Pub muy agradable. Gran ambiente. Fuimos con unos amigos y conocí a algunos amigos más para mi cumpleaños. Los dueños son gay pero muy amable y te hacen sentir bienvenido. Se lo recomendaría a cualquiera que vaya allí para beber.

It took nearly an hour for our food to arrive, my steak was overcooked, and my meal was missing an element. My fiancé's burger was likewise overcooked and dry. There was no Guinness, hob goblin or doombar on the premises either. Only larger was available. After having a chat with who I assume is the manager, we were told that there was only one member of staff in the kitchen, others had called in sick. We were offered a free desert, which, since we are extremely hungry by now, we have ordered, hopefully this will not take a further hour to arrive, we will see. Usually the food and service is great, but sadly not today. I suggest you check the staffing and refreshments levels prior to being seated.

Called in for the first time after a visit to the nearby Arboretum..pub was pretty quiet but was cosy & welcoming..we had a lovely lunch followed by coffees in comfy armchairs by the fire. The chef came out & chatted to us for a while & the landlady was so friendly too..this venue is just what you hope for when you visit a country pub & I’m sure we will be back!

Stayed two nights a the SOL lovely room very clean and comfortable. Had a delicious dinner the first evening. Breakfast on both mornings was really good. During our stay the proprietor and staff could not do enough for us to make our stay enjoyable.

We drove over after a long hiatus - and very little has changed. The staff are uniformly polite and efficient - especially the lovely lady in the restaurant (originally from The Wirral) who I enjoyed a conversation with as she busily wiped tables. We went for coffee, ended up having a very well cooked lunch. Easy to negotiate around even with the Christmas goods appearing - not sure how I'd cope in my wheelchair though. For instance, the price list for cards was tacked up very high behind the top tier - I did mention this to a staff member who said she would 'do something about it' - I would hope so. And I would also hope that in time - a separate loo specifically for disabled customers (Radar key opening) that doesn't have to be shared with nappy changing facilities. Confined spaces and wheelchairs are not a happy mix. With so much investment in a new aquatic section - maybe some could be spared to improve that unsatisfactory situation? After all, you'd seldom see a fish using a mobility aid...... Downside - a lack of parking for the disabled - Over 60's day attracts a lot of customers who are less able - and the selfish idiots who choose to park over the lines thus taking up two valuable spaces. Perhaps the store could invest in a 'tannoy' system so that such people could receive a none too discreet reminder?
