The best restaurants in Fraserburgh and District Aberdeenshire North East Scotland

During our stay at Inveralochy we ventured into Fraserburgh for some food and found Maitlands restaurant, which is also part of a lovely furniture store. I have managed organisations and worked with the public for 30 years and spot great customer service within a split second. The ladies who served us from the waitress, cooks, to the person on the till, were warm, friendly, and really made our visit a great experience. We had lunch the first day and breakfast the second visit, and on both occasions the food was tasty and good value. It's not easy to provide a good service in such a busy environment, while making people feel welcome, but those ladies who work there done just that. I listened to how they interacted with people of all ages, how they made an old person sitting on their own feel so welcome, and watched how they stayed busy at all times rushing about keeping people happy and tables clean, not forgetting to ask if we were ok and fancied pudding! We'll be back for certain and won't bother looking around for anywhere else, we'll just head straight to Maitlands for our food. Next time we'll spend longer exploring the furniture store too as it looks as though there's some decent items there. Was there with a large family group and it was completely faultless. Staff were excellent and seen to all our needs and the food was delicious

Took an hour to be served our food, and when we did get it, chips were over cooked, the cajun chicken was so spicy we couldn't eat it, had very little chicken in it, mostly was sauce, was as hot as a madras, kids burger bun was burnt, not good. Won't be coming back.

Had a takeaway. The food was tasty, really enjoyed it. Only negative was I thought the starter portions were quite small compared to other Indian take always I’ve had. Good menu with lots of choices. Would recommend

We found this cafe in Sept 2023 while on holiday in the area for 2 weeks. We ate here alot, so again this year for our 2024 holiday we have visited numerous times. We always sit outside in the corner with our dog. To start it is close to beach, car park and access to bus stops if you were on public transport. The views are amazing hench we love coming even on a windy day. We always have the toasties, wraps and soup with a sweet treat to follow. The food is well good. Great prices Clean and tidy, friendly staff x We notice as well its always busy so we obviously arent the only ones who like it. Thanks to the staff for the amazing service xx

Absolutely amazing and tasty ice cream. £2.60 for two scoops. I tried the Rocky Road flavour which was delicious. Highly recommend.

Hadn't been here for sometime and we were delighted to see how well it looked and the tables were well spaced out. The service and the food were very good. There were three of us and we all had fish and chips and the were great. Really good food at very reasonable prices. Will be returning.

Friendly cheerful staff, food was good and still really hot when we got back to our holiday cottage five miles away.

Right next to where we stayed this little cafe was calling out for us to get coffee and cake. The cake offering was very good with lots of choice and the same with the drinks. Both were delicious - however, the service was so slow due to there being one member of staff trying to manage everything with a queue forming outside and orders coming in on an app. There needs to be more people helping.
