Verve Grill in Cardiff

we stayed at the hotel were the pub & grill is placed the serviece was good but when we went to the bar to order the lady kept saying this is a big order sir. the food was avrage overall nice resaunt.

During my stay at the Village hotel , I ate in this restaurant and had a very good meal . I skipped the starter but had an excellent Rissotto , cooked just right . For desert I tried the Pineapple Crumble , it was better than I imagined . The quality of the food was very good , cooked well and served by attentive staff , try it .

We visited on a Thursday evening & pre booked a table just incase, arrived at 7pm & was promptly seated - the restaurant filled up while we were there. I had the chicken lollipops & my other half had the Fritto Miso - both were amazing - the chillis, spring onions & dressing with the lollipops were delicious! The Fritto miso comprised of deep fried prawn, calamari & courgette - the batter was really light & the portion size was huge for a starter (photo attached) For mains, I had a 1/2 Lb burger which was huge, the chips (more like wedges) were cooked to perfection, my other half had the beef skewers, the beef was very tasty; 5 huge chunks of marinated beef! We orders from the main menu but they had an offer on for a Thursday - £29 for a 2 course meal with a glass of fizz for 2 which we will try one week The service was great, all staff were very friendly & chatty, I think the man who served us was Andrew - very polite! Will visit again soon!

Great food, really friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend the beef skewers, lemon cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding.

limited menu but good service. had the roast rump of lamb which was delicious. in contrast had the chicken on another night and can not recommend it. too big a portion and far too dry. when mentioned to the waitress, she said that lots of people had said the same thing. if that is so, why hasn't it been sorted?!

Very nice quality and excellent service. I nice area for a couples meal more than a family meal. I enjoyed.

As it was pouring with rain, we decided to eat in rather than to go out elsewhere. A great decision. Staff were very welcoming and, having given us enough time to decide on our choices, were back to take our orders. There is not a massive range of choices, but the food is excellent and not over priced. The hummus starter was delicious, but we shared it as there was plenty. The lamb rump and the beef stroganoff were very good and the meats were so tender. Again, very good portions. We shared a dessert too, creme brûlée, which was again delicious. The young man serving us was a credit to the hotel. He was attentive, very pleasant, very efficient but didn't rush us. We found the food to be very good value for money. The breakfast the next morning was also very good. Not as expensive as we have had had in other hotels, but just as good. We would eat here again.

Excellent food and outstanding service by Darren and slight contribution from matthew! Seriously lovely meal, good value and both boys were very helpful. Customer service at its finest! You both deserve a bonus. See you for breakfast. We will be back.

We chose this restaurant due to its close proximity to my place of work. Darren seated us and was great with my five year old daughter. He was friendly and attentive without being too much. Food arrived within a good amount of time and was very good. Kieran took over service and was equally attentive and friendly. I am very impressed with the service, especially as we were not staying in the hotel, but just visiting the restaurant. Would definitely recommend and return! My thanks to Darren and Kieran especially- I work in hospitality myself and understand how important it is for staff to be recognized.

My hubby and I shared a sharing platter ... I had 500 calorie meal of tiger prawns whole-wheat pasta and steamed broccoli it was delicious and very filling. Hubby had the ribs with slaw and fries and struggled to finish. Attentive service from Daryl a credit to the restaurant. Would highly recommend excellent price and even better service.

Whilst staying at Village hotel me and my husbad have had dinner during one of the night at Verve Grill restaurant. We went for the easy option: the burger and it was really tasty. The restaurant looks really nice and the music on the background was lovely. A very nice evning to enjoy.

I went here with a big family group. We each had three courses. The food was all presented well and tasted nice. Dinner for six came to about £250. We all enjoyed our food. Service was good as well. I had the tuna starter, the mussels main, a rocket side salad and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I liked everything, but my favorite part of the meal was the dessert. It was quite good. I would eat here again if I was staying at the hotel.

Really liked the friendliness and food at this place. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Food was no key cooked and tasty. Would like to return one day.

This is an awful place with poor choice. It's on my doorstep so we used to go there often. Earlier this year the bar maid refused to let me order just a bowl of chips for my 7 year old as 'the menu has changed'....
