Jamieson's Bakery in Highland

Tijdens een bezoek aan Thurso waren we toe aan koffie en besloten die te gaan drinken bij deze bakkerij. We dronken een flinke mok Cappuccino en aten daar wat shortbread bij voor een nette prijs. Aardige mensen, leuke plaats.

A simple place where locals come to enjoy pastries, breakfast snacks, etc. The products are very good, the service efficient with friendly people. Of course we eat on tables with an oilcloth, but here no superfluities just quality and conviviality

Down to earth bakery with friendly staff and home made food.

Very busy place. Got a bacon and egg roll. Made fresh but worth the wait. Friendly staff. Will go back. They are closed on Sundays.

Great wee gem in the heart of Thurso, food spot on, no frills just perfect. The homemade apple pie is so morerish. Very friendly staff, n decent coffee. It’s been our go place whilst here on holiday. Can’t fault it. If ever I’m back up this way I will be back xx

Good selection at decent prices.

I was there with three of my friends on a bike trip, our hotel cancelled breakfast as the chef was ill so we wandered aimlessly around Thurso looking for somewhere to have breakfast until we found this oasis of food. Breakfasts consumed and a big thanks to the staff for putting up with our nonsense, if we are back in the area we will be back and we will certainly recommend this little gem for food. (Hopefully you will remember us, the 4 bikers, two from England and two from Scotland.

My husband and my self had lunch 2 days running , the home made soup is delicious and the apple pie is the best I’ve ever had ,we recommend this cafe as the food is delicious and the staff friendly and helpful and great value for money .

Lovely little bakery - we are outside as it was so busy! Friendly staff. Had coffees and homemade soup which was absolutely delightful and really warmed us up on a cold January afternoon.

disappointing! Stood at the counter for a good few minutes, no one in the queue, three staff on the counter, no-one acknowledged me, smiled, or took my order or even a ‘I’ll be with you in a minute!’ Unfriendly, left without ordering anything.

It was excellent and perfect! We arrived tired from a bike ride and the ladies who checked us in were lovely. Patience, generosity, speed, welcome and even humor. Everything was perfect. Mention for the really delicious sandwiches and the apple pie to complement mamamia! Hi from France, see you another time.

Nice friendly staff but expensive

Great food great service great time Lovely staff great sense of humour food cooked exactly the way you want it. We love it here it’s our go to place for food out My dad is 91 and the ladies treat him as their own.

It's so refreshing to find places with good customer service and enough staff to match demand, and reasonable prices!! My server was the manager Linda Mack, a larger than life woman working 100 miles an hour and keeping the team busy, and she told me she loved me because I didn't take a glass for my lucozade - Superb customer service!! Highly recommend but wifi provision and maybe background music/radio would be good.

We recently visited Thurso and visited Jamieson's Bakery. We stopped in for a small bite and tea, We were greeted warmly by the staff and seated promptly. Our server was very pleasant, polite and informative. We ordered coffee drinks, tea, pastries and macaroni pie. The food and drinks were served promptly and hot. The macaroni pie was cheesy and flavorful. The macaroni was prepared perfectly. We will visit Jamieson's again.

At the end of our walk today we decided to have a coffee at this lovely place. We sat outside and the staff came out to take our orders. Ordered with the coffee I had one of their sausage rolls. The coffee arrived very quickly as did the sausage roll. The coffee was full flavoured, hot and very good. The sausage roll was delicious. The staff were polite, friendly and the whole visit here was something I’d recommend.

Sausage roll was nice but the BLACK coffee had milk in it. The lady asked 3 times if I wanted milk in my black coffee, even when I answered NO, I still found milk in it when I came to drink it at the ferry port.

Lovely, friendly staff who were doing an excellent job of managing a busy day! We had the all day breakfast, large sausage roll and cheese and bacon panini, all were delicious! Found the prices to be really good as well, would definitely return.

Sat here now and what a lovely cafe this is , very friendly staff who have made our family holiday the best ever, seating inside and outside where we sat with my sons dog , food was hot and very nice ..in fact it was delicious....

Still had to do track & trace. Soup could be heated in microwave. Big breakfast was £7.90 & u got beans (not heinz), 2 sausages (not butcher/meaty), 2 bacon, 1 egg, 1 tomato, 1 piece toast & tea or coffee. Tables were sticky with the stuff they use to clean them.

Very tasty items sold in the cafe, only negative would be maybe soup amd sausage roll not hot enough. Would recommend having a heated display cabinet for pies etc. Very friendly staff.

Basic, but very nice food and drink and more importantly, a brilliant, warm Scottish welcome and a busy shop/cafe in the heart of Thurso. Brilliant.

Went for a tea and scone. Staff very nice and helpful. Small bakery but scone was lovely and hubby had a home made steak pie and he said it was lovely too. Would definitely go back ans recommend

Unfriendly staff. Low quality food. I mean, who wants a mushy sausage? Coffee was nice. Toilet was disgusting.

Went here for a breakfast, the food was ok but you need to remortgage the house to pay for it. Not Value for money at all.

I have given up on getting a decent cappuccino this far North and the service was begrudgingly welcoming I do love Scotland I think it must be the dreich weather up here. Had the minestrone soup which was tasty enough and locally warmed! Enough said about the so called coffee.

,popped in here for a bacon roll and a tea, staff very pleasant and food very good,very quick service,would defiantly return when in the area.

We visited this cafe while doing the north coast 500 and we were very satisfied with the food, fresh baked bread nice and thick and a glorious full English breakfast everything fresh and very friendly staff would deffo recommend!!!

Tasty food & generous serving sizes

We stopped briefly for bread and cakes to take back to our accommodation. The shortbread was satisfying chunky, and there was a range of other cakes to choose from. If you are looking for a bakery in the town centre of Thurso, this is a good place to visit.

Even the better pie, will become FLOPPY! :-( Staff: just professional (not exactly homey…). Price per value: for what we enjoyed, too much.

We stopped here as we were looking for coffee and cake. We found both in this small cafe attached to a bakery. The cappuccino was smooth and delicious and the cakes were good size portions. Great value for money and friendly local service.

In the day of modern bistros and coffee houses this is an old fashioned cafe. In my opinion the better choice as prices are very reasonable and service excellent. It had a 'homely' feel and atmosphere and made you feel very welcome. They make a great cup of tea and the food was good. There was also a steady flow of customers even though my visit was later in the afternoon, a time when most cafe's are getting ready to close. In my experience a good flow of customers usually means a good place to visit. This was certainly true in this case.

Avoid, witnessed staff starting work without washing hands, stale bakery goods, very overpriced for quality level.

The cafe in Jamieson’s bakery is a small, plain sort of place with half a dozen tables. The simple menu includes a good selection of hot snacks and sandwiches as well as cakes and pies.Along with our tea and coffee we shared a very large slice of deep filled apple pie which was fabulous, and highly recommended.Service was very friendly and we would certainly come back.

Nice place for coffee break with fresh tasty bakery and very welcome staff. There was a wide choice of pies and cakes, indoor and outdoor tables.

I had received a lift from a lady from Thurso Station the previous night and she had told me about her bakery, my visit didn't disappoint. A mug of coffee and a chunk of home made apple pie and cream. Such a busy bakery too, and really friendly. A nice way to spend a few moments relaxing with your favourite magazine.

Good all day breakfast and great coffee.

We bought savoury pastries and cake for our picnic and both were delicious. The lady was charming, offering to heat the savouries if we so wished. This is the sort of bakery sadly missing from most high streets

Looking for a nice place for breakfast, we had a glimpse of locals happily chatting inside and of appetizing pastries.

One day visitors to Thurso and went in here for lunch. Would like to have stayed and gone back again as there was other stuff I would like to have tried. Had a scotch pie and it was great as well as cake which was also nice. Staff were good and and the prices were fine. Very busy as you might expect but there were enough staff and they were doing well at keeping up. The UK has a bit more insrant coffee than suits me but they had a real coffee option that was fine.

Decidimos probar el por qué está al en vez de basado en el comentarios favorables. Resultó ser una panadería muy notable no caro con opciones de desayuno caliente. Los bollos estaban bastante peor que en en 2 semanas en la carretera. "capuchino" era Nescafé instantáneo con algunos "dieron leche".

Quick lunch was required and that's what I got. Quick and friendly service, meal was very good and very reasonable.

Opciones fiables y sabroso. Tienes que llegar temprano para conseguir los rollos de queso, ya que se venden rápidamente. Tienen un mostrador bien equilibrada con panes, bollos, dulces, y comidas calientes y dulces. Muy particular para el queso y tocino, y no importa si es en caliente o en frío.

Leuke, echt lokale, bakkerij met typische Schotse lekkernijen als gingerbread en Scotisch pie. Simpel van opzet maar dat heeft in het hoge noorden zeker z'n charme.

Regularly visit for morning rolls and at the weekend croisants. Lovely pies and sausage rolls too. Always a warm welcome from staff and the "breakfast club" attend every day and put the world to rights.

Scotch pie is easily the best I've ever had and trust me I've had a few! Staff amazing coffee ok but if you want a pie in Scotland this is the place

Great food and great service. Sat outside in the sun with our dog who was also offered his own bowl of water. Hard to find a place that provides whilst out with your dog. Fantastic staff.

There fresh cream cakes are lovely. Lovely selection of baking products, also have the option to eat in, also serves hot drinks. Very friendly and hard working staff, very popular, right in the town centre.

Was in county of Caithness area visiting friend and called here for morning refreshments, whilst in Thurso. We had 2 cappuccinos (I had 2 as so good), Hot chocolate and tea and fruit scone, butter and jam. All very good
