Great cafe. I had a bacon bun and a pot of tea ( big pot , three mugs ). Nice girls , even charged my phone as I was in a bit of a pickle.

Great locally sourced fish, our menu (fish) options were haddock and monkfish scampi. We both had the haddock & chips and it was lovely. The diner overlooks the ferry terminal so interesting to watch all the comings & goings. An excellent, good value meal. Highly recommend.

Good food at a good price. Order online ahead of time (earlier in the day) and drop by to pick up. Or drop by and order and pick up. It was a pleasant surprise while in town. Places to park by pier, just pull up or walk up and order. Picture shows room to park if needed. Old cafe next door with outside sitting, didn’t look open, so could sit at tables possibly.

We booked our visit for the tasting menu and each course was a triumph. Ranging from a series elegant starters to very tasty mains and refreshing sweets. It was "tour de force" from start to finish. For this experience there is no menu and I lost count of the number of courses but each one was described in detail by the friendly and attentive staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Nicely done everyone and we’d have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to others.

Very attractive inside( we were in the barrel vaulted room).Scallop starter was gorgeous, Mackerel Caesar Salad excellent too.DH’s Oysters were top notch (second only to those from Port Askaig on Islay , his standard against which all are judged.) Bavette steak was nicely done.Chips were a bit odd…coin sized slices of potato, some a bit overly crunchy.Disappointing. Sticky toffee pudding was nice but tasted more of chocolate rather than toffee. Menu - could have been a bit more extensive re shellfish.I didn’t like some of the combos…not sure a fish as good as monkfish should be served in a curry; couscous as a side always puts me off too.A bit more traditional, simple accompaniments to fish would have appealed to me more.eg creamy mash or quality chips or dauphinoise.

Stopped for the night while doing the NC500 with my husband and 8 + 9 year old kids, one of the only places in Thurso that you can have a sit down meal! Absolutely delicious meal, got the chicken Ceylon roll as a starter and it came out piping hot and so fresh!! The flavours were absolutely amazing! My husband had the medium spice chicken Ceylon curry and said it was amazing, the flavours and spices were absolutely spot on! I had the mild beef Ceylon curry and it was equally as good! All cooked fresh to order and you can tell as it was piping hot and so fresh to taste! There is a children’s menu for the fussier eaters, my daughter had spaghetti and my son had a burger and there was no complaints from them! Our first time trying Sri Lanka food and won’t be our last thanks to this restaurant! Staff are delightful as well☺️

Been a few times when on holiday and daughter (3) enjoys it but felt this visit was a bit let down by the scruffy uncleared tables and it felt a bit grubby as there were toys and food everywhere and play area was chaos. A few broken toys and play kitchen lacking items - that area could be improved. Daughter didn’t linger there. It was quite busy but the owner was not around this time and the girls were not massively welcoming or very good at clearing up and people arrived to dirty tables. I tidied up the toy area as the kids could not get through the entrance. If tables are dirty you worry more about general soft play hygiene and it gives a grubby feel. I think there was a bouncy castle upstairs but nobody told us so we were not sure if that was a private party. Didn’t eat as food seemed a bit generic. Could hardly stand at the counter for bikes and toys so just ordered coffee and tea which was fine. (Bigger mugs would be nice though and easier to clear up). Might have had a cake if we could have seen any and if it was homemade. Dont think a baby-cino was available - or a smoothie - could do with some healthier options but was hard to see properly as counter was obstructed by toys. No menu on table. But daughter enjoyed the soft play and it is nice to have somewhere to take her when in town. Would like to try the craft activities in future. She would have enjoyed that.
