The best restaurants in Kirriemuir and Dean Angus Central Scotland

The steak pies are the best we have ever tasted they are AMAZING and all friends and family are now buying them too. Absolutely delicious. Mince pies, lasagne, sausage rolls and the cheesecake and strawberry tarts are just to die for. Honestly the best I have ever tasted and we won’t buy from Anywhere else again.

The food has never let me down but when I seen my other half just dig in the way she did I just knew it was love at first site the chops are amzing but the tawa for me is the one form the wings and there sauce to seekh kebabs where spot on but boy oh boy she was sure surprised when she had the fish on on tawa she had no idea but it sure juicy and nice and flaky and chicken tandoori was so nice to to nans and chapati and saloon which means curry was sure sexy sexy that kinda feeling iam loving it and to wash it all down we had a mango lassi which she loved and fell in love with that I guess this my go to and wins it lovely women who owns this this joint and hands down she wins it for it me what little hidden gem this place is she has me coming back again and again and again

As the season narrows, it’s appropriate to say thank you before they have their very well deserved break in January & February. I have been a regular in the restaurant all summer and can’t recommend higher than 5 stars, or I would. Margaret and her team offer the warmest of welcomes, the most special part of that is the authenticity behind it. She has picked the most customer centric team who greet you with a smile, serve fantastic food and represent the castle to the highest possible standard. Thank you and I look forward to next year. Best bar staff and friendliest pub in Kirrie...and very clean....I went in on my own, not something I'm comfortable doing, but the bar staff made me feel very welcome and included.

I visited today for Easter Sunday with my other half. We were absolutely Hank Marvin, so went for the peel farm breakfast, it was lovely. Although my partner asked for an extra item and it wasn’t delivered. It was quite cold, they had a massive log fire which wasn’t on, it would have been nice if it was. It seemed that the English lady was the only one really doing the work, she was very friendly and helpful. A charm in a small place! We had a wander around outside, met the friendly goat- I think he fancied my partner as he started screaming when we walked away - what a cutie! A lovely place and will be back soon, but it needs some heat as was quite chilly this morning!

Absolutely amazing, staff all welcoming and great atmosphere, food was a 10/10 and the best steak pie I have ever had the beef was falling apart and my family had the venison pie which they also said was the best, overall great experience and for the food I expected the price to be a lot more so very pleased with that too

Closed on Easter Sunday with no notification what a joke of a business after driving out of our way to visit kid’s very disappointed Needless to say will not bother to visit again

Extremely disappointed, ordered food at £37 worth, time was 17.15 and it arrived at 18.45, Stone cold !!! Driver had gotten lost (not his fault) We called up to complain and was was very rude on phone and never got offered any refund or apology. Won't be back.

We can always depend on Thrums for good food, but the app to order a delivery doesn't allow you to choose an approximate delivery time, so your delivery time is an unknown quantity. Could the app be updated to facilitate this?
