it's 90% water 5% alch no matter where you go. But 5% of what? Everything is recycled in England and I am starting to suspect beer to I am sorry to say. Steel bottle caps are not pure steel, glass only has 22 glass. I stood my ground. Enough details beyond the staff control. The bar is great, the staff were good, bar reminded me of the eagles landed. It was really good. (Yes,I can hear blinks ;) )

My husband and I recently celebrated belatedly our Golden Wedding Anniversary with High Tea at Co Coes, Strattons. The High Tea was delicious and very well presented. The ambience of Co Coes was just great for a small gathering and the staff were very attentive and so helpful. All in all it was a lovely memorable occasion.

As we had to head several nice meals last year decided to try again as it has new owners. The only word describing this Sunday lunch was straight from the freezer packet from Tesco’s, Gravy was so thick I wouldn’t try it. Carrots and parsnips tiny fingers parsnips rock hard.To make matters worse, if that were possible everything was tepid. The pleasant lady who served us, after I complained was very sweet and said the chefs were away so the family were cooking. I know where the 2” circumference batter puddings came from purely by looking. Another couple who arrived a little after us sent their food back. I will not try it again as there are plenty of places to eat.

Disappointed they don’t have gluten free food being coeliac I have to be careful all I could have was coffee. A pre-packed sandwich would have been nice even if there wasn’t any cooked food available due to cross contamination. It’s nice they cater for vegans and vegetarians but it’s a shame they don’t cater for people with food allergies and coeliacs disease.

My mother was having "Care meals" from the White Heart. The abruptly stopped. One phone call two weeks ago to say they were having electric problem and couldn't deliver that night. Nothing delivered the following night. I called the next day and was told they were having supply issues and should be up and running again after the weekend. She has not had a delivery since. Their phone goes unanswered and the building is locked up. Searching on line I have found that the premises are up for sale. Appalling treatment of the elderly and vulnerable. Leaving them high and dry and out of pocket. Where do they go to get money back?
