Visited Bistro 8 today for a family Sunday lunch celebrating a birthday. Sunday lunch was served piping hot with plenty of veg. The food was full of flavour and the service was exceptional. Marybeth attended to all of our requests as quickly as possible and delivered the best service. Will definitely be returning.

Used to come here for Sunday lunch all the time. And it was fab They were closed for a while so stopped but went a few weeks ago. Very disappointed. We were seated next to the snooker table. Why when the rest of the place was empty. There was a very small dish of veg to feed four of us. The tureen wasn’t even full. Our plates looked bare as there wasn’t enough to go around. It was 12 noon so it wasn’t as if they were running out. Very poor value for money. I left hungry Will not be going there again.

Writing this for the Rolling Jack which is the restaurant inside the bowls club. Amazing meals & great value for money. Sunday lunches are so good! We’ve attended a show where you get a 2 course meal included for £19.95! Great value & great show which was Lynsey Pugh ! We’re booked in for another show. They currently do a midweek roast on a Thursday & it’s very popular. The fish & chips is really nice & so cheap! Their standards are consistent as never I’ve had a bad meal. Gavin, Adele & the young team of staff work hard & provide great service. It’s so nice to have somewhere local to go to for good food. Thank you!

AVOID . Had food tonight and was awful rice was stodgy well over cooked, was like thick porridge. first time ordering, never again. Noodles smelt of I don’t know what. Now feeling unwell

Gone down hill. I like to go somewhere & have tea in a teapot & a nice cup & saucer. Very short staffed, slow service.

Lovely food had a lush family meal for my nephews 18th ,cosy lil pub with parking and a lush garden out the back

Complete waste of time. After a 200 mile drive and less than 2 miles to go, why not get a Chinese, right? Superb if you don’t mind waking into a place with NO PRICES ON DISPLAY. I’d forgiven the 3 star hygiene rating but the final straw was “cash only”!! When asking the price of things the lady had to put it into the register to tell me…! After wasting my time making the detour, after all that fuss they don’t even take card payment, cash only! This business has been here since the 1980s. I expect better. This has been my first and final visit. How is this place still ins business.

I had my hen do here the other night and can,t praise staff enough the buffet they put on was excellent nothing was to much trouble everything was clean and tidy and myself and my guests had an amazing time .will visit again .
