The best restaurants in St. Julians Newport South Wales

Ooh eck....blimmin lovely. First time using Mirchi and the dansak was delicious, and the peshwari naan crisp and melts in your mouth 🤤 portions ok. Would like the pilau rice portion to be a little more generous along with a bigger tub of mint sauce. Other than that I'll definitely be back. And 5 star hygiene rating. Lush!

We were visiting Newport and came across this little restaurant. It had a cafe type interior, which wasn’t particularly appealing, but we wanted to try Yemeni food for the first time - especially the lamb. Unfortunately, they had run out of lamb (7pm on a Friday) - hence only 4 stars. However, the food we had was delicious and plentiful. The dessert was amazing. The portions were huge! The young man who served us was friendly and helpful. Everything was freshly cooked and the final cost was amazing value for money. We highly recommend this restaurant and we hope to be back when we are next in Newport to try the lamb.

Popped in for coffee with my daughter before an appointment. Really lovely welcome from the staff. Super coffee and the best vegan carrot cake I have ever had!

One of the best Chinese I've had since moving over here a few months ago, the veg was fresh and the food was lovely highly recommend the beef in black bean sauce!

Great tasting food had the Korean chicken burger and the loaded tater tots. Feedback would be slightly bigger portion size for the tots and maybe toast the burger bun slightly as the sauce made the burger bun a little hard to pick up ! Other than that top tasting food very decent burger and tots were very good 👍

My partner and I chose this takeaway for it's high star rating. Unfortunately, we were both disappointed and unimpressed with our meals. Mine went in the bin. Mushroom rice was overdone and burnt in places. I can only describe the butter chicken as disgusting. Tikka chicken slices covered in sickly sauce with lumps of onion thrown on top. Waste of money.

We are utterly shocked to read negative here reviews about this charming, cozy, and sophisticated French restaurant. This is one of the best dining experiences my partner and I have had in New England — and we live in New England. We were seated at a corner table tucked away next to the front entrance, a perfect vantage point to look out onto Thames Street. The table had banquette seats with lots of pillows. It was very intimate and cozy. If you are on a date, you should ask for this table. We started with glasses of kir royale, which were delicious. We followed up with escargot, served with shaved artichoke hearts, shaved Parmesan, and garlic butter. It was absolutely scrumptious. We moved onto the tenderloin beef, served in a burgundy sauce with asparagus and mashed potatoes. (These were not just any mashed potatoes; they were exquisite.) This main dish was superb. We finished with Chanterelle’s famous grand marrnier soufflé, which was utter perfection. My partner has had grand marnier soufflé at the finest French restaurants in New York City and elsewhere around the country. Chanterelle’s soufflé was at the top; it was perfect. It was so good that we are considering as we write this going back — just for dessert — two days later. The service was impeccable. They attended to our every wish without having to ask. They truly served us beautifully. Our table captain was Dan; he can pour a carafe of wine from six feet high into a glass on a table without spilling any of it. We saw him do it.

Lovely food & great service, would highly recommend and we will be going back! 😊 The atmosphere was a little flat as we were the only ones there but that couldn’t be helped due to the fallout from COVID.

One of the few places in Newport that has craft beer available. The owner was super friendly and attentive and so was his dog scout. A variety of retro consoles downstairs too!

I’m sure that you are very nice people but your place needs a good clean. Slug trails on the floor .. not good

Uncle is so nice. I don't have sufficient funds in my pocket and student also but still he gives me at good price. Appreciated. Food is also fresh and tasty.
