Had a 2 scoop tub of their homemade caramel and raspberry ripple ice cream. Nice but not as creamy and tasty as the ice cream served at Alonzi's Harbour Bar in Scarborough!

Great range of ice cream and it tasted delicious just felt it was a bit dear. I ordered the takeaway ice cream and strawberries it really was like hunt the strawberry there was one at the bottom chopped into 4 so felt a bit misled it really was just ice cream and whipped cream. Would go back ad ice cream was good would just get a tub of ice cream next time

Very disappointed when we visited this traditional Italian family run cafe. We discovered it’s changed hands. Very little selection - serving non Italian coffee! The waitress was serving ice cream with bare hands, ie, handling the cones! Well that just put us right off buying one! Surely in light of the recent pandemic more stringent hygiene standards should be in place.

I expected this cafe to be like the iconic Ice cream shop of the same name that I remembered from my youth, when I used to visit Broughty Ferry. Sadly, this was not the case. Yes there was ice cream but the weather was cold and there was only a selection of three flavours available. I longingly looked at the pink, Ice-cream sellers bicycle, which sat leaning against the counter, and wondered when it would be put into use once more. The cafe was quite large and lacked a bit of atmosphere. It was, however, very clean and bright. Some more private tables with partitions between them were being used to store advertising boards etc and although not seen from the main cafe area. They are on route to the toilets and made the cafe look a bit run down. Despite its faults, we liked this cafe. It was very clean. The service was very good, and so was the food. We would recommend a full breakfast or hot roll here. It was great value. Instead, I ordered an egg roll whilst my companions ordered full breakfasts or sausages. The arrived quickly and the cooked breakfast was very well presented. Everything was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed our breakfast. The hot chocolate was lovely too.

During our most recent visit to the town of Kirriemuir, after visiting the Tayside Police Museum and the Gateway to the Glens Museum in the morning, we decided to have lunch in Visocchi's, located in the town square, and fast becoming one of our favourite restaurants. Although well into May, it was a chilly day, and so both of us chose the Soup of the Day (Spicy Vegetable) and a toasted sandwich. The portions are generous, the quality excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. No visit to Kirriemuir would be complete without a Visocchi's Ice-cream, and then off to Loch of Kinnordy where our day out was suitably crowned with the sight of an Osprey catching a fish and devouring it atop a telegraph pole on the north side of the lake directly opposite our hide. The bird seemed to enjoy it's meal as much as we had enjoyed ours at this most recent visit to Visocchi's. We'll definitely be back again.

We arrived at 11.50 not realising that the lunch menu doesn't start til 12 and so were handed the breakfast menu. When I said I was looking for lunch (with my 2 yr old daughter) I was informed I couldn't order for another ten minutes, so I was given the breakfast menu and asked to take a seat. I decided to order from the breakfast menu but when the same waitress came to take my order she was actually bringing lunch menus over instead, this was at 11.56. So I thought I'd have the baked potato I came in for after all. She wouldn't take my order then, I still had to wait til 12 so in the meantime i ordered a sausage roll for my daughter from the breakfast menu so she wouldn't have to wait. I don't think the waitress was that pleased about my decision (boy, I wish I had simply ordered the breakfast muffin). Another waitress took my order for a baked potato at 12.01 but then came back to say that the baked potatoes wouldn't be ready till 12.30. I cancelled the order. The cup of tea was very nice.

Not here though, their coffee is perfect. The food is great and reasonably priced. Had a cheese burger and chips. The roll was nice and the burger was excellent and so were the chips, very tasty. My Husband had a baked potato and he said it was very good. There's quite a choice of places to have lunch in Kirriemuir but I'd say Visocchi's is the best out of them all and I'd definitely go back.

The drinks are overpriced for what they are and the food is fairly bland. I found the owner's attitude unprofessional and borderline rude. It is not a friendly atmosphere inside the cafe either. The customer is always right? It doesn't apply here!

Advertised as an ice cream parlour!Took kids for afternoon treat, guess what no ice cream. You couldn't make it up . Felt sorry for the waiting staff when we left without buying anything. Apparently they had run out in the morning. Place has been refurbed and looks quite nice now.

We are on holiday from Brighton and needed to catch up with are e mails but with poor 3G in the area we popped in here for coffee hoping they would have wifi access which they did, coffee was really good double espresso with a scope of homemade vanilla ice cream which was perfect a strange thing to ask for I no, a very reasonably priced as well.

My partner and I went to Visocchis having heard from friends that it was serving evening meals. We arrived and were promptly seated by the friendly staff. It is BYOB (bring your own booze) with no corkage, so we took our own wine and a couple of beers. We had the Italian bruscetta with pesto for starter to share followed by a pepperoni pizza and a pasta carbonara and a side salad. I must say the pizza tasted fresh and crispy with just the rift amount of cheese, just like a proper Italian pizza. So often small restaurants over prove the dough to the point that it has risen. This one was just right. Well done Visocchis. The fresh egg pasta was delicious too and went well with the crispy crunchy house salad. It was a reasonably priced dinner for two and we would definitely return. Beats the usual pub grub you would normally get in Kirriemuir hands down. Keep up the good work. Kirrie needs somewhere that's open late.

The food was top quality, yet very reasonable, with the staff providing excellent service, with a smile. I would advise people to try the homemade ice cream, out of this world

Food and drink is ok, I was disgusted however to hear the owner of Visocchi's swear and make derogatory political comments today relating to the referendum. Good to remember not everyone shares your views and wants to hear you swear in such a vitriolic manner, you do have a business to run. We won't be back.

I came expecting great things and left disappointed. The ice cream is fine, but not Italian in style. There isn't a particularly wide variety of flavours, either. Prices are reasonable at £1.50 for a one scoop cone.

Had read good reviews and went for coffee. Very disappointed. Feel decor would be better suited for evening, seemed bare and unwelcoming. Staff ignored us for quite a l;ong time berfore I requested a menu. Then after waiting again I approached tha counter to be told very abruptly to return to my seat as they would come when they were ready! At this point i would have left but was with my elderly parents. A young waitress came over but did not know what was available - another short wait. Perhaps this was her first day as she did seem very nervous and seemed to be abvoiding customers! The actual coffee was ok as was the muffin but nothing special. I will not be rushing back!

Italian - one of our families favourite meals - and Visocchi's delivered it excellently, the staff and service was brilliant and the food was excellent, great taste, great portion size and if you ask for any changes to the menu they will accommodate your request - you can't ask for me.Like the new look, love the new food.

Following several excellent reviews from friends, we decided it was time to discover if the new-look Visocchi's was as good as they all said - and it was! Simple menu featuring classic Italian pizza and pasta recipes and a couple of very tempting salads. Starters were good and the pasta - all three of us had penne carabonara - was excellent, with a lovely, creamy sauce. Two thirds of our party were too full for dessert but the rocky road cheesecake proved to be just as good as the neighbouring diners said. Well worth a visit.

My family and I ate at Visocchis after having been to nearby Glamis Castle. I remembered this place as an eccentric, Peter Pan-themed coffee and ice cream institution from my own childhood, but there is much change. It has been revamped and freshened-up with a quite attractive interior of exposed stone and brick. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being overbearing and the food was delicious. We ordered stone-baked pizzas, fresh egg pasta carbonara, and some crunchy salads, along with soft drinks all round. I must say, the pizzas were thin and crispy and the pasta was nicely al dente in a rich sauce. Very impressed. The kids and I were quite full but still managed some of Visocchis ice cream which took me back to when I was young. Still as good as ever. It was very reasonably priced and after chatting with the quite handsome but diminutive manager/owner he said that service had been busy since re opening. This place is somewhere that Kirrie has been calling out for and with food and service like this I'm sure people will travel from far and wide for their evening fare.

Saturday 28th June - popped in to the refurbished premises for a quick snack before heading towards the West Coast - I just couldn't face McDonald's at Forfar.Warm welcome on entering and no attempt made to up-sell, cross-sell or generally mess about with a customer's requirements - just first-class service and product at a very reasonable price.I had a simple pizza - it was produced with care and attention to detail - cooked beautifully and tasted superb. Definitely not a pre-packed, catering pack version from a factory in Droitwich.Note - the pizza bases are freshly made on the premises and so is the egg pasta. This may be 'fast food' but that doesn't mean the quality is poor in terms of ingredients or preparation. The coffee was excellent (flavour and temperature) and offered in a choice of mug or cup.Waiting staff were attentive, pleasant and astute - On the day they were offering a complimentary glass of wine - but seeing a crash helmet and leathers suggested that might not be required?Would I go back - most certainly and I wish the young management team well with their venture!Would I recommend any improvements? Only that they complete the ongoing refurbishment of the toilets - they were a bizarre mix of lovely modern oak doors and a rather tired 1950's style of public toilet.

My wife and I went to the recently revamped Visocchi's in Kirriemuir for dinner last night. The new decor was a welcome change and has transformed the place into Kirriemuir's must visit eatery. I had pasta and my wife had a burger and both were delicious and really good value. Of course, we opted for a couple of their famous ice creams for dessert and finished off with a coffee. I must say as somewhat of a coffee snob, this place satisfied me with the quality of its coffee. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing and we had a lovely night. We will definitely return on our next visit to Kirrie.

We really liked this wee cafe, it was full of locals, which is a good sign. Hubby had gluten free lentil soup, that he said was great. I had a very nice baked potato. The coffee was very good. Staff were really nice and welcoming. Loved the knitted cakes in the window.

Very nice food, staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough to help us. They even brought us a birthday cake out for us (one we had brought to the pub) then we went into another part of the building and played bingo for the rest of the evening. Brilliant

I hate the fact they maKe your sandwiches with gloves on and then take your money without taking off their gloves they then go on to the next customer. Bread sometimes doesn't taste fresh. Seems to me than the service and hygiene have gone downhill since the new owners/staff have taken over.

Gorgeous rolls as always! Cannot fault, I particularly recommend their crispy chilli chicken filling with coleslaw, and bacon and egg roll
