A welcoming place to eat with lovely owners and an opportunity to enjoy gluten free and tasty meals. We looked forward over the past year to be able to make a return visit.

As we were staying in Grogport we visited the tearooms numerous times. We would have lorne sausage baps and Tommy, our little rescue dog, was also treated to one on his own plate. We would go for a walk and then return for scones which are out of this world. David and Siobhan were always friendly and informative. We will definitely return.

We stopped in for lunch today. David took our order for lunch. We are a family of four and 3 had toasties, I had the soup. The food was delicious. One of my main concerns about eating out is that I’m coeliac and I’m never sure if there will be gluten free options available or that the server/owner truly understands what coeliac means. Also, cross contamination is always a risk. David and Siobhan are very informed though, due to a family member being coeliac. The soup was gluten free and most other things on the menu could be made gluten free. There was also a gf Bakewell tart option but I was full after the soup and gf bread. The rest of the family had plain or fruit scones, which they said were really good. It was an absolute pleasure to have lunch here, we all loved the food and atmosphere and chatting to David and Siobhan too. Lovely people and a lovely couple. You could tell they love what they do and they have done a fantastic job creating this little oasis. Hopefully we’ll come back again one day.

Lovely wee coffee shop, with a nice selection of cakes. They had a few gluten free options, I had a bakewell tart which was delicious. Great wee spot to stop, and the heritage centre is right beside it & interesting for a wander around.

We popped in just in time to have a breakfast roll,Lorne sausage for me and bacon for my wife, both were superb and the service was excellent,we went for circular walk to beach and returned for scone and drinks The young couple who own the cafe are super friendly and provide excellent service, and the menu has a great choice at reasonable prices We were thinking of returning in 2025 and renting a cottage, the couple were great for information and we have subsequently booked, the Cafe was a significant factor in our decision

A day trip to the lovely Carradale and this very appealing-looking roadside cafe tempted us in. Delicious soup and toastie and takeaway scone (also delicious) served in gorgeous china tea cups. Service from the guy was great with an unforced pleasantness. The sun was shining and we ate outside on the plentiful tables. Absolute must if you're in the area. Check out opening times .....think Thursday to Monday. Also heritage centre and (old school) gallery worth a look while you're there.

A very welcome stop after a wet day walking the Kintyre Way. Delicious warm fruit scone, jam, cream and coffee. A warm raspberry and almond tart with delicious short pastry and great pot of tea. Friendly staff who helped with local information.

The Blackbird is a veritable oasis in Carradale. The young couple who run it are friendly, chatty and the home baking they offer is excellent 👌! Whether you go for the soup, the cakes or the scones you know it's home made and of great quality and taste. It's dog friendly too which is a BIG plus given the lack of dog friendly cafes on the Kintyre Peninsula. We noticed a lot of local clientele use the Blackbird, always a good sign. If you're in the area or passing through, definitely call in at the Blackbird!!

This cafe is more than worth the detour needed to get to it. The greeting we got made us feel like old friends! The food amazing & freshly prepared, the cakes definitely home made. It is also dog friendly & the owners really love their doggy visitors. Overall worth more than 5 stars.

We weren't expecting to find a coffee shop in Carradale on a Sunday in March but spotted the Blackbird tearoom on the way in. What a find. The place was full of (very friendly) locals having brunch/lunch and their food looked great. We just had coffee and a scone but this was the best scone we have been served in any tearoom. It was more than just the food, though. The couple running the tearoom were so friendly and helpful and contribued to a lovely atmosphere. If you are in the area, you must not miss the Blackbird Tearoom (or even if you have to go out of your way to get there - go!)

We were travelling around Kintyre with our in-laws and came upon the Blackbird Tearoom while visiting Carradale. We were very impressed with their warm welcome, good service, great music and delicious food. The red pepper and tomato soup was amazing, as was their coffee and cake. We didn’t have our dog with us but he would have loved feeling welcomed too. A must place for all who visit Carradale. Fantastic! 😍🐾

Great little find in Carradale on the Kintyre Penisula, where there are not too many opportunities to find places like this. Great cakes, coffee and scones. Limited menu as it is such a small place but what they do they do very well. Very attentive staff who do their utmost to make sure they get right (unfortunately not often the case these days). Well worth stopping by if you are in the area.

A great place for coffee and homemade cakes etc on Kintyre. The friendly owners are passionate about what they do. The place was very clean and tidy with a nice atmosphere. Caters for glutton free with homemade produce. Good disabled access and a well-maintained accessible toilet. Worth going out of your way for.

Good food and lovely staff. This tearoom is open limited hours so check beforehand. It is also dog friendly - the only eatery in Carradale which is.

Found this cafe by accident and so glad we did. Beautifully clean, smart and modern - you may eat inside or out. As well as light lunches, they do some serious food and there is a really good choice. I had a cumberland sausage and onion baguette; very generous with the filling and good quality sausage. With it came five different salads; the carrot and sunflower one had a particularly delicious dressing. My husband had a ham and cheese baguette and he was equally enthusiastic. Highly recommended.

This is the first place I head to every time I get to Rothesay. The best coffee on the island - no competition. Plus an incredible salted hot chocolate (I buy bags of the stuff to take back to London), plus amazing pastries and excellent soup for lunch. And Mhairi and her team are always good for a natter and to bring you up to speed on the island gossip and recent celebrity sightings. I also rarely leave without a new pair of earrings thanks to the Bonnie Bling range they stock.
