Been a few times when on holiday and daughter (3) enjoys it but felt this visit was a bit let down by the scruffy uncleared tables and it felt a bit grubby as there were toys and food everywhere and play area was chaos. A few broken toys and play kitchen lacking items - that area could be improved. Daughter didn’t linger there. It was quite busy but the owner was not around this time and the girls were not massively welcoming or very good at clearing up and people arrived to dirty tables. I tidied up the toy area as the kids could not get through the entrance. If tables are dirty you worry more about general soft play hygiene and it gives a grubby feel. I think there was a bouncy castle upstairs but nobody told us so we were not sure if that was a private party. Didn’t eat as food seemed a bit generic. Could hardly stand at the counter for bikes and toys so just ordered coffee and tea which was fine. (Bigger mugs would be nice though and easier to clear up). Might have had a cake if we could have seen any and if it was homemade. Dont think a baby-cino was available - or a smoothie - could do with some healthier options but was hard to see properly as counter was obstructed by toys. No menu on table. But daughter enjoyed the soft play and it is nice to have somewhere to take her when in town. Would like to try the craft activities in future. She would have enjoyed that.

We attended Pottery and Prosecco on a Friday night and really enjoyed ourselves. Lovely atmosphere and very well priced. Young host was lovely and very professional. Will definitely be back!

Me and my partner wanted to support the local businesses and checked this place out for bringing our kids in the future whilst waiting for a mot . Sadly there were NO vegan options available to eat 😕 couldn’t see any vegan options on the menu either . They did however have oat milk to make a coffee which was good of them . Would love to be catered for so we would feel comfortable with bringing the kids to do events here . Even if you had a few vegan staple ingredients *cheese - which you can get in most wholesalers - *vegan bread (without milk in) and some * vegan spread /flora/stork /any other vegan butters (the one you have might be vegan ) - there would be one option you could offer as a sandwich or toastie . Or a vegan cheese jacket potato . Most * baked beans are vegan too . You’ve created 3 options .

What an absolutely smashing place to bring your kids. Great fun with so much to do to keep the kids entertained, great coffees, tea, milkshakes and cakes and juice for the kids, great prices and the best customer service. Top play space for kids in the county.

We popped in for some breakfast and some play time with our 11m old while on holiday here in Thurso and had a lovely time. Our little one enjoyed some toast and then playing on the different toys both downstairs and upstairs. We had the breakfast wraps which where yummy too. The cakes looked delicious but we didn’t have any. They also have different play sessions which you can attend and pottery painting. Only reason it didn’t get 5 rating was because there was a few electric toys which didn’t work otherwise it was a lovely soft play and if we lived locally we would go again. Messy Nessy was certainly not messy it was clean and tidy.

Family Friendly cafe and soft play centre with amazing food for such a reasonable price. The centre is good for all ages with craft groups ranging from painting to glass work. From baby workshops to adult only groups.

We booked for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Fabulous vibe, and the restaurant was really busy. There was a slight delay in being served, but the food we had was excellent. We ordered cauliflower pakora for starter to share with a bottle of water and bottle of sauvignon blanc. We ordered the winter salad with chicken and one without with a side of fries. All was delicious and will definitely go back. Including 10% tip total cost was £83.95.

We had a wonderful diner with perfect plates of local cheese, dried meat and bread served with a perfect wine. Thanks a lot for the perfect diner.

We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!
