Hope & Anchor in Charnwood

Sadly, whilst this location is temporarily closed, I look forward to being welcomed back to a local and convenient place to eat which serves typical menu items at affordable prices.

The staff were very welcoming when we arrived and the food was really good, the whole party really enjoyed it.

The hope and anchor is a great place to go out for some quick and tasty food, staff go above and beyond to help out. would recommend this place for everyone. hope to see it up and running shortly x

I recently visited the Hope and Anchor in Leicester, and it was a cozy pub experience. The ambiance is welcoming, and the staff is friendly. I enjoyed the traditional pub fare, especially the local flavors infused into the dishes. However, I did notice some service delays during busy times. Despite that, it's still a great place to unwind with friends, savor good food, and soak in the classic British pub vibes.

Really nive family friendly pub .. we visited on a busybsunday and booked last minute after losing a table close by. They happily accommodated us party of 8 with 4 children. The service was great friendly and helpful and didn't get annoyed when the kids kept getting bit excited and stroking round. Interacted so nicley with the kids giving them some coloring to do to help us adults eat. Would definatley visit again. Lovely location too would have been nice had it been a better day as the car park had flooded slightly. Thank you to all the staff.

Went in yesterday morning with a work colleague and ordered the mega breakfast from the breakfast menu, Food came within ten minutes and was piping hot, everything was cooked well and tasted great, The two ladies who served us were very welcoming and polite, Definitely be back

This was our 2nd visit to this lovely pub, and it was great to know the staff were all still friendly and were all willing to help. I normally post on Google my reviews, but as I've already done a review on this pub/restaurant, it won't let me add another. The food was amazing, I had a steak and was cooked perfectly, and went down a treat. We were served by a great girl called Gorgie (I think) nothing was too much trouble (boss, a well done to her please) So great food and good atmosphere.

Love popping in for Saturday breakfast and great service and scrummy food as always. Was running late this week and changed our usual choice too for the burrito and it was so good. Fab service from Georgia who always has a smile (how does she do it so early every week!) and a lovely little chat. Will be back before Christmas with the family that’s for sure!

We booked in for 18:45 we arrived 10 minutes early. Went to the main bit to tell them we’re here to be shown to our table. We then get told to basically hurry up as they had booked someone else in at 8pm. We were looking to have a full meal and a few drinks but if you don’t want our service you should’ve denied the booking. Food came out the gammon was overcooked, the steak was asked to be medium rare and yet it was overcooked. The only good thing about the food was the chips and the Heinz sauce lol. Customer service is awful.

Holy moly, the jerk chicken and wings, what a fantastic lip buzzer 🌶🔥❤️ one of the tastiest meals ever . And bar staff were great 👍🏼

Food ordered was meant to have a sauce, but when asked where it was answer was they'd run out, which made the meal dry. Reasonable prices. Cheap enough for a family outing

Just came across this excellently placed pub. Sitting on the side of a lovely little river (with many canal boats parked alongside). It has a fantastic outside dining area with plenty of easy parking. Has your standard pub favourites plus a few interesting additions. But I couldn't go past the 8oz steak with a choice of 2 sides (Wednesday special = £8.00) the steak was excellent cooked med rare as I wanted. It missed out on 5 stars as there were a number of items not available but the excellent server did say they had been very busy during lunch because of the lovely weather, so a number of popular items had just sold out. Which I can understand as it is a lovely place to sit outside for a meal. I will be going back!

Great location pub staff and food at a good price too

Unfortunately half the tables were reserved for later on so there was no indoor seating and the vegetarian choice was very limited with key items such as veg burger and veg lasagne not available - extremely disappointing as made a special effort to visit due to the location.

This pub is by the canal and in an excellent position with a play area for kids. The food is nice, very cheaply priced and often with offers. Service warm and friendly. Update: Breakfast in the sun this time, very 👍 Update: some menu changes, still great staff and excellent value 👌

Didn't have any stock of the offer wine, staff reaction when asked if the food was alright, I said it was ok and she said why what's wrong with it......bad management and organizational failure

Good pub grub in nice surroundings but could do with renovating inside and out.

Food was hit and served quickly. Five of us enjoyed the food. The sixth was a jacket potato with salad and coleslaw. No coleslaw so requested cheese. The potatoes was so small and the cheese melted on top instead of being on side. It was also served with its own side salad which wasn't stated so ended up with 2 salads which were heavy in dressing which again was not stated and was horrible so couldn't be eaten. The potato was microwaved and again was awful just about enough to fill a tbsp. Came home hungry. Ordered a lime juice and tap water but so week couldn't taste the lime. The tables and menus were very sticky.

Lovely setting right by the River Soar, food is excellent. The place to go if you like really big breakfasts.

Ok pub, hungry horse brand so geared towards food. Two ales displayed (GK IPA & Abbott) but only one on (Abbot, oddly) ok quality, topped it up to get rid of the head without asking. Decent price for the pint (£3.50ish)

Table was cleaned as soon as we sat down. Meal and drinks were ordered on the app. My drink of coffee came with no spoon, or sugar or the offer of some. Not a big thing as I don't take sugar but it is for them that does... The milk came separately in a glass so pouring it was fun and the table got quite a lot of it. So had to get a spoon and cleaning cloth from bar. Had the coffee come with small milk jug & spoon as it should this could have been avoided. The food was just normal budget food, get what you pay for. I was disappointed with a side dish of scampi, we got three, now that's a joke. Staff I interacted with were very nice.

Cheap and cheerful - was perfect for post Watermead Country parkrun breakfast.

Great location, had a lovely steak here and the service was excellent from Nikki she was very polite and helpful.

Table sticky 1 meal burnt no salad cream bar staff incompetent dirty plates left on our table for 45 min until we left

I've had better meals on previous visits. No salmon, no lasagne, no ribs. 2x meals were fine but 2 were not so good. Mixed grill - sausage was cold,chicken breast luke warm , looked dry & was pale in colour -very unappetising, peas nearly raw. Crown of burgers - they were overcooked & dry. Would go again & hope for better avoiding last choice. Disappointed would describe my visit especially as it was a birthday treat.

We had a lovely stop at Hope & Anchor, served by Rob & Ethan who were so accommodating even though we arrived quite late in the evening!
