This restaurant re-opened on Wed 7th May 2025 after being closed for a long time. It has been updated with new owners and six of us went for a meal on Thursday 8th. The food was superb and the service was good, prices very reasonable and large helpings. We were all very pleased with the food and highly recommend it. We'll be going back again!

I won’t pass comment on the hotel - the pictures speak for themselves. The young man who ran the bar downstairs was pleasant and capable, as was the lady serving the breakfast.

Popped in after a 7 mile walk up river Ericht and was hungry! I had the venison stew and it was tremendous and a generous portion. Judith had roast beef and that was excellent too. We loved the ‘proper’ vegetables as well. Staff were friendly a service was good.

This is a hotel restaurant in a great spot with amazing potential. The food was in general well presented however the food was over cooked. My starter of pigeon was way over cooked. They offered to bring a fresh one but it was exactly the same. Likewise the lamb main course was also overcooked

Very good Chinese food Chicken and sweetcorn soup, pancake rolls and the house special curry with fried rice. Good staff.

Great lunch, friendly staff and warm welcome. We really enjoyed the New York Deli sandwich and messy fries with spicy chicken. It was our first visit but will definitely go back.

Great fish and chips you can taste how fresh and the quality. I would say good value and big portion. Happy traditional chippy with seating and looks so clean and the staff were full of banter and in good spirit.

Hunt the clean table on arrival, with at least half a dozen tables yet to be cleared of previous meals. Found half a table clean, ordered Pancakes with Maple cured Bacon and Maple syrup plus coffees. One girl doing everything, taking till orders and vainly clearing tables. Clearly Pancakes and bacon are given microwave blast, as they were just warm on arrival, plus the very small strips of bacon in between the pancakes were anything but crispy, just pale grey fatty. This place used to be decent value but has gone downhill, once it was good value but now even though cheap, it would be wiser to pay more in other Cafes nearby. The shabbiness included beer mats under wobbly tables and the drink/wine list on the table which badly need replaced as it almost stuck to your hand with sticky stains. A Breakfast experience not to be repeated.

Used this takeaway regularly when in Blair.Tonight the soft noodles were binned half cooked they were like eating elastic bands.Sweet and sour soggy all I could taste was heavy grease same with crispy rolls bag was saturated Brushed my mouth twice still taste and smell grease.Horrible totally unacceptable never again!

Called in on spec for alight lunch only to be told "it will be at least half an hour because we have a table of 10 and 4 . Really you can't cope with that? In any event all rather dingy and tired like too many of our Scottish Hotels.

On entering the restaurant I noticed that some of the tables had not been cleared. I moved some plates to sit in a booth. They stayed on the other table while 2 members of staff just walked by then a girl picked up the cups and left the plates which were eventually picked up. The food, fish was good and hot, cheese burger was just warm and no more, the chips on both plates were warm and had to eat quickly before they got cold. We have eaten here on 2 other occasions over the years and nothing has changed. The staff do not look happy and I can understand why. I also wonder about the management. The prices are very good except I felt for what we had it was definitely not worth it. It is such a shame as Wetherspoons in Oban is clean, friendly with a good atmosphere.
