Went here with some friends after working up an appetite swimming. Food was absolutely stellar and all staff gave an excellent service with a smile. Great range of food and very accommodating to dietary needs, it can be a struggle to find somewhere with as many options for dairy/gluten free diets. 10/10 will definitely be back regularly.
We had a pleasant dinner in the Library at Dumfries House as part of a Christmas Festive Candlelit Tour of the house. With extravagant Christmas decorations the setting for a festive dinner was superb. Service by the young staff was very good and the dinner satisfactory though no choice. It was traditional Christmas fare but somewhat dry, overcooked turkey while the smoked salmon with salmon mousse was perfect. I would do it again!
La ville n offre rien de spécial mais les alentours proposent de belles balades. En particulier le tour du lac. Il faut cependant regretter un manque d information sur les parcours.
Food was really good, the chef was friendly and accommodating. The barman and his army wearing jacket friend across his bar were pretty rude, with really bad attitudes towards foreigners. I recommend the food, but don't expect much from the judgemental barman, he is, I suppose, to only serve drinks and not to actually have much conversation with the patrons in his bar. The place is definitely worthy of a visit for the food.
Called in at the 9 Shore St, Anstruther bakery shop of GH Barnett. Lots of calories to chose from. Having made my decision my wife noticed a slice of Tipsy cake. Childhood memories. Treat all those many years ago was Tipsy cake surrounded by marzipan. Never see it now. This Tipsy cake was made with icing but its the sponge you really want to taste. I have now decided Anstruther should be known for Tipsy cake rather than chips. I'll be back.
We visited on Saturday as a birthday treat as we had seen fantastic reviews online. We ordered waffle Sundays and milkshakes. It took nearly 15 minutes for member of staff to take our order, and mick walked away before I had finished. 2 of our 3 milkshakes arrived, and they were tasty but no where near as impressive as the pictures online - they had no cream or toppings. Waffles were made and brought over by Jordon, who is fantastic! Spoke with us and apologised for the missing drink which he then went to make. Mick brought this over, dumped it on the table and walked off to chat to a friend within seconds.
Jordon and your food are great - other members of staff not so much. I think it should be clearer that the fancily decorated milkshakes pictured online are not what come as standard.
Went in for a late afternoon coffee and snack. 3 staff behind the counter didn't even acknowledge our arrival, too busy chatting and giggling. The ordering screens were unintuitive and one not working properly. We were struggling for a while but no-one bothered to come to our aid. Coffee and cakes eventually arrived but weren't great. Has the atmosphere of a prison cell! Not quite sure why the ordering screens exist, since three staff should easily manage proper personal service if they actually served customers. Just awful. Starbucks is next door and would have been a better choice.
Ordered a huge family meal from Special Kitchen and couldn’t believe when they had the order ready, (including some very welcome freebies) in 15 minutes. The couple couldn’t have been nicer when we collected the food and there were thumbs up all round at home. I’ll definitely be back and recommend it to all!
A very scrumptious cream tea rounded off a very pleasant walk to the Abbey.
the COVID safe protocols were very well worked out / organised. Food & Drink ordered at the window and delivered to your well spaced table.
Well done all for making us feel safe & comfortable.
I don’t come from the area but popped in as I was early for an appointment nearby. Ordered bacon roll & coffee and then asked to use the toilet. When I came out the girl said to take a seat & she would bring it over. I offered to pay at this point using my phone then she said it was cash only.
Unfortunately I did not have any cash on me. I apologised and was about to leave then the girl smiled and said “wait, you can have the roll” and she made me a bacon roll in a bag to take away.
I’ve not been able to get this simple kind gesture out of my head for the last 24 hours and makes me smile just thinking about it.
I didn’t catch her name but I hope she reads this and knows that her kindness had a very positive impact.
Ohhhhh……& the bacon roll was delicious!
Another visit to Aviemore Inn for John's fabulous Steak Pie and a few drinks. Yet again it did not disappoint. This is a lovely friendly wee pub which John and Mary should be very proud of. If in Aviemore you should definitely pop in for food/drinks.
On visiting the restaurant recently I noted it has now closed. No point in visiting and looking for an Indian restaurant as a new one has taken its place
top gluten-free muffins, the butter icing is to die for, banoffi and also lavender were amazing, will definately be back. Sandwiches had fresh gf bread and were very tasty.[buffet-you did sat]
