Had an early table booked for dinner today, and what a good idea it was.It had been a beautiful day and the view from the Hotel that contains the Tonnau restaurant is truly spectacular. We had a drink from the bar and took in the view whilst pondering over the menu which is quite comprehensive for all tastes. My wife chose the sea bass on a bed of veg and I chose the Italian chicken with mash and veg. These mains were beautifully cooked and presented hot and fresh. The desserts were duperb also and we retired back to the bar for coffee. The dining room is nicely presented with plush carpet and soft furnishings. The bar and lounge is also luxuriously fitted out and of course has the view. All staff were friendly and efficient and we had s really nice evening.

We were travelling home to England and all needed a breakfast ! We initially drove into the centre of Criccieth to find other cafes busy. We decided to journey home and stop at a roadside cafe if and when we saw one! Further down the road I saw a sign for Cafe and Fisheries and we immediately turned left and thank goodness we did ! We followed the forest road and came to a small pond and benches some swings and a cafe ! They allowed dogs which was great and as the weather was sunny we walked through the cafe and to the other side to a decked area overlooking a beautiful lake. The cafe was popular and some people we eating teas a cakes which also looked amazing ! We ordered 4 large breakfasts and were not disappointed ! Lovely friendly service and lovely food with a lovely view ! So glad we found this haven and didn’t get a bacon buttie from Criccieth as originally planned . This will definitely be our homeward journey breakfast stop off from now on !

A message to the residents of Wales: YOU LUCKY LUCKY PEOPLE. You are so fortunate to have a place like this in your area. We like to eat out when we can. Finding a good restaurant is great, finding one with good staff is a joy, getting a good view in a beautiful building is a bonus. Here at Dylans in Criccieth you have the full set and more. We went to Dylans restaurants in Menai and at Criccieth and felt throughly spoiled at both locations, the food was excellent and the staff were not only helpful and professional but friendly too. Special mention to our waitress at Criccieth today (7th March), Harley/Carley, (I appologise for misremembering her name, ). She seemed to have endless energy, was attentive, but still had time to make each of her customers feel like they were old friends. Your teams make dining out the relaxing experience it should be, good food, prepared by skilled people behind the scenes and presented to the table by caring front of house staff all at a resonable price. Thank you all. The only downside is that it's a 10 hour round trip from home to Criccieth and back, I'm wondering if I can justify a business trip to North Wales from Norfolk? :)

This a great little watering hole in Criccieth. We are always made welcome and good range of beers and drinks with a great outdoor space too. We always end up chatting with fellow drinkers and learn so much about local events, nice walks and places to eat. A great pub in hear of community

Great little chippy….we got there just before closing so they cooked to order for us. Fish was delicious and both fish and chips were generous in portion size….if you do visit try the Irish curry ….super tasty! 2 x fish 1 x large chips 2x sausage 1x peas 1x curry and 2 cans of pop £22 ….well worth popping in and we will be back when we’re next in town .

Nice deli selling lots of cheese wine etc. My partner bought a nice bottle of wine which was made in a local vineyard up the road, the lady who served him was lovely and helpful. I bought some cheese from another lady on the deli counter, they had a lovely collection, unfortunately the lady behind the counter wasnt very friendly, would have been nice if she smiled and chatted and made you feel welcome....

This was a last minute booking but so glad we went. The set up is basic and there appeared to only be one server but boy did she do well. The menu is a bit different but all the dishes we chose were delicious. 2 Paella's, one Spanish prawns and one meatballs. Amazing flavours and very different from anything you will find in the area. Not a scrap left on any of our plates so that says it all. Dog friendly too! Give it a go if you fancy something different.

Sadly, Mrs Roberts the owner died, such a sad loss and the loss of the most delightful tea room. This was a wonderful tea room and so old,-fashioned, we will greatly miss it, now for sale in July, we hope it will be treated kindly by it's new owners.
