I ordered 2 Vegetarian platters and despite my mistake of ordering too late, the lovely lady on the phone went to work on prepping and cooking my Saturday night treat. Admittedly I took the photo after eating half of the food (couldn’t wait to dive in) but I thought it was important to show how it was served, there were additional sides of boiled rice, lovely soups, popadoms and chutneys... oh and a freebie paneer dish which I really enjoyed. I would recommend everyone gives this lovely little business a try. Very refreshing to find a vegetarian/vegan Indian take away. Please note that orders are taken on a Friday ready for collection the following day.

We came here for a light Sunday lunch without having booked but that was not a problem even though it became very busy. We were warmly welcomed and invited to sit where we wanted. We chose the pork baps with roast potatoes, stuffing balls and gravy. Hardly a light bite but absolutely delicious - all perfectly cooked and piping hot. The bottle of wine also went down very nicely indeed! And all of this with friendly service and at a very reasonable price. A shame we live so far away but we will definitely return.

This has just been taken over and is now called Lucky Phoenix. I am a truck driver who passes by and regularly stops in the village for food. Since the new owners have taken over, in my opinion it’s not good. Won’t ever stop again.(Steve you are solely missed)

We went to Pennys after discovering the two other cafes we had identified were no longer in business. The place was clean, the owner friendly and welcoming but the food, while adequate and inexpensive, was uninspiring. Other cafes where I have given a high score have gone the extra mile with home baked bread, cakes, scones, homemade soup, burgers etc. As it was, we had a chicken baguette (processed chicken slices in a sub roll), turkey and stuffing baguette (processed turkey and stuffing in a sub roll), cheese on toast (processed bread and cheese) and two beefburgers with cheese, onion and chips (processed breadcakes and cheese, commercial burgers). With 4 cups of tea and an orange drink, the bill was £28 so, on the one hand we weren't robbed, but on the other hand we were disappointed.

I tend to avoid this Greggs because there’s always 1 person serving breakfast and it’s 15 minutes out my morning each time. Today there was a queue of 9 people out the door and just one very chatty lady serving. I know they’re going as fast as they can and friendly when you do get to the counter but not ideal for those trying to grab and go!

Went in for lunch at 13.30 (closing time at 13.45), first thing the woman behind the till said was "how many of you are there?" Not even a hello, everything from there on seemed to be a massive hassle for her, ask for anything and she's shrug her shoulders and walk into the back.I understand you were 15 mintues away from closing but being from a background of catering myself you cannot give customers that type of attitude when they are giving your establishment money. Oh and yeah we all still left the chippy at (13.43) 2 minutes before closing time.Food was actually nice I have no complaints about that but why the attitude? Terrible customer service and that's the only thing all 4 of us will look back on when we think of this chippy and not the nice food, SORT IT OUT ITS YOUR JOB!
