The best restaurants serving Brasserie food in South Wales

Called in on a Saturday afternoon for pre-town drinks. The service was top class, the cocktails were outstanding and the atmosphere was fantastic. The whole team was so friendly and welcoming. Really enjoyed our couple of hours and would recommend Mesen to all our friends and family - thank you again for sorting the outdoor table in the sun for us aswell. And my hat!! Josh

Absolutely top notch donner kebab, short detour off the M4 saves you from service station disappointment. Great meat, lovely fresh salad and loads of both at an excellent price and served by lovely, friendly people. We'll definitely be back here. Thanks PCG.

Ordered a small chicken shish the other night, although the food is very good and delivery is spot on i was a bit disappointed with how small the small really is....just three pieces of chicken and hardly any salad...i was left feeling still hungry. if you want value for money i would go elsewhere..

8 of us visited the restaurant. Thought it was quiet only 3 teenage girls there. .... Perhaps there was a reason ..... .......🤔 Ordered our food. Ribs .... only Two ribs on the plate mostly bone, not a lot of meat grossly overpriced at £14 and £5 for dirty fries. ( Bowl of frozen chips with a sprinkling of topping. )😱 Other food ordered was the meat platter. Again for £28 inluding 2 side dishes it was not good value as not a lot of meat. Burgers seemed ok but overpriced. 😱😱 The final nail in the coffin was being charged for several side dishes which were inclusive . When pointed out the bill was amended but no apology.😱😱😱 Only saving grace was no bar so we bought alcohol from the garage opposite. 😀 Needless to say we will not be returning.

Wow- the food is absolutely awesome and so filling , staff were very attentive and lovely atmosphere . Highly recommend a visit and will definitely be visiting again - it’s a gem of the area . Pre booking advised

Best chippy in Cardiff, in my book. I'm V lucky to live round the corner! Fresh chips. Always! Great service. Highly recommend.

We travelled from Bristol to celebrate my partner's birthday; lovely vibe but disappointing food. It was a busy Saturday night and we did not mind waiting an hour for our food. However, we were left rather underwhelmed with the duck breast dish which contained a lump of inedible gristle and was accompanied by a jacket potato which was beige inside instead of white and fluffy. This will obviously be our first and last visit to Le Monde.

Was not happy with the service I received. Staff don't know what they are doing and how to give a refund for the three breakfast we didn't receive. Manager needs to train their staff how to use the tills when taking orders and payments. Left with NO REFUND for the three breakfasts that I paid for and didn't have. Left my phone number for the manager to phone me when she came in but had NO PHONE CALL. I sent an email NO REPLY. Won't be coming back here again. Three of use left hungry. Very disappointed and was very angry leaving without my refund for the three breakfasts.😡 ADVICE DON'T GO, YOU WONT GET YOUR FOOD, BUT THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY.
