Staff were really friendly and helpful. Hot chocolate was perfect, good froth and very chocolatey. Fry up was good, alternative food choices offered when I explained I did not want certain items.

A very small cafe that smells of grease when you walk in and you smell of it when you walk out. Food all cooked together so vegetarian option wasn't really vegetation as cooked on same hot plate as meat. So wasn't happy and didn't eat it. Very cheap but not chearful. No milk alternatives either. Will not return.

A lovely little place to grab breakfast or lunch, cobs are filled right up and the breakfast box too has plenty in certainly gets you through the day. there's plenty of choice on the menu, can get quite busy but plenty of space outside to socially distance whilst you wait. Staff are very friendly and a joy to speak to through this pandemic. They even do a children's bag with colouring book and crayons. Definitely worth a stop whilst out and about on your daily walk.

Open during COVID, the cafe makes a change from home cooked food and with the addition now of the rib-eye baguette to the menu, I'm now a regular. Charming staff and a warm service, observing social distancing and ensuring customer satisfaction.

This is my idea of a traditional British Cafe. The staff are very friendly and helpful and this makes for a nice friendly atmosphere. The cooked food is excellent and they provide a wide range of hot and cold sandwiches or rolls. All freshly made and of first class quality. The prices are very reasonable and the menu is quite comprehensive. I thoroughly recommend this cafe.

A great place for brunch or lunch. The cafe offers a range of freshly made sandwiches, paninis, cobs, as well as cakes. The portions are generous - my cup of tea was so big you could swim in it! I had a cob and tea for under £5 - which I felt was really good value. The staff were welcoming - and service was quick. It has comfy tables inside and outside seating as well, with a water bowl for dogs.

Truly the best crusty cobs we’ve ever had and we will be repeat customers! All the food/drink prices are very reasonable and we look forward to working our way through the menu :)

My wife and I have popped in here several times for a breakfast or a panini. We have always been served by friendly staff and have enjoyed the food. They have some tables outside, which is a bonus, so that I can enjoy a cigarette and watch the world go by for a few minutes.....

Went in for lunch and decided to have the large breakfast for £7.50. I was skeptical paying that much, bu itt was definitely large and very tasty as well, so well worth the money! (You can also get a smaller full english for £4.50) It's all you'd want in a fry up with great service to go with it! They do a range of other foods too, ranging from sandwiches to breakfast cobs to cakes which looked really nice! Will definitely go back when I get the urge for a fry up!

In 2018 it is hard to find a cafe that doesn't cater in some way for vegans. Even if it is just providing almond milk. But the Buttermarket cafe went one step backwards, it suggested that things with milk in didn't contain milk. It has no milk free margarine/butter, milk alternatives, vegan sandwich fillings, cakes, fillings, nothing. I wasn't sure if it was ignorance or just lack of interest, but whatever it was, if you're a vegan or dairy intolerant, avoid this cafe. You won't even be able to have a cup of tea.

Nice location right next to the iconic buttermarket in Mountsorrel. Friendly staff and nice decor make for a pleasant and relaxing coffee break... Nice breakfast stuff plus cakes and snacks too.

We have used this café for the last three years when we collect our granddaughter from the nursery next door. It's not large and is often crowded but then the best places always are. The menu is surprisingly varied considering the limited equipment in the kitchen. The food is of good quality and served quickly and politely. An extra effort is made by providing materials to amuse children and we expect to continue patronising them for a while yet, now that our grandson has arrived on the scene.

Lovely little cafe! Popped in for a cuppa tea and a bacon cob. One of the best I've tasted for a while, and the tea comes in a nice big mug. Spot on!

With half an hour to spare early this morning while waiting for the barber's to open I wandered into the Buttermarket Cafe and received a cheerful welcome from the lady behind the counter. Fancying a change from the flat whites and mochas I usually request when visiting branches of the big coffee chains, I rather hesitatingly opted for the lady's recommendation that I try her filter coffee. To my surprise it was rather good - strong enough to appreciate that it had a decent flavour. While I was sipping away, the place began to fill up, and I was soon engaging in a bit of banter with the friendly clientele. Like many places of its type - small, cheap-and-cheerful establishments with nothing in decor or furnishings to commend them - the Buttermarket Cafe is worth visiting to experience the warmth and camaraderie of the people you find there. And remember... here you can get a decent cup of filter coffee!

No regresaré.

I pop in here once or twice a week for a Mocha - at £2 it's good value - the staff are friendly and the place is really clean Never eaten here - however the menu looks good (usual cafe menu) - and I would eat here as the food looks nice and well presented

We have lived locally for 5 years and finally popped in on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Sausages and beans on toast for the kids were fine although the sausages were the minimal-meat content kind. we had full Englishes which were hot and OK, Tinned tomatoes were an unwelcome surprise (haven't seen those on a FE plate since I ate the same in an NHS hospital back in 2002) and again the sausages were of poor quality, but the staff were nice enough and the eatery clean.

We picked the Waterbridge for my Mum's wake after it being recommended and we were not disappointed. Annette was extremely helpful from start to finish. Premises are lovely, food was absolutely great, so friendly and welcoming. They made a difficult time and day so much easier. Thankyou x

A passable Wetherspoons pub that served a purpose that morning to give us a spot to rest up and have a coffee. Totally unmemorable and unremarkable, a Wetherspoons pub that feels like it has had it's time and they've had enough. Really didn't enjoy either of the 'Spoons in Loughborough at all which is a shame. When run properly, Wetherspoons has a place in a town, sadly not in Loughborough apparently.

Sadly, whilst this location is temporarily closed, I look forward to being welcomed back to a local and convenient place to eat which serves typical menu items at affordable prices.

My daughter went in for 1 lot of chips with her bank card while I waited outside, they charged he £7 for a cone of chips , when I went in to ask them about the price they charged her they just chucked the money on the counter with not one word ! Not even an apology! The manager couldn't even speak to apologise either and was stood next to the girl who has no voice ! It's not how you run a business How many kids do they do this to ! You can't see the price on the card machine as its behind the screen facing them . Very rude staff , I will not be returning
