Pleasantly surprised with the food and service supplied by the host Clive,he looked after us and chatted to us like old regulars. Only 5 tables but a lovely experience. Thank you Clive.

We had dinner in this cute inn during our tour through Scotland and the Highlands. We stayed in a beautiful guest house and they suggested we have dinner there. But since Strathy is not so crowded, you need to book a table in advance. We stopped by in the morning: if you ring the bell, the owner will kindly come and book you the table, scheduling the time at which you'll have to be there. The dinner was really really good, they have a menu with the classical starters, main courses and dessert + a dish of the day. All typical scottish receipts. We took the dish of the day and it was really delicious. Same for the dessert! The owner is very kind and friendly and very supportive in helping you with the explanations of the dishes or with any needs. And it's also very nice to chat with him about everything. We felt very warm welcome and we thank him for his kindness and for the delicious dinner we had! Hope to come back soon, one day! Super suggested!! Oliviero and Silvia, from Milan

Comfortable family run B&B. We stayed in a spacious and airy double room with an en suite shower room. Breakfast was home cooked and excellent. There was a bar/restaurant attached offering a good range of home-cooked food (including vegetarian and vegan options) and a fully stocked bar.

Dette var en av overnattingen på NC500. Forhåndsbestilt lenge før, men fikk venlig mail om jeg ville reservere bord til kveldsmat👍. Liker og overnatte på mindre steder og her var det 6 rom. Veldig hyggelig mottagelse og stort rom , veldig stort bad , rent og roligt. Ble sittende i baren og prate med innehaveren på kvelden og fikk mye god informasjon. Kan absolutt anbefales

Me and my girlfriend had the most amazing and authentic experience you could ask from a Scottish dinner. Strathy Inn is a small hotel with a delicious pub on the NC500. Craig is the perfect host, he suggested us the best plates and beers to have, places close by to visit in the next day. We have had haggies dumplings and lentil’s pie as starters, Yorkshire pudding and steak pie as main, Sticky toffee pudding as dessert. Everything was delicious and homemade! If we would come back in the area we would not think twice about visiting the Strathy Inn again. The hotel did not have vacant rooms at the time so we could not experience that but we wouldn’t hesitate about sleeping there! Thank you Craig for the time spent together

Scared gravel car park! Not fit for purpose if riding a motorcycle. Managed to bury my front wheel in eight inches of loose gravel, it took 2 of us to push the bike out. Food was ok… all bulk cooked stews, obviously home made but frozen and defrosted to order. Cakes looked great. There was a real sense that the people had lost interest in this place. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.

The rooms are wonderful and quiet and a good nights sleep guaranteed. Craig the perfect host ensuring your stay is what you hoped for. Close by the Strathy Lighthouse.

Great find we were staying in Melvich and looked for somewhere to eat before we left home as there were 6 of us so booked it. Does not look much from the outside and is small but the host was very welcoming and the food was excellent. Good choice and all freshly cooked.

This is possibly one of the best B&Bs in Scotland. We were greeted with a smile and shown to our room. Spotlessly clean and spacious. The fittings are not modern but are in keeping with the spirit and character of the room. The bed was comfy and the selection of refreshments added to this comfort. We really enjoyed our dinner, served by our excellent host who took an interest in our journey and offered some much appreciated advice. I absolutely cannot recomment the venison casserole and whisky cheesecake enough - watch out masterchef! Breakfast lived up to the standard set with dinner, our hosts coukd not have been any more attentive than they were. Truly a gem and we are so grateful to have spent the night here.

Nous avons passé une merveilleuse soirée dans cet établissement très cosy. 4 tables seulement donc pensez bien à réserver car la nourriture est si bonne qu'il peut être difficile d'avoir une réservation. Le tarif est plus que raisonnable ! Comptez environ 12 à 14 livres le plat et 4 à 6 livres pour le dessert. Le monsieur est charmant, de très bons conseils autant sur les bières que sur les activités locales. Nous avons d'ailleurs suivi sa recommandation et nous sommes allés voir strathy point, c'était magnifique ! Merci à vous. Nous recommandons cet établissement bien évidemment.

Sehr familiär, Wirt höchst sympathisch und hilfsbereit sowie flexibel, was die Küche angeht. Essen schmeckt hervorragend. Urige Athmosphäre!

Lovely host and Great freshly cooked homemade food, Make sure you book due to Covid reduced capacity regulations. We went three nights on the trot booking after each meal.

Twice we attempted to go to this place for food and drinks to no avail. Please update your online information as we drove for miles to come here. Very disappointed.

wir haben dieses lokal geliebt. es ist einfach, authentisch und das essen ist ausgezeichnet, der Wirt sehr nett. es gibt nur wenig Plätze, früh kommen oder reservieren

An jenem Abend logierten wir im Strathy Inn B&B und da wir so müde von der langen Fahrt waren, gingen wir ins dazugehörende Pub zu Abend essen. Es stellte sich als eine gute Entscheidung heraus. Der Tisch, den sie uns vorbereitet hatten, war in einer ruhigen Ecke. Das Menue konnte man einer Tafel an der Wand entnehmen und dann an der Bar bestellen. Nebst schottischer und britischer Küche gibt es jeweils ein Curry of the Week. Die Portionen waren sehr grosszügig und die Preise angemessen. Der Nachtisch ist auf jeden Fall eine Sünde wert, wir hatten einen speziellen Brownie-Eis Kuchen und einen Whiskey-Cheescake mit Fudge. Dass die Bar vorne von Einheimischen besetzt war, obwohl das Lokal eher abgelegen liegt, ist unserer Meinung nach auch ein Indikator, dass das Wirtepaar etwas richtig macht.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und bedient. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, frisch gekocht und sehr schmackhaft. Auch das hausgemachte Sorbet sowie der vom Haus empfohlene Whisky rundeten das Essen ab. Da das Pub, Restaurant sehr klein ist, unbedingt reservieren.

ll vedi da fuori, poi se fai come me che prima vai in bagno (bellissimo perchè è ancora prima dell'ingresso del bar ) pensi che di essere a rischio botulino. Poi entri con un titolare che ti accoglie con molta serenità e disposnibilità, ti fa accomodare in una bella saletta (eravamo in tre coppie a cenare) con un menu scritto su una lavagnetta e con un 30 pounds: io prendo una pie di carne di maiale veramente molto buona, la mia compagna pollo al carry (piu birra e il tipico gelato delle highlinads), che dire tutto veramente buono (forse magari un po lenti nel servire ) . Ma a quel prezzo e in quel posto dimenticato dal signore, potrebbero darti da mangiare qualsiasi cose e invece se siete da quelle parti che sono di per se isolatissima mi sa che la vostra scelta migliore è proprio andare li. Poi il proprietario è anche un vero amante delll'italia visto che la visita spesso con molti amici .

Got the hint from the B&B to stop there for dinner on my way coming. Good tip! Friendly owners, nice atmosphere with fireplace and piano, enjoyed my dinner next to it. I suppose it is more crowded in summer.

Wir waren zum Abendessen hier (Reservierung sinnvoll!). Kleiner Pub, ausgesprochen netter Barkeeper, sehr aufmerksam. Gemütlicher Gastraum mit prasselndem Kaminfeuer. Ich hatte ein vegetarisches Curry mit dreierlei Bohnen, Reis und Gemüse, mein Mann ein Hühnercurry mit Naanbrot und Reis. Beides sehr gut und authentisch gewürzt und schmackhaft. Wirklich lecker! Zum Nachtisch gab es für uns noch Schokoladen-Haggis und Whiskey nach Empfehlung. Preislich sehr gut, wirklich empfehlenswert!

Nous avons séjourné une nuit dans cette auberge, sur la côte Nord de l'Ecosse. Cet établissement ne paie pas de mine de l'extérieur, notamment avec son gigantesque (pour l'endroit) parking en gravier siégeant devant lui. Mais tout cela change dès que l'on pénètre à l'intérieur. Les hôtes sont particulièrement charmant et l'accueil est très chaleureux. La chambre est confortable et spacieuse et l'environnement plus que calme, malgré le fait que la route principale passe à côté (traffic quasi inexistant même en juillet ^^).Nous recommandons de manger sur place. Les hôtes tiennent également le petit bar/restaurant attenant et, de fait, font eux-mêmes à manger. Plats locaux délicieux et petite salle à manger (3 tables) cosy et chaleureuse. Par contre, il est préférable de réserver à l'avance car le restaurant est aussi ouvert au public. Le bar est également très accueillant avec un joli choix de whiskies, bières et autres cidres. Nous avons passé une magnifique soirée grâce aux hôtes et en leur compagnie !!! Finalement le petit déjeuner est succulent avec un grand choix de mets cuisinés. Les hôtes font tout de A à Z, ce qui donne une ambiance très chaleureuse et amicale. Nous le recommandons donc sans hésiter !!!

This is a tiny pub, which only has three or four tables. The owner/manager was very friendly. We enjoyed a home-cooked meal, which had some good variations on your usual pub grub, which we appreciated.

We had diner twice at this place, recommended by our B&B; host lady at Armadale House. The quality of the dishes is really outstanding. It's the only place in this neighborhood where you can eat, but in case you would be lodged at few miles form this place, I would strongly recommend to book a table at this place!!!

Eating here was a delight and took us back to a different era. The wooden clock on the mantelpiece reminded me of my grandparents front room. The eating area is quite small so I was advised at our B&B; to phone ahead and book. The atmosphere was quite quiet but we felt that was keeping with the area. There was lots of lovely home cooked food to choose from including a rather unusual delicious orange and lemon sponge pudding for dessert. This is a lovely part of Scotland, enjoy !

Excellent food and plenty of it. The hosts were very welcoming and there was a lovely roaring fire when you arrived.

Delicious Scottish meals! The desserts were also great, especially the homemade Corkney fudge and whisky cheesecake!

We had an unforgettable stay at the Strathy Inn comfortable cosy room spotlessly clean large room with en suite lovely and quiet. We chose to eat both nights and were not disappointed the food was first class perfectly cooked by Heather fresh home cooked food nothing to beat it The restaurant come bar is very cosy as well which leads to an atmosphere of being able to converse with the other guests. The whole experience was wonderful and it's a great base to explore the area plenty to do and see from visiting the Catle of May , John O Grouts, walking to Strathy Point visiting Strathnavar museum following the highland clearances route and lots more you really need a few days to enjoy all that is on the doorstep even a day trip to Orkney a truly fantastic part of Scotland and a lovely home from home created by hosts Heather and Craig who offer lots of advice on the surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent lots of choices. Thank you Heather and Craig for being great hosts keep doing what you do it's a wonderful place to relax thank you both we will be back .

We stayed here for one night only, on our way to Orkney, but would definitely return if in the area.

Enjoyed our overnight stay with good food, attentive service and comfortable room. I would comment that if booking an upstairs room, the more "mature" guest might like to bear in mind that the stairs are very narrow and steep.

Nos alojamos aquí por 2 noches, y nuestra habitación estaba muy limpia y era cómoda, con todas las instalaciones que necesitábamos. Acceso gratuito a Internet de banda ancha, Onsuite. más de espacio adecuado para nosotros dos. El hotel está dirigido por un equipo de marido y mujer, que son muy acogedores. El bar y el restaurante son muy acogedoras sólo hay 3 mesas en el restaurante + una pequeña zona de bar. Pero la comida es estupenda, cocina casera con ingredientes locales. El desayuno también es excelente, con una selección razonable ofrecido.

Nette, aufmerksame Bedienung, angenehmes Ambiente und gutes Essen. Genau was man von einem Pub erwartet.

Lovely food perfect after a long day. Really lovely dishes and a varied menu that I personally would have eaten 3/4 things on all of the party of 5 had a different dish and all enjoyed very much. Highly recommended.

Un poco de bastante bonito lugar era simplemente regla sobrecarga. No es lo que necesita después de un largo día. Tuve que firmar un formulario para decir lo que yo y no por el Wifi gratis! Pregunté por lavar la ropa y me cobraron 5 libras por 5 artículos! También se tomaron de pago antes de que me gustaría incluso aparezca.

Acogedor Inn justo a la vuelta de la esquina de la casa que alquilamos durante la semana. Después de visitar un par de veces durante la semana para una bebida que elegimos este para la comida en nuestra última noche, y no nos decepcionó. Los 3 campos eran muy agradables, y la noche realzada por una buena conversación con la mesa vecina.

No te dejes desanimar por el exterior, un trabajo en progreso. Dirigido por un equipo formado por marido y mujer, trabajando arduamente. Comida casera y una excelente relación calidad-precio.

Good friendly host. The menu is limited but still a very good choice. Both myself and my wife enjoyed the meals served which were good sized portions with a variety of fresh veg. The Stathy's main claim to fame for me was a large variety of Scottish beers (bottled) including varous beers from Orkney.

We stopped here for an Saturday evening meal in October. We were the only people in there, but Craig, the owner, was very friendly & helpful. They stock a good selection of bottled beers. The menu was varied and we both enjoyed very tasty, home-cooked food in the cosy lounge next to the roaring open fire.

A very pleasant place ; host very friendly !Food was good and before we could have a drink in the louge near the fire place...We were delighted by this moment !
