The Sunday Lunch was brilliant, one of the best I’ve had. Portions were big, service was really prompt. Hallie our waitress was excellent and very attentive. Would definitely recommend and go again

The staff were attentive, the food good and well priced and the general surroundings appealing. My only complaint is table 10 that is located right in front of the conservatory. It did not take many guests to attend before the noise became unbearable. The table is also on the edge of the though-fair meaning guests had a tendency to stop and talk right behind us, sometimes quite loudly over the conservatory noise.

Wow what a delicious Sunday dinner, fantastic portions at a fair price! The gravy & roasties were out of this his world! Great service too! Will be returning!

Came for food with my husband on our weekly Saturday date night! Couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Service from Teigan was one of our favourites out of all places we have visited! Really took the time to make us feel looked after. The food was amazing! Will recommend!

From the second we walked in we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome by Cole. We were shown to our table and had the best Sunday lunch, in our opinion the best around! Even though Cole wasn’t our waiter he asked us twice if we needed anything and went that extra mile. All staff were professional and the refurbishment is stunning! We shall be back very soon!

Went on a Sunday day to sit on the terrace. Had a cracking bit of tapas, staff were absolutely lovely and the service was great. New menu is looking good!

A very nice Sunday lunch. A good quantity of meat with lots of fresh veg. Disappointing that they had run out of cauliflower cheese by 2pm which would have cost an extra £4.75. I also feel that they could include stuffing and pigs in blankets for the cost which I thought was rather high at £17.95. Also disappointing that they didn't have any cranberry sauce-a must in my opinion with turkey! Desserts were lovely-slightly more expensive than usual but delicious! Service was good and we didn't have to wait long for the food. Not somewhere I'd go every Sunday as the price is prohibitive but good for an occasion. Ps cranberry sauce please!!!

Really enjoyed today’s Sunday roast dinner. Very well presented and the roast vegetables were very tasty! Plenty of food for all of us and it was no trouble for extra gravy and vegetables. Didn't have to wait very long and staff were very friendly. 😊

We visited a couple of weeks ago and had an outstanding Sunday lunch , so decided to book a table for their relaunch night. The bistro has been refurbished and looks amazing! The new menu has something for everyone, including gluten free options. My meal, Mediterranean chicken, was so good that I'm not sure I'll ever order anythingelse! My husband had the tapas and loved it all and was amazed how filling it was. Our friends all enjoyed their meals too. The owners were there and chatted with us for a while and were extremely friendly. Will definitely return time and again!

Not been here for a while, came last year 23 before major open heart surgery, so as it was excellent we decided to try again. Unfortunately very very disappointed as it was a Sunday we read the menu on line and decided we would choose one of the three option 1 course 2 courses or three courses. Sadly they no longer do this and I was told by the server the online menu is only a sample!! What!! The starters were totally differed and no longer having the choice of 1,2or 3 courses worked out much more expensive. Both of us chose the leek and potato soup this was very average and only just warm, I had the Trio of meat and she had the lamb. The meats on both were acceptable which is more than I can say for the veg only the swede and peas weren’t burnt, as for the Yorkshire pudding it was huge and should be supplied with an angle grinder it was so tough. When we were paying not once was I asked if everything was ok otherwise I would have politely told them. I’m sure I’ll get the standard sorry not our usual standard reply which we’ve come to expect these days. Definitely won’t be coming again unfortunately.

We dined here for a Sunday lunch and I have to say it was delicious! Living in an area without many nice places to eat, it was refreshing to go somewhere that not only serves good food but the portion sizes are very very generous , it’s clean, and the staff are very friendly. Tom is an amazing manager who will go above and beyond for his guests. The meat is very tender, the veg and potatoes are cooked perfectly and the gravy is lovely. The starters of soup and mushrooms were also very tasty and served in an appropriate time. Overall, if you want a cwtchy, homemade, tasty Sunday lunch, then this is the place to go. We look forward to returning.

We had tapas between two and was quite disappointed. The calamari was quite chewy and the bruschetta and goats cheese… nearly £9 and it was only one piece of bread. We’ve been there quite a few times and feel the standard have slipped. The service was great and the staff lovely. Just the food was a let down :-(

Wow, fantastic Sunday lunch, beautiful, hot, and very tasty. Everything cooked to perfection from the meat, parsnips, roasties, creamed swede etc etc. Lovely tasty gravy and the side of cauliflower cheese, outstanding. My only criticism, the Yorkshire pudding was stodgy and a bit cakey but I can't wait to go back for another.

I was a regular at Bistro 8 a few years ago so it was nice to return there after a break to see if the food and the pub had maintained the same high standards and quality of ingredients. I am sorry to say that there has been a dropped in the eating experience there. I initially sat on a chair that was battered and deserved to be in a skip as the material was worn and there was no padding in the seat. I had the Catalan Chorizo to start, it was a clump of meat in a bowl…£8 a bowl, I expected a little more. I had the Korean chicken burger which was excellent. My partner had the lasagne but the meat was poor quality. I appreciate that businesses are finding it hard with rising costs but please sort out the basics to keep customers returning. However, I would give staff 5 stars as they were excellent.

Unfortunately it was quite disappointing. We had heard mixed reviews before we came but decided to give it a try for our 10 year anniversary. The food was very overpriced for the quality that was provided. For example, the bruschetta had such a tiny sprinkling of goats cheese that you could barely see it (despite that being the main ingredient on the menu description), the red onions were far to overpowering and the bread hadn’t been toasted. The duck ragu pasta was bland and lacking in any cooking skill. The pinenuts hadn’t even seen the inside of a frying pan and the tomatoes tasted tinned. It was certainly edible and the staff were pleasant enough, but the overall experience was dissatisfying due to the fact that we paid such a high price for poor quality food. It’s a lovely space and setting but the food sadly doesn’t deliver.

First time going to Bistro 8 yesterday with a friend and I wasn’t disappointed! The food and presentation was amazing. I had the beef roast dinner, beef was so tender it just fell apart and the cauliflower cheeses was a huge portion. Had the chocolate cake to finish and it was beautiful! Think I’ve found my new roast dinner place to go to. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to try their normal menu.

Visited today for Sunday lunch started with creamy garlic mushrooms on sourdough bread for starter then I had a trio of meats beef ,pork and turkey with seasonal veg fluffy roasties and Yorkshire pudding amazing food

Teigan was amazing, could not do enough for us from the moment we stepped inside. We sat downstairs in the dog friendly area. She was even accommodating for them with water bowls without prompt! The food was fresh, hot and delicious. We will be back thank you Teigan!!

Such a lovely gem of a place to find locally - a must try! Plenty of car parking opposite & an easy to find place. Chocolate fudge cake was delicious & the tapas starters were fabulous portion sizes! Mains were excellent & service was friendly and great :’)

Came in for a mother's day lunch after hearing all the good things about this business and it was definitely worth the hype! We were greeted and seated with a smile by Teigan and she happily answered all the questions myself and my mother asked. The roast was perfect and the roasties well I wanted more!!
