The best restaurants in South Kintyre Argyll & Bute Central Scotland

Visited this wonderful tea room having visited the area and read the reviews. Had a lovely cup of tea with the most amazing home made chocolate orange cake. There was a huge choice of cake available, I’m not sure how the lady remembered them all. We never looked at the lunch menu, but will next time we visit. All of the staff were really friendly. The lady did tell us that they don’t take cards but could take a bank transfer or cash. If visiting the area, a stop off is definitely recommended.

Such a lovely couple who own it and they are so warm and welcoming to absolutely everyone. My husband and I went for tea and took our French Bulldog Winnie who was equally pampered as the tearoom is dog friendly. My husband had cake and I had a plain scone with jam and butter and it was he best scone I have ever eaten in my 58 years! So much so we ordered another one to share. This place comes highly recommended.

We popped in to get a quick family lunch and were really happy that we did. Pass the Thyme is a clean and tidy eaterie. Modern furniture and a nice bar at the end appeal to all. There was a steady stream of customers, mainly locals by the sound of it which is always a good sign. Some tables had also been reserved for lunch that Saturday afternoon. The lunch menu was modern, accessible and focused on some staples such as pizzas, burgers, fries and salads. Between us we had a chicken Caesar, loaded nachos and smashed burgers. My 10yo wolfed down his burger and declared it “the best burger ever”. All dishes arrived promptly, were tasty, really well prepared and generous in their portions. And well priced too, ideal for a quick family lunch. Service was in keeping being efficient, clear and friendly. Very happy to recommend Pass the Thyme for lunch if you are in Campbeltown.

Cosy wee place, right on the harbour wall. Super friendly staff, lovely food (especially cakes and coffee, but I'm biased towards cake). We loved the place 🎂☕☕🎂10/10

I’m a member of the golf club so I’m always having breakfast lunch brunch or coffee and cake The quality of the service and food is consistently top and the friendly atmosphere carries right into the kitchen I would give a higher rating than 5 *

Chef Steve likes to discuss the menu with guests in advance, which increases the expectation of imaginative and beautifully presented meals. Even he admits that his portions are on the generous size – as will their guests be after a few of his meals. And then there's the banter with partner and sommelier Maurice ... great fun!

What an amazing hotel, management and staff are very helpful and friendly. After recent power outage in the area the management team arranged with the power company to provide food for those affected. I personally can't thank the management and staff enough who have went above and beyond to help the local community in this uncertain time.

We called ahead & booked The Glen Seafood Platter for 2 Absolutely delicious, smoked mussels were a taste sensation. One of the best seafood platters we have had, great value & all superb Great service & atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping off here if you are in the area

American style diner which I guess is a homage to the US airbase that used to be here. Nice decor and really clean. Added ambiance from a real log burner in the restaurant but it was still a bit cold in the eating area (in fairness it was also freezing outside!) We shared the buffalo wings then each had an Irn Bru, loaded hot dog n fries, followed by tea, cake and coffee. Delicious! Seems to be a great place for kids and dog friendly too!

Amazing food and atmosphere. The manager, Edwin came to our table to check on everything. and was so nice and genuine. Brandon, our waiter was attentive and very personable. The food exceeded our expectations! We only had about a 15 minute wait and trust me ...it's worth any wait that you have!

Whilst working in the area I went here 2 nights in a row due to the quality of food and well priced winter warmer menu.

Absolutely lovely place with lots of seating. Excellent, well trained staff and super friendly. Home baking and meals, excellent coffee and tea too. Just live this cafe.
