Lovely food & great service, would highly recommend and we will be going back! 😊 The atmosphere was a little flat as we were the only ones there but that couldn’t be helped due to the fallout from COVID.

Totally equipped for social distancing. Food was amazing. Tasty, portions great, service fab. Delicious and definitely a place to return to.

Good to see the restaurant busy but considerately spacing the tables - gave us the option of using upstairs restaurant area also. Service was good but not overbearing. Food quality good as usual - all of us happy!

Visited the place with friends the food and wine was very nice, the staff very friendly,the ambiance and so beautiful really enjoyed the restaurant.

We attended the restaurant today having prebooked for a party of ten people. I was aware that the tables would be set apart which was no problem. On arrival, we were shown to our tables upstairs. The drinks order was taken about ten minutes after arrival and the meal order about half an hour after being seated. The started arrived three quarters of an hour after they were ordered. The calamari was a tiny portion and totally inedible having been cooked so long that it couldn’t be chewed, never mind cut. I informed the waiter who went away with the plates. The other server, who I later found out was the manager, came up a short while later and said that they had a new supplier and that the chef hadn’t cooked it before. That was it, no apology or gratuity to make up for two of us not having starters. Two hours after arrival, our food finally arrived. The pork dish was again half the size of the portion that had been served on previous visits, and no vegetables or potatoes were served with the dish. The risotto was tasteless, the lasagna tasted good but again was reduced in portion size from previous visits. The calzone was mostly dough and the cheesy garlic bread had little garlic and next to no cheese on it. Again the waiter asked if everything was okay and seemed surprised when I said it wasn’t. He sent up the manager who said that they were busy. I said that this wasn’t good enough as there had been no apology or being kept up to date on our food order. In response I got a shrug of the shoulders and he walked off! I am disgusted by the attitude of a manager when complaints were made and I cannot believe how much this restaurant has gone downhill since we last visited. This was meant to be a celebration of a family meal out due to family members shielding during the current crisis. The night was ruined by poor food and bad attitude and our regular visits here will never happen again unless the staff attitude changes. Absolutely no concession was given on the bill to the poor food and service which just shows that they have no concern for their customers or the enjoyment of their meals.

We looked for local restaurants while staying at the Celtic Manor. As the service at the Manor was appalling we decided to eat out most evenings. This was found on trip advisor. What a gem! Great food excellent service and happy attentive staff. We went back on another evening as it was so good. Thanks again. Pizzas and seabass lovely. Kids loved their meals also.

Wow. My wife ordered a meal from Samremo for Fathers Day as we have had quite a few takeaway meals from here during lockdown what a mistake! My wife went to collect the food and when she returned home the meatballs which we had ordered as part of a larger order were not there so she immediately called the restaurant to be told "I HAVE CHECKED WITH THE KITCHEN AND YOUR MEATBALLS WERE IN THE BAG'. When she said I can assure you they are not again we were told "THEY WERE". So with this completely dismissive attitude we then informed them we would immediately bring the food back to show them. When I arrived at the restaurant with the food I was informed that "we could keep the food but they would still give us a full refund" an offer I of course declined telling the lady that she had really upset my wife by basically accusing her of trying to get something for nothing and pretty much calling her a liar as the kitchen put the meatballs in! She the said I cannt see how this could have upset my wife and that's not what she called her. Now let's just put this in perspective here. Wife: I have not had meatballs San Remo: Yes you have because the kitchen says so Sounds very much to me that the kitchen staff are beacons of truth and my wife is a lying thief! As I said at the start we have eaten here many times and complimented them on their food while also trying to support a local restaurant business in what are very difficult times but if their attitude is to be so defensive thinking everyone just wants to rip them off over a measly meatball dish then maybe they need to seriously rethink if they should be in what is a very competitive and customer service focused business. We shall never return to this place ever again and no doubt they will respond will a whole host of excuses and denials but again let's be honest would a thief take the time and effort to drive back across town to hand deliver the food and refuse to take the food free of charge ?

Visited last night with my wife as we love Italian food and had not tried this local restaurant. It will certainly not be the last time we do visit! The restaurant was quiet upon arriving although we had booked ahead (it was a rainy Sunday night!) but we were greeted warmly by the sole serving waiter. The waiter brought menus to our table straight away and gave us a good few minutes to decide what we wanted before taking our order. I had the deep fried mushrooms to start and my wife opted for the Bruschetta, both were excellent and ample in size for starters. For mains I chose the Tagliatelle Pescatore and I can honestly say it was fantastic! The sauce was so rich and there were lots of prawns and mussels in the dish. We don't normally have dessert but we both decided to opt for the tiramisu and although the texture was perfect we both felt it could have been a bit stronger in coffee and booze (But we appreciated that every family has a different opinion on this! We finished the meal with a white coffee each. Compliments to the chef! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will be returning the next time we are child free!

We booked a table for Valentine's day. We got there are 8pm. We were seated quite quickly. However, they did not sit us with the menus. The waiter had gone for 5 minutes before bringing menus over to us which was super weird. The waiter came back 5 minutes later to take our drink order which was then sat on the bar for ages before they brought them over. We ordered our starters which took 20 minutes to arrive. The prawns were delicious and the antipasti was nice too. For our mains it took 40 minutes to come out. We were not even spotted for refills on our drinks, we had a lasagna, when it came out it was so burnt you could smell the charcoal. We were not happy with it and told the waiter to take it back. He said "we have to burn it for it to be cooked in the middle" never heard such a most ridiculous comment in my life. However he proceeded to argue before he actually took it back. We had to wait an extra 10 minutes but when it did come out it was delicious. Lots of sauce which was unnecessary but it was cooked well and good amount of cheese.. It took them 15 minutes before they came to clear our tables. Dessert took ages, please never order the tiramisu as it was watery and soggy. The chocolate brownie was definitely the best part of the evening and the crème brûlée was not good. The top sugar was soggy and the it wasn't creamy like it should be it was just a mousse. The scruffy waiter guy took forever to recognise we wanted our bill. The whole experience was not very good. However as the lasagna was nice I've given it 3 stars. We didn't leave the restaurant until 10:16 when we paid our bill. Not ONCE were we asked if our meal was OK. Not once were we approached during our meal to ask if anything was wrong, we were also not asked when we came to pay. Service was super slow and it didn't seem to have a nice atmosphere. It's a shame as I had a takeaway pizza here. We felt the arrogance and the rudeness has put me off ever coming back here.

My daughter and I went to this wonderful restaurant for an early evening meal. I had funghi con aglio as a starter, the SanRemo risotto as my main and panacotta as desert. The place is lovely and clean and so is the toilet which is upstairs. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wines. They made us feel very welcome. Probably best to book a table in advance as it can get very busy. They also take group bookings.

Me and my husband have come here a handful of times and each has been wonderful. The food is divine, the service is professional, friendly and effective. I would definitely recommend this restaurant when stuck for a reasonable, italian restaurant.
