On a cold day and in need of something hot to eat we popped into the Coffee Pot while passing through Cumnock. More of a traditional cafe than coffee shop they have a decent menu of Scottish favourites such as macaroni cheese and chips, mince and chips, haggis, soups etc., and a selection of hot filled rolls (including a roll ‘n mince) as well as more exotic fare such as chicken tempura.
We chose a couple of ranch burgers that were perfectly cooked, nicely presented and very tasty. Service was warm and friendly and, all in all, this is a super cafe.
Awful service. Ordered a rare boxset they had in stock, only for them to wait 3 days before taking it off the shop floor, by which time it had already been sold. Incredibly poor service, definitely would not trust them to actually have in stock what their shop says, save yourself a headache, go elsewhere for everything.
We used to frequent this great wee pub and enjoyed the live music and lively atmosphere. It changed hands last year and it looks like the new owner has done away with the music. We visited on Saturday night and found an empty bar with boring sports screens. The bar person could not tell us if the music will return. Very disappointing. We cannot understand why anyone would take over such a lively venue and turn it into a boring empty ‘sports bar’?
We had one drink and left although we would return if the music and atmosphere was reinstated
Can’t find a more welcome place for a delicious coffee and a scone.
Plenty of vegetarian options available with amazingly tasty soup choice.
Bonus is that dogs are most welcome.
Set in amazing scenery - what more could you ask for

Stevie.
Honestly troops this place has the best rolls in the toon. Their signature rolls are brilliant, if you dont fancy the price for them just treat yourself to their normal breakfast rolls - far superiour to a buger van etc. and the homemade tattie scones are class. These guys are the kings of the roll game
First time I've been to the this place very clean and food very good. Marked this 3 out of 5 as found the staff eaten behind the counter a bit off putting. Surely you can eat out of the food preparation area. Wouldnt stop me trying it again though.
Best price in Aberdeen for lunch. Cheapest cup of coffee too and decent grub The owner is very sweet and gives you a sweetie and crisps with your coffee.

Wednesday Night Curry night!
Went in for the first curry night! And the Tikka Masala is out of this world!😍😍
Perfect sauce to chicken ratio and the half chips half rice was great!
Chicken pakora was so delicious and not greasy at all! Home made chilli sauce topped it off! 10/10.
Will defiantly be back :p
A hidden gem in a lovely setting near Edinburgh. Friendly service, the best bacon rolls ever, delicious scones, cakes and traybakes, along with excellent coffee or tea and a variety of soft drinks. A bonus is the craft work on sale made by local artisans. Can't recommend it enough!
