We're have ordered over five times now. But this time been a big let down. Chips potion was very small for what you pay. Both burgers did not taste right where before they were lovely. I'm afraid it's just not worth £30+ for 2 meals

fries we're stone cold as can in same bag who wants cold food and warm can, burger cold and bun a soggy mess, tenders cold also not happy.

Both burgers were over cooked, the beef was very dry and you couldn't taste the blue cheese. The southern fried chicken was burnt on the outside and really dry on the inside, not enough mayo and would benefit from some greens. The tatertots were nice although cold. Altogether really disappointing and if we had food of that quality at a restaurant I'd send it back.

Excellent quality food as always, if you want a proper fresh burger and not a claimed freshly made burger to find out its a frozen patty definitely try Riverside. Their burgers do not disappoint and supporting these places is very important!

Top quality food, the best chicken in Newport - dips unreal!

Went early on a Friday evening for a bite to eat before it got too busy. The Facebook page pictures tempted us. The food wasn't as nice as it looked, tbh. Tried a couple of different types of loaded fries and they were basically just cheap ingredients and sauces over basic fries. Really felt overpriced. The staff were brilliant, though. Friendly and helpful. The tables were ridiculously sticky, though. Possibly the cleaning stuff they use, but either way they weren't nice. Not enough positives to draw us back.

Popped in for a meeting last night and was quite surprised how busy it was for a Thursday. They provide for everyone with Darts and Pool both in action aswell as a full patio in the sun and people watching the match on the many screens they have. Didn't have any food myself but it looked excellent so will be trying some on my next visit. Well done to all involved.

My experience here was very disappointing & underwhelming, due to the managers rude/hostile approach to reason with us about purchasing alcohol to stay in the bar. Me and my friends don’t drink and just wanted a leisurely game of pool to enjoy our afternoon. However we felt pressured and intimidated by his arrogant attitude despite his leadership role. We maintained a calm attitude and proceeded to try and deescalate the situation. this is a prime example of ageism as there was a group of older men near us also playing pool without ordering anything from the bar. we mentioned this but he dismissed these claims and told us we were giving attitude. Overall horrible service from the manager and a very disappointing visit to say the least, wont be returning again.

Staff are nasty - threatening and judgemental. Received abuse for simply using their pool table.

Went in after work for a pint and bite to eat. Choose Hot Loaded Fries, plenty of chicken included and make no mistake it's if HOT spice peppers. Cost £14 for the fries.

While enjoying a game of pool at a bar, my friends and I were confronted by a rude manager insisting we buy drinks or leave. Politely asking if purchasing drinks would allow us to stay, he became aggressive. Despite our attempt to clarify, he rudely asked us to leave, accusing me of giving attitude. I had an unpleasant experience at the riverside bar today due to a disrespectful man claiming to be the manager. His unprofessional behavior tarnished my visit. I expect better conduct from someone in a leadership role.

Manager was rude and very hostile, he approached us saying we had to leave due to us not ordering anything in the time, we tried talking with reason saying if we bought things could we stay and he instantly started threatening us saying we had attitude and kicked us out due to our age

Really hostile atmosphere, manager was looking for an argument even though we didn’t do anything wrong. We tried being reasonable with him but due to our age we felt targeted and there was nothing we could do

All was really Tasty and decent portions! Loved the freshly made nachos- so good!

Portion was ok and burgers nice but food quite cold on delivery and all a little over seasoned in my view as my kids didnt like the chicken strips at all.

Great sports bar with free pool and darts, great food and range of drinks. Staff are always friendly. Kids are welcomed too which is fantastic.

A large family group landed here on a Saturday afternoon following a recommendation from a local friend. Firstly it is large and spacious perfect for our group of 13 people. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and patient especially with the kids. The food was plentiful and delicious at a reasonable price. The hot chicken wings were phenomenal, really fiery without impacting the taste. The chicken box was also packed with succulent, flavoursome portions. Sides of Mac and cheese and chips also went down well. With sport on several TVs and a free pool table we had a great afternoon.

Great to have a decent sports bar in Newport. Loads of screens showing all manner of sports, and generous helpings of food too. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you love football.

Love coming into this place, really nice pool tables and they're both free which is a great benefit, 2 nice dart boards, a play station and a football table I mean cmon this place is great, nice staff who work there and if you're a massive football fan then be sure to watch the games on their nice tvs, I'm definitely gonna be a regular customer like I am at the moment haha definitely recommend to anyone.

Great bar, the pickled eggs and stout were Devine together and cleansed the pallet to satisfaction beyond words. Stacey and Tracey the twin barmaids were an absolute joy to behold and Jeff the local comedic genius of southern Welsh soul is the ‘five star atmosphere’ Really looking forward to partaking in the all things South Wales/Gwent pub quiz on Tuesdays and Sushi Night on Sundays.

My friend and I were invited to visit and had a great night trying some delicious food, and playing pool and fußball! The portions were huge so would definitely recommend if you like dirty burgers and fries! We had the Fiery Chicken burger, Black and blue burger, hot cheese dirty fries and nachos😍

Riverside Newport sports bar 📍 @riverside 📍 I ordered the triple decker burger. The burger had 3 smashed patties with American cheese, bacon, onions, BBQ sauce and mustard. The burgers were absolutely amazing and full of flavour. The beef was really tasty, really cheesy and so delicious. I had the Cajun dirty fries 🍟 which came fully loaded with southern fried chicken, cheese 🧀 sauce, crispy onions, crispy bacon 🥓 and BBQ sauce. The chips was crispy, the bacon was crispy, the chicken was crispy and all cooked to perfection. I can see why these are their best sellers. I got to try the smashed cheese burger tacos with cheese 🧀 red onion, spring onion, chillis 🌶️, gherkins and fully loaded with sauce. These was my absolute favourite and could have had a plate full of them. Full credit to the chef Craig for smashing the cooking. The tacos gotta go on the menu full time 👌. The misses had the black and blue burger. Double beef patties, bacon 🥓, caramelised onions, Stilton and ranch sauce. She usually gets fed up of burgers 🍔 when eating but she finished all her burger and absolutely loved it. She did say the Stilton sauce was strong but she loved it. The sports bar has a really good feel about the place. It got plenty of 📺 for all sport, darts 🎯 boards and of course a pool table. I can definitely see me popping back down when the football is on with the boys. The beer garden is amazing over looking the river and is a sun trap. The staff was very polite and helpful and thanks to Natalie for making us feel welcome and a special shoutout to the chef for making mouth watering food. It was a pleasure. Riverside är en bra sportbar i Newport. Vi drack några pint öl. Det enda som var negativt var ljudnivån som gjorde det svårt att kommunicera.

A bit quiet.staff very efficient, will visit again.

My friends and I were staying in the area for the weekend playing golf. We wanted to watch the boxing which was going to be a big fight (Anthony Joshua). We went online to search the area to see who was showing it. This Sports bar had it on their website saying they were going to show the fight live along with football before. We tried ringing the bar to double check but the number didn't work. Anyway, we risked it and went anyway. As we arrived the Sports Bar was empty apart from the staff sitting at the bar. We were told they weren't showing the fight as they didn't have the proper permission to. This was really frustrating but thankfully we found a nearby pub which was showing it. The bar looked good and had plenty of pool tables. The staff seemed nice and friendly. Maybe lose the word 'Sports' and just have Bar.

Clean and tidy, good atmosphere and great outside seating. Limited options in the ale front - shipyard and Newcastle brown in bottles but everything else good. Friendly staff and a cheap to use pool table.

Selection of draught beers was poor (2), alot of sports screens but the same event was playing on all (snooker) despite a full day of rugby being aired. The only saving grace was the view from the balcony

Absolutely amazing place! Food is divine and prices are so reasonable and you definitely get your money's worth and the presentation is by far the best I've ever seen. All staff are so friendly and welcoming! Definitely coming here again!

My mate argued with a lippy barmaid after she failed to notice who to serve next. He told her to LOOK UP but she had us wait 10 minutes for a drink. It really isn’t technical is it? Another mate paid for his drinks and eventually got them - and was asked to pay again. Just three staff on the busiest day of the year and one went out to dish food out. Next time pop to the zoo and employ some chimps. And two weeks ago I nearly gagged on a pint of beer. Disgusting ale.

Good pub with pool tables and bands on selected nights. Just a bit difficult getting served, staff only serve customers stood directly in front of them!
