Another fabulous dinner at the Monk. Great service very interesting and eclectic wine list. With something to please everyone. My venison was amazing as was the pork. Sadly we had no room for dessert but the table next to us had no such problem. Can’t wait to see you at Christmas.

My most favourite little deli! Have been coming here for 11+ years and have never left disappointed. The food is fantastic and whenever I take people there (generally grabbing lunch with a colleague) they're always impressed with the quality of the food. Personal favourites are the brie and bacon baguette and THE WORLDS BEST lemon cheesecake (chefs kiss). Only slight criticisms would be the place gets so busy it can mean can't always eat in (shows how good the place is) and they're closed on a Monday which tends to be the day I work in the office so can't always nip in to the best deli in Leicestershire.

The staff were amazing, welcoming, efficient and a true asset. Special mention to Tom and the lady who served us (sorry didn't ask your name!). A large party in but didn't feel neglected at all. The chef came out to ask if food was OK and happy to confirm it was delicious, especially the cauliflower cheese!! Sunday lunch served hot and with extra gravy if desired. Weather atrocious so can't wait to return on a sunny day 😎 😍.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Hot chocolate was perfect, good froth and very chocolatey. Fry up was good, alternative food choices offered when I explained I did not want certain items.

First impressions; No table cloth! Drab room! Receptionist was also waitress! Tea was served in horrid white chunky cups. Afternoon tea on a chunky tiered plates...tiny scones on top with pre packed clotted cream...not even in a dish. Sandwiches were filled with what tasted like sandwich fillings and cheap ham. There was no finesse....we thought it was a bit like Fawlty Towers....and expected John Cleese to appear! It was great to be with friends who could all laugh at it! Won't be going back for seconds! It wasn't even well presented... We had a knife and had to use our tea spoons to serve jam!
