Visited last night with a couple of old school friends for a pre-Christmas catch up. It was a first time visit for me. We booked a table which was just as well as it was really busy for a Wednesday night. Gorgeous interior and extensive food options. There were also great Christmas themed options. All of the food was lovely and with free parking in the main car park to the rear, it really is a perfect spot. Great staff too. We're booking again for January.

Our favourite cafe 'The Loaf' was closed so we came here. As soon as we sat down and felt the sticky table and menus Imt husband and I wanted to leave. I went to have a look at the ice creams and the glass was dirty the cake stands were dirty. But we have a teenager who fancied a bubble waffle with ice cream. Our daughter said it was nice. Within half an hour she felt sick and it was repeating on her and later on was sick. She never suffers from anything repeating on her or being sick. We will never go back.

First Impressions Friendly and welcoming staff. Interior was warm, clean and modern. Split into a bar area on one side and the restaurant on the other. The clientele seemed to be families and elderly friends. Sat next to a nice lady who is a regular and said the dinners are great and the staff ācouldnāt do enough for youā. Booking normally welcomed but they managed to fit me in and did not feel like an inconvenience. Menu Only Sunday Dinner menu served on Sundays. Food Went for the 2 courses of beef dinner and dessert. Had an Americano coffee too. Beef dinner comprised of: Beef Boiled potatoes Roast potatoes Peas Carrots Cauliflower Mashed swede Parsnip Yorkshire pud Gravy You could request more vegetables at no extra cost. The dinner was excellent. All the vegetables felt fresh and were presented nicely in a silver tray. Plate already came with plenty of gravy and they provide a gravy boat too. All sauces you would expect (horseradish, apple, mint etc.) available on request. The beef was tender and juicy. They provided 3 slices which is about the right amount. All veg was cooked to satisfaction for most part - roast potatoes slightly overdone and had hardened skin - but this is a minor grievance and the insides were still fluffy and tasty. The winner is the gravy. It is so rich and meaty tasting and complimented the beef. I wonder whether they have a chicken gravy if you went for the chicken dinner. š¤ After the dinner I was so full and did not want anything too stodgy or sickly sweet for dessert. Thankfully, they probably have the most dessert choices I have ever seen for any restaurant. After some careful consideration I went for the Bakewell Tart, which to my pleasant surprise, came with either cream or ice cream. With so many desserts to choose from, I donāt think the desserts are made in-house, but that didnāt matter to me. The presentation was spot-on, and they even had a biscuit crumb on the bottom of the ice cream to a.) prevent the ball of ice cream sliding and b.) give the contrasting texture. I love almond and cherry flavours so this was always going to be a thumbs up. Overall Experience Excellent. I didnāt know what to expect walking into the pub. Gentleman behind the bar quickly gave me his attention despite being in the middle of pouring a pint for another customer. Ushered me to the restaurant area to ask whether there was any space, because usually you would have to book. There were 3 or 4 customers queueing for takeaway dinners. The service was quick, but not rushed. Ordered my drink within 2 mins of being seated and it arrived within another 2 mins. There were about 6 waitresses and all were dressed appropriately and were friendly. There were multiple dessert boards hung on the walls but if you couldnāt read it, they would bring one to the table, which I witnessed one group doing. I will definitely be back again and will be singing their praises to friends and family.
