Recomiendo encarecidamente la comida del pub , el gammon que tuve fue uno de los mejores que he tenido, y buena relación calidad-precio. Mi esposa tenía el pastel de verduras con patatas fritas y realmente lo disfrutó. Porciones de buen tamaño. La Abbot Ale era de primera calidad , una pinta perfecta para mí ya que me gustó lo fría que estaba en comparación con algunos pubs que la sirven casi a temperatura ambiente. Era la primera vez que habíamos estado en la Corona desde que el nuevo propietario y la nueva casera asumieron el cargo a finales de 2024. Cuando llegamos nos dijeron que la cocina por desgracia había cerrado, sin embargo tuvimos suerte. El chef dijo que no había terminado así que fue capaz de preparar nuestras comidas. Gran servicio , por encima de todo , realmente apreciado. Con pubs luchando espero que Crown se convierta en el pub en Anstey para ir. Regresaremos desafiantemente basados en esta experiencia.

Este es un pub/restaurante local para mí y he comido aquí bajo varios propietarios diferentes y no lo he calificado en absoluto... Yo estaba presente cuando a mi madre se le sirvió literalmente hígado mohoso! (Ella tiene Crohn, así que podría haberse enfermado extremadamente)! Bajo este nuevo propietario, Colin y su compañera Erica pensé en darle el beneficio de la duda y ¡Vaya vuelta! Cuando pruebo un nuevo restaurante que sirve bistec, especialmente un pub, siempre juzgo la comida por su calidad. Si es bueno, ¡regresaré! En este caso, ¡estaré allí regularmente! Tuve los bocados de Mac para empezar y podría haber tenido esto como principal, ¡fueron impresionantes! El filete y los acompañamientos fueron cocinados a la perfección! Filete medio raro, absolutamente sin grasa ni grasa. Los tomates eran cerezas en la vid, ligeros, crujientes aros de cebolla, un hongo de campo y las patatas fritas eran crujientes y esponjosas por dentro y la mantequilla de ajo ya venía derretida! Absolutamente precioso. El precio es muy razonable y a la par con otros pubs locales también. Ya es un pub encantador con un ambiente agradable, pero aún así realmente están haciendo un esfuerzo con el lugar y puedo ver cuánto esfuerzo se está poniendo para que sea realmente especial. Ya se están haciendo obras en el precioso jardín y ha habido mejoras en el interior también, incluso el personal del bar parece ser más experimentado, profesional y amable. Brillante servicio y comida hoy ... llamado de última hora para reservar una mesa ... familia aquí de Australia ... así que servicial y servicial con comida sin gluten ... Gracias.

Fuimos a comer el martes, y la cena del domingo en ambas ocasiones el servicio y la comida eran excelentes sin duda recomendaría a cualquiera, este lugar ha tenido sus altibajos, pero el propietario y el personal han llegado al lugar, el almuerzo del domingo había un chico cantando que era muy bueno, solo pequeños toques como este hacen una gran diferencia.

Fui a Crown, Anstey por primera vez hoy para almorzar. Había estado un poco preocupado cuando reservé ya que el miembro del personal tenía que consultar a otra persona antes de aceptar la reserva. ¡No tenemos que preocuparnos! Cuando llegamos a la 1. 0 pm entendimos la duda sobre la reserva. La Corona estaba reservada para una función privada muy grande y, sin embargo, nos habían puesto lugares en una mesa tranquila y privada. La bienvenida era cálida y amable, el servicio era excelente y nos hicieron sentir que éramos las únicas personas en el lugar! La comida era buena y los extras que pedimos (un par de huevos fritos al lado y un poco de crema de ensalada vieja en lugar de salsa tártara) se suministraron con una sonrisa. Nuestro más cálido agradecimiento a Colin, Erica y su personal por una hermosa excursión en lo que debe haber sido un día muy ocupado para ellos. PS. Los precios eran muy razonables para el almuerzo y bebidas para tres de nosotros!

I've been to the Crown Inn a few times and each time was better and better. Friendly staff, great food with excellent service, a must visit for everyone.

An absolutely fantastic place, I cannot praise it highly enough. I’ve lived in this village most of my life and have watched the Crown go though plenty of highs and (very low) lows. I can easily say that the current team have got it in the best shape I’ve ever seen. The beer is great, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. Whether you’re on your own for a quick ‘alf or on it with friends, there’s a smile and a bit of banter waiting for you at the bar. A great outside space and plenty of parking - this place really does have it all. And there’s a varied calendar of events to keep things interesting!!

Un lugar absolutamente fantástico, no puedo elogiarlo lo suficiente. He vivido en este pueblo la mayor parte de mi vida y he visto a la Corona pasar por muchos altos y bajos (muy bajos). Puedo decir fácilmente que el equipo actual lo ha puesto en la mejor forma que he visto. La cerveza es genial, la comida es fantástica y el ambiente siempre es cálido y acogedor. Ya sea que estés solo por un ‘alf’ rápido o en ello con amigos, hay una sonrisa y un poco de broma esperándote en el bar. Un gran espacio exterior y un montón de aparcamiento - este lugar realmente lo tiene todo. ¡Y hay un variado calendario de eventos para mantener las cosas interesantes!

Qué joya de un pub, llamado mientras visitaba a amigos en la zona, tuvimos el asado del domingo y honestamente puedo decir que es el mejor que hemos tenido durante mucho tiempo. El personal era amable y acogedor y los propietarios Colin y Erica eran muy agradables. Recomendamos encarecidamente una visita, de hecho hemos reservado para volver de Somerset para una de las noches de entretenimiento que disfrutamos tanto. Muy recomendable

I’ve been to this place a fair few times now and it’s been exceptional everytime! service fantastic, food second to none and a great range of beers/wines. Colin and Erica have done a great job with the place, I look forward to returning with my family again soon. Can’t recommend enough! Great place 😊

Me and friends have visited a few times and each time we have been impressed with the service, food, range of drinks and prices. They have also had events on regularly like the karaoke which we all loved and couldn't resist a sing song. We will definitely be keep coming back we couldn't fault anything.

Pub is really taking off again since Colin and Erica took over and its a lovely place to go into for a drink, and the staff are all lovely and friendly.

Just had a wonderful meal , the staff were great.

It was really bad, the food was horrible the service was dead, the burger was rare and the macballs were bad, the chefs outfit was horrible horrible with his spandex didn’t look professional at all. Not good would never go there again. People should have some decently in this place.

Went for lunch on Thursday, very quite not many in there but the food was amazing, not alot on the menu as they are just sorting out the new menu, but what we had was lovely. The staff member Lauren who attended to us was lovely, shame there wasn't many eating in there, but it was a Thursday lunch, but speaking to the owner there seems to be plenty going on at weekends, definitely worth a visit

This is a pub which should be the anstey equivalent of the badgers sett in cropston but it's been blighted by it's association with drug taking and repeated changes of ownership. However, the latest owners are friendly and genuinely seem to want to make the place work, the inside is lovely, lots of snugs and also open spaces, it's also down for a refurbishment. Hopefully it will make good on it's potential

Sunday lunch was absolutely lovely. We had the choice between beef brisket, pork or turkey and between the 5 of us tried all of it, and i couldn't have hoped for better. The staff were lovely, polite and friendly, the best way to describe the food is just how mum used to make it, it was tasty, it had big portions, and came out quickly with a smile, we couldn't fault it at all.

Arrived for food and drinks. Not even to be told when ordering drinks food wasn’t available until I went up a second time. Then went into the garden and they have a run down bar outside not manned. The garden in general is not kept tidy specially for young children. Some kind of glass door left on the side awaiting a law suit or worse serious injury. To make matters worse. No atmosphere been in the past and still to find the same. Whoever the brewery and owners are sort it out. This pub is suppose to be the best in Anstey and it’s a shame as they have an enclosed garden but honestly The atmosphere is dead and the staff not very helpful. Heard they have numerous live in managers and nothing ever changes. But they post on their menu often about new menus but then can’t serve food. I mean it’s a standard day and they have no one in but that speaks for itself. And at the prices they’re charging. About 5 years ago it use to be the in pub and decent god knows what has happened since. Staff don’t even want to be there by the looks of things and how they speak. Sorry I’ve had to leave this review but honestly the pub is not giving any kinda vibe but that it needs to be closed or a massive revamp. Different pubs just outside of Anstey giving everything and much worth visiting. Overall thought don’t bother spending money in this pub which is a shame.

Visited with some friends while on a trip, we usually visit friends in the area twice a year. We go here quite often as it's only a short walk from our friends house. The menu has changed a lot over the years which has usually been fine but currently it has a "smokehouse" menu and the food was quite bland which was very surprising. The prices are quite expensive but probably normal for a small village pub and the pub is quite quiet when we visit which we enjoy and the staff are amazing! Very friendly and very helpful! We will continue to visit here as we like the atmosphere, we like the staff and we know the food can be better so this trip may have just been a blip.

Stopped here in passing. The only pub in the town that was open, served food and had a car park. Lovely well kept pub, landlady was very friendly, and the food was tasty, filling and generously portioned. We travel this route quite often so will return in the future.

It's overall a normal pub but the toilets are not great at all the floor in the toilet is covered in water the roof has got dirt and holes and it was so uncomfortable to go to the toilet and theres some dodgy people .

Fantastic Sunday lunch, choice of 5 meals, including vegetarian. Absolutely the best Sunday meal out I have ever had. Seasoned to perfection. The bar staff were very attentive, with drinks served at the table. Very accommodating. We didn't book, were warmly welcomed. In addition, we noticed there are some special deals offered on different days, and are excellent value! Definitely going back in the week to try the fish and chips! Lovely large beer garden too.

Just visited the Crown for a fish and chip lunch, superb well worth the money. 100% better than it was 12 months ago. Now under new management and well worth a visit. Will be back for more soon.

Visited this pub today. Had a lovely meal. Its useual pub grub but absolutely nothing to complain about. Pub was busier than on a previous visit. But we were looked after and I wasn't expensive. We would visit again. We want to try the Sunday roast. Maybe next week.

Ate Sunday dinner here not long ago and it was pretty good. The presentation and food quality was good, and quite tasty. The staff were friendly and efficient, though the pub itself felt a bit rundown. There is plenty of parking out back and prices were pretty average for a pub Sunday dinner.

Wasn’t the best visit. Ordered jacket potatoes which the guy at the till put through for us. Around 10/15 minutes later they let us know that they did not have jacket potatoes and we could have a sandwich instead as they didn’t know how to refund. When the food arrived we were not given any cutlery or serviettes. The area we were sat in also smelt of damp which wasn’t pleasant. The food was basic.

Such a shame the last employees were moved on as we had such lovely time round Xmas. Took family in last week and absolutely shocking service to start I ordered all four drinks and paid and also said thanks, yet the so called barman (gold knuckle ring on) didn’t say one word! No hi no thanks no what would you like not one word WOOOW!!!! On the plus side we laughed about it all way home but what a shame. Lovely pub at the bottom of our road potentially ruined. Sad 😞

I really really really wanted to like this place. It seemed like such bad nice place from the outside but I just can't give it another go. I've been in here multiple times now, just for a few beers on my own, and it just feel backwards. You have patrons constantly slagging each other off having a domestic in what is essentially an empty bar. You have sky sports on multiple tellys, playing sport commentary, but you can't hear them because the music is so loud. If it's 6.30 on a thursday at night, you don't need loud music, you need that later when the party has started. The people behind the bar (I assume they are the owners) just seem miserable a lot of the time. It's so sad, because the bar itself, looks lovely. It's decor is really nice, it's a great location for residents nearby, but it just lacks something. Nowadays people say its a place for the young adults to hang out on weekend, I darent go and confirm it though, I've tried enough times now :(

Went in for something to eat. I had the pie and my wife had the steak. The pie filling was over cooked and the mash was cold. I asked for peas and got a selection of greens that were over boiled. One was cucumber?? My wife's steak had more gristle than beef jerky. And the chips were really greasy. Never again

Lovely homely family pub. Relaxed environment, friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. We have visited here a few times over the last month and we love it! Happy to call it our new local. Thanks Rory for looking after us so well.

Had a meal here on a Friday night, good relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, food was decent and service acceptable nice little place!

Awful from the beginning. Sat down and didn’t get our order taken for at least 15 minutes… however it was Saturday night, it was busy, I get it. Drinks take another 15 minutes to come and get given to the table next to us. Left on that table for 10 minutes before they realised. Got given a jug of water for the table with no glasses. We assumed they were coming and waited for 10 minutes at least before going to the bar to ask for some. Food took over an hour to come which is fine if it’s worth the wait. It wasn’t. The burgers were nice however the dirty fries came cold so were sent back. They had obviously microwaved them because 2 minutes later they came back hot and soggy with the plastic cheese crispy. The dirty fries came with cubes of processed chicken which had seen better days. The pizza had “jerk chicken” which was grey. We had 2 slices of pizza out of 6 and potentially 4 chips. When asked if it was okay we said not really and explained the problems. We were told there was nothing wrong and basically we were making it all up. No apologies etc. She said the fries were soggy because of the sauce however some of the chips weren’t even cooked properly. The waitress went to get the chef so we could explain but 20 minutes later… no chef! We were then told that there was nothing wrong with the food that we didn’t eat but out of the goodness of their hearts they would give us the pizza and one fries free.

A lesson in how a pub should be run! Great service, competitive offers and good food.

We have just celebrated mums 88th birthday at the crown Inn,with a family Sunday lunch. 15 people in total. The food was excellent, everyone sampled something different, and no one was disappointed. Good quality and decent portions. The staff were all curtious and attentive. Will definitely be going back. Thanks everyone. ❤️

The Crown has had its ups and downs over the years with different owners so thought we would try it again today - it was a success! Nice food, nice chilled out atmosphere and friendly staff. 50% off mains was a bonus too. We all said we will definitely go again.

Was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews on here...but it was lovely...all 9 of us enjoyed the meals we chose, it has a relaxed atmosphere which in turn relaxes you, far better than going to a stuck up place, the staff were very nice too...so thank you Crown Inn you now have new customers.
