Rbg Bar & Grill in Cardiff

The reviews didn’t endear me to this place, but it had been a long day travelling and I wanted something easy and convenient. My only complaint was that it took an age to get seated as the hotel was jumping and the restaurant wasn’t staffed accordingly. However, once I was seated the service was efficient (which I needed) and friendly, and the food was pretty darn good. I got a rump steak which was so succulent and I rarely say that about rump. Basic menu but it is pub grub so set your expectations at this and you’ll be fine

Walked pasó por muchos otros restaurantes y ojalá no hubiéramos fotocopiado el menú, ni siquiera nuevo ese día, una cantina de la escuela está mejor presentada, esperó una edad para que nuestras comidas fueran entregadas a la mesa, comida de buena calidad pero no suficiente, esperó 30 minutos para que se limpien los platos, quería dulce pero simplemente me cansé de esperar, tuve que pedir nuestra factura, me levanté y nunca más volví

No terminamos comiendo aquí Simplemente terrible, el menú era una hoja de papel fotocopiada que era una versión muy condensada de lo que se anuncia en su sitio web. El restaurante tiene menos ambiente que un comedor escolar, las sillas estaban tambaleantes al igual que las mesas. El personal era encantador pero no tenía respuestas a ninguna pregunta sobre el menú. Terminamos cruzando la calle hacia un lugar mucho mejor.

Permaneciendo en el Citrus Hotel al otro lado de la carretera, y lloviendo a cántaros, corrí hacia el RBG dentro del Radisson Park Inn Hotel. El menú es su tarifa estándar de pub / hotel. Pero el estándar es muy bueno. Tuve una deliciosa sopa de tomate y pimiento rojo con pan de buena calidad. Mi filete de solomillo estaba delicioso y cocinado exactamente como lo pedí, con excelentes chips de champiñones y tomate. El servicio fue agradable, y había una buena selección de bebidas. Al estar en Cardiff, ¡opté por una pinta de Brains Bitter! Ciertamente absolutamente aceptable. ¡He comido mucho peor!

Literally only 2 staff Manning both restaurant and adjoining bar. There were only 4 people dining and yet there was still a wait. Menu is very limited, unless you want a burger or a choice of 2 different kinds of steak then your out of luck. I found this odd as it markets itself as a grill. Staff were friendly and setting was ok other than that I'm at a loss as to how it has been given 5 stars!?

Segunda visita a este hotel. . Reservado debido a la ubicación, visitando la sala de conciertos enfrente Gerente muy útil. . . Al regresar del concierto, a mi compañero que es un pianista consumado no se le permitió tocar el piano. . muchos invitados se quejaron de que no se permitía tocar el piano. . Entiendo que hay huéspedes que se quedan en el hotel. . Pero la televisión en el bar es más fuerte. . ¿De qué sirve tener un piano? No se les permite a los invitados tocarlo.

I had a fantastic meal when I got here on Tuesday. Staff were brilliant.

We booked online at this place and thought we would let the crowds thin out a bit before we went home. Didn't realise first it was at The Park Inn Hotel but glad we did book there as all pubs and clubs and eating areas full. This place looks like a last minute add on bit but nice decor etc. We stated we had booked online but staff didn't have anything down. Ordered food eventually as only couple of youngsters waiting, who were very good considering (it was a Saturday night aswell). Food ok, enjoyed it and for a hotel it was priced as so. There was an accident with a nearby table where a bottle of beer fell on the floor and sprayed eveywhere therefore the supervisor / manageress Jade gave us a free drink so really nice of her

Bought an Hawaiian burgern here last night. Was unable to eat it due to the amount of chilli sauce they have added, without asking me. My friend had one earlier and no sauce was added. Waste of money, waste of time (they took ages to serve me), horrible food drenched in sauce that I could not eat. Do not recommend this place.

Without absolutely slating The Park Inn Hotel and their staff, I have to say, after attending a yearly luncheon I was absolutely appalled by the food that was served to me. Cold Turkey dinner, frozen stuffing, and mince pies. And excuses from staff about desert choices was unacceptable. For such an expensive and high end hotel, I expected much better service. This is not the first time I have experienced bad service here, and I am bitterly disappointed.

I have used the Park Inn before and as far as the hotel goes, everyone works well and takes pride, particularly the cleaning staff. They are a credit to the hotel from what I can see. My complaint is not about anything that happened to me, but what I witnessed a couple of times with a waitress in the restaurant. This waitress appeared to run the show in the evening. I use the term show as it was her terrible attitude to the job that not only shocked me, but I’m sure other diners. It was what she was like when guests came to the restaurant to get a table. I don’t think I have seen a waitress appear to not like people arriving to get a table. I’m not sure if she had other commitments or she was in a hurry to leave. I witnessed a couple turn up to get a table, the young girl greeted them very nicely, but unbeknown to the couple, behind their back was this waitress who was running her fingers across her throat indicating “NO” to allowing them in. The whole restaurant could see this. This sort of behaviour and determination to turn the guests away was a regular occurrence and the total disregard to who might be watching this, was shocking. You have a wonderful hotel and restaurant, unfortunately you may want to observe what’s going on in the restaurant in the evening.

A 70 minute wait for frozen vegetables, oven chips and a mediocre fishcake. yes we were given a reduction off our bill. There is absolutely no excuse for such poor quality food.

We booked a table for 6pm as we were attending a concert across the road at the Arena.We sat down at 5.50 and our food eventually arrived at 6.55 after many requests by ourselves and other diners in the same position . We were almost late for our concert! When the food eventually came my fish was smothered in a disgusting batter and the so called "skin on fries " were catering pack standard fries. The vegetables with my husbands fish cakes were frozen broccoli and carrots. The following morning breakfast buffet was mediocre with cold grilled tomatoes and stone cold croissants but the coffee was good. It has been many years since I've had such poor food and I felt sorry for the waiting staff who tried their best but management need to sort the kitchen out with some staff training.

Due to having to cater for a large group I was told I could eat at 5.30 instead of waiting till 6pm, the normal opening time. This suited me as I was going to a concert which started at 7.30pm. I ordered but waited 45minutes before my starter was brought to me. Other guests were having the same problem. To speed things up I let the waitress have my dessert order when she brought my main course. Halfway through eating my steak my dessert was brought to the table!! Having said that the food was tasty and reasonably priced.

I had the pulled beef Wellington and hubby had the butter Chicken balti, and don't get me wrong both were nice but certainly not worth nearly £14.00 each, no better than a well known cheap and cheerful food/pub chain. I do think it was microwaved as pastry on my meal was soggy. Hotel here is fab. Would stay at hotel again but won't eat here again.

We went for drinks and dinner before a show at the Arena directly opposite. Totally understaffed - one person behind the bar trying to cope with about 15 people waiting to be served - totally under prepared for what must obviously be a busy time of day given their location. 4 people chatting behind reception totally oblivious to poor guy behind bar struggling to keep everyone happy although he did an outstanding job. I went over and explained the guy needed some help and eventually somebody turned up and hung around trying to look important. Think they need some training in TEAM work. Overpriced drinks - restaurant ok nothing special. Very disappointing as I may have booked to stay there next time I go to a show but Id rather stay over the road at The Big Sleep which says a lot! Poor service overall and very disappointing.

Web site lists that the restaurant is open, online booking system took the reservation, somebody forgot that they had paying customers and needed to actually be open for business. This general level of sloppiness was the sign that I shouldn't have been eating there anyway and I'm glad in the end that I didn't.

We stayed here for 2 nts and had steak using out taste card and it was quite good in all fairness.I would go again.

Not too bad for hotel food but the restaurant could do with a face lift. Breakfast was ok if you wanted hot food, but the continental breakfast was all gone by the time we arrived.

was pleasantly surprised how good our chicken was. superb quality ingredients. delicious. definately value for money.

Modern furniture and decor. Fish and chips tasted OK but I think it was a frozen battered fish - like you can buy in the supermarket - very regular shape. Lemon tart was excellent however. Service good.

We came in here on 22 November before the Bryan Adams concert at the Motorpoint arena (which is on the other side of the road). Bar prices weren't as bad as I was expecting and there was a good atmosphere, it could just do with a few more seats!!

Hope your not in a rush as this place only has one speed very slow...although when the food arrives it is fairly good but is not cheap.

I ate at the RBG on a recent stay. For hotel food this was good quality, well presented and reasonably priced. If you are staying at the Park Inn you really do not have to leave the hotel for food.

Decided to eat here last minute on Friday with a group of 4 as the 50% offer with TasteCard seemed like an opportunity to try somewhere new. Tucked away opposite the MotorPoint arena, I'm sure this place often gets overlooked as a restaurant, but once you're inside the decor is certainly striking and offers a real alternative to many of the bland restaurants elsewhere in town.We arrived around 8:30 with no reservation but there was only 1 other table occupied!Staff were all friendly and welcoming, drinks were served promptly and our order taken. After a few minutes our starters of Pate, Spring rolls and soup of the day - broccoli and zucchini arrived. All fairly small portions, but tasty and whetted our appetite.Mains were mixed grills and steaks, all served with rocket, beef tomato, garlic mushroom and chips. All steaks were cooked to perfection, soft and pink centres, really melting in the mouth. The other meat was all equally as tasty, but if I had to pick a flaw it would have been the fatty gammon.Unfortunately the "steak" knives they provided were no sharper than a standard butter knife and we all struggled to cut anything tougher than a chip.Meals are on the pricey side, heading for £20 a meal and £6 for a starter, but with the 50% was great value and one of the better steaks we've eaten anywhere in Cardiff.Would return, probably skipping the starters next time and possibly bringing our own cutlery!
