The best restaurants in Scottish Borders Lowlands

5/5 stars! I had an amazing dining experience at this Japanese restaurant today! The chicken chahan chicken and chicken yakisoba I ordered were incredibly delicious - the flavors were rich and savory. But what made my visit even more special was the friendly and attentive staff. They were so sweet and welcoming! Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine. ♥️

Best wee local pub. Great pool table and friendly staff, local family owned and run. Often a free buffet supplied and always great grub.

Outstanding quality of food and coffee. Proper artisan handmade products, some of the best I’ve tasted, the cookies are to die for and the owner was extremely friendly.

Lovely coffee and ham and mozzarella cheese toastie! Very pleasant staff and accommodating! Will definitely come again.

This place is AMAZING. Their chicken wings are the best I've ever tasted. The staff are so courteous and friendly. Service was fast & efficient and the food was all cooked to perfection. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity. I can really recommend them, and we will definitely be back.

We come in weekly my husband loves the oysters and I love the wings. Everyone is so nice but, the best experience we had was talking with Zach. He is so passionate about his job and and an amazing you man. His oyster specials have actually made me like oysters too!! He is definitely an asset to the establishment.

We are absolutely heart broken as we just wanted to check on Audrey but it was very very sad to know that she had to quit coz of us today we specially went in for a collection just to see her again and apologise and ask about her and sadly heard that she left Shocking its all our fault as we said to her it's freezing cold in hear and if we could get our meal quicker but she was shouted by the boss in the kitchen as we could hear in the front I was almost in tears and when she left the other couple at the table also agreed that it's always cold in there i would never come back at this disgusting restaurant where they have no value for human being. I would not recommend this place to anyone who will really understand my heart feeling words feel sorry for Audrey... will miss you Audrey

We booked a birthday spa treat, having previously eaten at the hotel. Surroundings are beautiful , but using the outdoor pool felt like an endurance test and could not have been described even as warm. Similarly, the relaxation area was chilly and sitting around in cold, wet costumes, having been provided with only one towel and one (inevitably sopping and cold) robe was somewhat miserable, especially as that also had to suffice after a final shower. The very small hot tub was full throughout our stay; clearly it's not big enough. Changing facilities were cramped, and my friend changed in the shower cubicle for privacy. Lockers are very narrow and full after a winter coat has gone in. If I'd known toiletries were minimal, I'd have brought some. The day wasn't a disaster, but it was disappointing and I've had much better experiences at less costly spas, both at home and abroad.

Came in to get my daughter something to eat. It was towards the end of the night and they were cleaning up. Place was spotless. I've never seen such a clean shop where there's a lot of frying. A great sign. And indeed the fish and chips was excellent. We live in Edinburgh so we are not around often but I've bookmarked it so I don't forget to come back.

This hotel stay has been exceptional. There is an ambiance of tranquility which would be worth millions if it could be bottled. The staff were superb and the food was to die for, all of which added to creating that “wow” feeling. I would definitely recommend the tasting menu.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Food is delicious, and the staff are very friendly and cheery. One of the best curries we've ever had.

Best food in the Borders

Clean and country-contemporary. Very pleasant service. Dropped in for a bite to eat - really good soup and bacon roll, I'm sure they'd have toasted the bun if I'd asked them to. The bar area looks nice, and dogs are welcome on that side of the establishment.
