It was such a pleasure to visit this cafe and a welcome contrast to the pre-paid accommodation ran by some racketeer at Ivy Cottage. We took one look at what was on offer and fled to next ferry to Mallaig. I went to school in Inverie in 1948- 49. when the priest had an affair with our teacher. He wnt on to become bishop of the Westrn Isles while she became an un-married mother

Lovely atmosphere and stunning views out onto Loch Nevis! Friendly young girl too serving! Serves nice selection of food and also sells pottery which I recommend getting as a souvenir! Also one of the most remote cafes on the UK mainland - can only get there by ferry from Mallaig or 18 mile hike over the hills!!!

We spent 18 days in Knoydart and a trip to the Knoydart tearoom and pottery was always one of the highlights of the day. There was always a warm welcome and a range of delicious food which is freshly cooked. The menu has daily specials and the coffee is very good. Would highly recommend to visit when over on Knoydart.

Popped in for lunch on Friday 23 Sept for soup, coffee and scones after a VERY early start from Hamilton to catch the 1000 ferry from Mallaig. Lovely cauliflower soup followed by a smooth coffee and tasty plain scone with butter & jam....with a spectacular view from the picture window. Monday 26 Sept saw us pop in for coffee and fruit scones (straight from the oven) as a wee snack before catching the ferry at 1100hrs Pleasant surrounding and lovely food, with excellent service.....such a pity that it's not open at the weekends, but we all need our days of rest and play. But i think you are missing a trick here?

During our stay in Knoydart, we loved popping in here for lunch, and sitting out on the deck with nothing in front of us but stunning views of the sea and Eigg in the distance. The scones were scrumptious, fresh and fluffy, and when we treated ourselves to large slices of carrot cake, we felt we had hit the jackpot. What a wonderful, quaint, quirky, friendly place. With views to die for. I went there a few times over the weekend. I'm one of those annoying vegans, but I don't ever expect places to cater for me. Especially considering their remoteness. Blown away by the MASSIVE slice of delicious vegan blueberry cake. I ordered a bake potato and beans and the owner (I think?) came over and asked if I wanted vegan cheese with it. You struggle to have that option in a major city, let alone Knoydart. The cakes change daily and the options are mouthwatering. Great options for kids too. It was busy with visitors but you can tell the tearoom is the hub of the community. Just a wonderful place to visit. And you can sit out on the decking watching the boats go by.

Isla and her sister were just fantastic to us when we visited Knoydart. The island has the feeling of major festivities having taken place the night before we arrived. We soon found out that there had been a wedding and our understanding is that many on the island got involved in the festivities. When we arrived at Isla's we were disappointed with ourselves as we had arrived at the island without our walking boots. Isla helped us sort this out (which was absolutely kind and well above and beyond any expectations) while delivering gorgeous coffee, hot chocolate and scones - we were and still remain so grateful

Walking the 20 minutes from our accommodation to this tearoom was about as far as I got, so I ended up being there 3 times during the week for coffee and a cake or scone. The Pottery and Tearoom is a "must visit" port-of-call to Knoydart visitors and is now along with the Village Hall, Inverie's social hub. Food is homemade, wholesome and excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. The evening meals, especially the Lamb Shank with Couscous, are to be recommended and there is always a good vegetarian choice on offer. Now the best Inverie venue to meet up with locals and fellow visitors, cosy and comfortable inside, the new balcony overhangs the sea and views across Loch Nevis are peerless. The Pottery and Tearoom chooses not to have a licence and so take your own wine or beer along to enjoy a convivial and not too expensive evening on Wednesday (when the Old Forge has decided to close), Thursday and Friday during the summer months or pop in for morning tea and coffee and lunchtime and afternoon snacks on Monday to Saturday throughout the year. Definately a place to visit in Inverie and the only place to visit in the heart of the village, during the Old Forge's periods of closure.

After a longer day walking than planned we walked past at about nine, when I'm sure the staff were starting to wind down from a very busy evening service. But they were incredibly welcoming and kept the kitchen going long enough to rustle us up some dinner. At that stage we'd probably have eaten anything, but fortunately we didn't have to - we had two superb dishes followed by a fabulous Cranachan. Very glad the old forge was shut so that we got the chance to eat here twice.

Our group has been here before and has emptied the place of all edibles, this time we were much more refined and received excellent home baked cakes, scones, the baguette I had was stuffed with prawns, the only downside was I had to sit out in the rain and midges with my Bernese Mountain Dog as the kitchen is part of the cafe, but I would suggest its a long shot that the hygiene police would arrive all that way unannounced. Totally recommend this place, if it served beer it would put the poxy Old Forge out of business.

Lovely location overlooking the sea loch. Sat outside had soup and sandwiches followed by ice cream and cake. Coffee good. Waiter very pleasant. Reasonably priced. Only thing could fault was egg mayo in roll was still warm and yolk not hard enough for my liking. Minor grumble.

The photo doesn't do this place justice as it now has a deck on the loch side with beautiful views. We stopped in for breakfast just as it opened for the day. There were 2 vegetarians and a vegan but nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was well cooked and great value and the staff stopped by for a chat. Definitely recommended.

We had tea and scones/cake here twice. The terrace is a sun trap in good weather and the views wonderful. The teapot was generous and the tea good. One day the scone was very good, the other day a bit hard. The cake was nice, though not really £2.95 worth of nice. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were drawn back, hard scone notwithstanding.

We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..

This was a lovely experience, the food was not ' swimming in grease' as i saw from another review, but it was great to see that the more recent reviews have been validated. We went here for my birthday at the end of october and honestly everything was really lovely . the service was great they were so friendly from the getgo, the charcuterie board we had for starter was very filling and diverse just wish they would have told us what the cheeses were ( i think the brie was from tain though it was familair) but thats a minor niggle that we had no info. the main courses were fab the skin on chips were AMAZING , and its a dog friendly place which we loved , we dont have dogs but we did get to pet some which made our day !

Stopped for the night while doing the NC500 with my husband and 8 + 9 year old kids, one of the only places in Thurso that you can have a sit down meal! Absolutely delicious meal, got the chicken Ceylon roll as a starter and it came out piping hot and so fresh!! The flavours were absolutely amazing! My husband had the medium spice chicken Ceylon curry and said it was amazing, the flavours and spices were absolutely spot on! I had the mild beef Ceylon curry and it was equally as good! All cooked fresh to order and you can tell as it was piping hot and so fresh to taste! There is a children’s menu for the fussier eaters, my daughter had spaghetti and my son had a burger and there was no complaints from them! Our first time trying Sri Lanka food and won’t be our last thanks to this restaurant! Staff are delightful as well☺️
