We didn’t have a booking but the restaurant fitted us in which we really appreciated. We were not disappointed the food was exceptional and so was the service. The menu is small, but perfect. We all ordered a different main course and none of us were disappointed. I have a starter again, beautiful and the rest of the party a dessert again fantastic. The complimentary soup was a nice touch too. It was the first evening of our stay and it could not have been any better. A really great restaurant. Thank you.

We stayed for one night in the Signal Box building, our room was very comfortable and clean and great to get a very close up view of any passing trains! ( there were only a few a day). We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast ( and then lunch again!) in the station house restaurant and the food was amazing. Huge portions, and very friendly staff. Our lunch when we arrived was just a sandwich from the honesty box that had been set up as they were closed to lunch bookings that day but then reopened from 6.30pm that night and we ate loads of seriously tasty food. We also managed to do the four hour 14km circuit of nearby Loch Ossian. We didn’t have great weather on the day we were there but made the best of it. We saw the Estate House and some lodges at the opposite side of the loch on our walk and a very interesting high tech dam system just before the Estate House. We highly recommend a visit to Corrour Station House( with a stay in the Signal Box if you can find availability- they said it’s fully booked for the rest of this year) 😍

Really friendly family owed restaurant. We just stopped in for a quick bit to hold us over to dinner. I had the apple pie and my husband had a slice of some type of lemon pie/cake. The apple pie was good. I also had a large tea while my husband had coffee. Very relaxed environment. The owner was really friendly and has two dogs which are nice and mellow. There are snacks for sale already packaged for travel. We took some freshly baked snacks for later that night (i really do not remember what we had…only it was good). The restaurant offers local artist crafts for sale. We Recommend a stop in for a quick bit to eat.

I stayed for one night only - having heard about this place, and pounced on the single slot when I saw it. It's worth the drive up from Glasgow and ferry from Mallaig to get here even for one night: my room was spacious, beautifully furnished and very comfortable, with a seating area with a view of the amazing beach. The owner Sue is a warm, charming host and an absolutely amazing cook, providing a fantastic three-course dinner while sloshing wine into glasses and encouraging guests and other diners to relax and interact. Breakfast is awesome, as the Americans say. I hired a bike and sweated up (then down) the hill to get here, but don't be put off by that - the island taxi/minibus is always on-hand, and they do excellent tea and cakes at their base nearly next door - but that's another story.

Situated just outside invergarry on the A837 this is the ideal stop for teas/coffees and snacks. Staffed by volunteers it is open Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday through the summer season. Other days there is a pizza van in the car park. Homely atmosphere with emphasis on freshly cooked food. It is also the heritage centre with information on the locality together with the history. Toilets are housed within the same building which are lovely and clean. No charge but there is a donations box. Wish there were more villages offering the same facilities as Glengarry.

One of if not the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had! 3 courses under £20 too. The pate is the best I’ve had, I had lamb main and my partner had beef, both spot on. Perfectly sized portions leaving you full but not uncomfortable. Brilliant service in a Covid safe environment. Compliments to the chef!

Very impressed. Jenny and partner who run it are very sociable. Both very knowledgeable about everything on the island and were keen to talk me through what there was to see and do on Rum and all aspects of living there. The shop also operates as a community hub and is a great place to meet and hang out with whichever islanders happen to be there. Everyone without exception was very friendly and welcoming. You can get a tea or coffee there. Jenny didn't have any soup on but kindly said I could buy a tin and she'd heat it in the microwave. The shop itself is really well stocked. Wish I'd known just how well stocked and I would have saved myself the weight and capacity of bringing things from the mainland. Things I bought included a box of grapes, crisps, a tin of sweetcorn, soup and roll, a coffee, a laminated OS map of Rum, a pie, ground coffee, an Our Wullie gift box and tablet. Things that were available included eggs, cheese, milk, fresh fruit and veg, bread, all manner of tinned goodies, pasta, rice, soft drinks, alcohol. The shop also operates as a post office some of the time. Perhaps best to get in touch if you're not sure whether they will stock something. Definitely the place to head to when you land and to meet some really kind and interesting people as well as stock up.

Well, what can I say. Stayed here for two nights to attend a funeral. I knew it was going to be great when, arriving at 22 45, Kieron welcomed me and I climbed the stairs to my single room…..and the floors creaked. Allways a good sign of an excellent hotel when the floors do that, never failed me. Fantastic little room, attention to detail was superb. Breakfast was out of this world, skillfully prepared and beautifully presented. I didnt need lunch…….. Superb “wake” served for around 30 people , amazing soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee and chocolate pudding to die for, so light and guilt free ! Meal in the bistro for me, two cousins and my 9? year old Aunty after the wake.Ina could not have been more attentive. Enjoy this couples excellent service while you can, retirement beckons for them after 23 years !
