Not what we expected before we walked in. Was totally blown away. What a fantastic quirky pub and a friendly owner. It has a “Fake” cinema showing films on a Monday & Tuesday, a pool table and great ales. Huge beer garden. Dogs allowed. Will definitely be back.

Has baked potato and beans. Very nice but bit skimpy on beans

This little treasure was a little off the beaten track.. Keep going, even after you've doubted your directions...keep going...and you'll arrive at your desired destination..finally. The food is AMAZING! Even the chips are the best I've ever tasted!...And then there's the Crab Roll..DELICIOUS and sooo worth the trek 😋 A must find..A must eat... Enjoy 🦀 We'll be back in 2024 ❤️

I’m so glad that the Highgate has taken off the way it has, it’s really gathered the community in Hundy for the first time since I was a kid. Tonight we went to the Halloween party and even though we missed the trick or treat trail, they still made sure that they waited out to give my two toddlers their sweets. They had some super tasty sausage and chips and a dance. The kids had an awesome time and Ozzy hasn’t stopped talking about how much fun she had. Thank you for the effort you’ve put in, to not only the pub itself but also the events that go on there. We’ll be attending them more now! Great service, friendly atmosphere, homely food, community spirit and super inviting and lovely staff! Highly recommended! (Ps. Thank you for letting my long distance family book to stay in the b&b for my wedding next June! They’re so excited!)

What a fantastic pub. I live in Pembrokeshire but had never been in here for food. My daughter and I had had a lovely long walk around the ponds and the beach then called in here for food. They had just finished serving however the chef still cooked for us! The curry was absolutely delicious with the nicest naan bread ever! Super friendly staff and a great atmosphere with the rugby playing. Very busy so we were lucky to get a table. We will definitely be back.

Used to such a lovely place but since it's been taken over it's gone down hill coffee was terrible food was over priced and small cakes were terrible it's a shame it's been taken over me and my family will not be returning and the lady behind the counter needs to learn customer service

Terrible experience here with the night staff at 23:00 on 09/02/24. She was rude, confrontational and everything was too much to ask when asking for items from the shop at the window service. She tutted and was sarcastic when I stopped her walking off after I requested for one item. I was requesting several items and so I said, “oh sorry, maybe it’s best I give you a list rather than you coming back and forth” to which she tutted and said, “yeah, that would be useful wouldn’t it” in a very sarcastic and passive aggressive way. This is no way to speak to customers. Poor form from this garage. Been coming here for years, long before it became ascona and I am yet to have received this sort of service. A real shame. What will be done about it??

A welcoming atmosphere with good beer , other drinks of course . Food available but not tried yet . Located by the historic castle and mill pond .

I always have a takeaway from here on my birthday, I don't know why some reviews are so low! The foo young is SO good, the only issue I have is there wasn't much chicken in the noodle soup last time I had food from here.
