Nice deli selling lots of cheese wine etc. My partner bought a nice bottle of wine which was made in a local vineyard up the road, the lady who served him was lovely and helpful. I bought some cheese from another lady on the deli counter, they had a lovely collection, unfortunately the lady behind the counter wasnt very friendly, would have been nice if she smiled and chatted and made you feel welcome....

We’ve been going for ice cream or hot drinks here for a long time and for most of the year. Service here used to be great and was a real draw, but the past few times (over the last 24 months or so), it’s been short staffed, with mistakes made on orders, impolite (older) staff or long waits. The menu now has lots of bulky, unhealthy options around the ice cream, (ice cream burger anyone?) which makes bringing kids and their friends here more difficult. While the decor is basically the same, it feels like a franchise at a motorway stop rather than a local café in a quiet town. The ice cream is still the same recipe, but as there are so many good local ice cream makers, we will not miss visits here.

The most obvious tea room on the promenade at Criccieth, painted in a vivid blue, this location will be familiar with many. We called in on a windy by warm bank holiday Sunday for drinks and cake. There was a decent selection of clearly home made food, and tbh I can understand why everything is served takeaway style. Whilst the cups are cardboard, the service is still friendly and the view is great. We really enjoyed our cakes whilst watching the surfer and paddle boarders in the bay from upstairs.

After somewhere for Sunday lunch with our multigenerational family, The Llewelyn was suggested. We weren’t sure what to expect, especially as we arrived at the very start of service and the restaurant was very quiet. Clearly used by guests of the hotel for breakfast and buffets also - which is fine - it initially felt a little uncomfortable as quite empty but as other guests joined us, the atmosphere lightened. The menu is limited for lunch - we think they may have previously had a carvery buffet? - with just roast main courses and a few pudding choices, plus restricted kids menu, but portions were very generous. As some of our party were vegetarians, we weren’t sure what the ‘vegetable and seed roast’ would be, but it was delicious. Alongside the main roast - which came with roast potatoes, red cabbage, carrots and parsnips plus a huge Yorkshire pudding - was a separate dish of lovely cauliflower cheese plus extra gravy. Another member of the party wasn’t a vegetarian, and we were quite surprised when another dish of cauliflower cheese came along with another jug of extra (vegetarian) gravy! We couldn’t manage all the extra veg between the three of us, even though it was delicious. We were too full for desert, but left happy and full of praise for The Llewelyn, definitely a Criccieth Sunday lunch special!

In the centre if town, this is the only pub open during the day in the off season. Clean and tidy with friendly staff. Drink and food prices are about average, however the portion sizes are bigger than average. I had the cheese burger/fries and it was excellent. Overall, a pleasant experience

Considering all the negative reviews, as my title says, 'speak as you find'. We had a lovely meal there tonight, 29th October. The waiter was very chatty and friendly as we're the other staff that were on duty. The only downside was that we were the only two people in there, I truly hope that this wasn't because of the reviews, and more to do with 'end of season'. If you are in Criccieth, please give it a try. I hope you won't be disappointed. Lovely building too.

Bought a takeaway from here..Chicken Curry,Chips and egg fried rice...I shall always leave a review whether good or bad and unfortunately this has to be the worse Chinese meal I've ever eat ...the chips were like sticks,so hard ...probably from the day before,Egg fried rice was ok and the curry sauce was grim...I'm guessing boiled a kettle of water ,put a few cheap curry granules in,cheap chewy chicken and loads of onions...the sauce was that thin ...absolutely no taste whatsoever...couldn't eat it,it went in bin. I was on holiday and was staying 8 miles away...too far to go back and complain...hence the review...I've no idea who is putting good reviews on here if the other meals are anything like the curry...I strongly advise people to give here a miss in the hope they may get someone in that can actually cook ....Dire ...
