Always a good night out here, great atmosphere and lovely cocktails, bar staff all really friendly and Dessie always ensures we are well looked after and catered to, he pours the best pints and makes the best cocktails.

The food was average, but the orange juice was overly watered down and lacked flavor. However, the server was very polite, and the restaurant's decor was beautiful.reasonable price.
We knew the restaurant was closed but when we arrived the bar was also closed We were going to meet family but nowhere to go. Very disappointing and we stay frequently in the hotel. Very disappointing and puts me off going again. Felt let down got an email saying restaurant was closed but no mention of the bar being closed.
Shocking Customer Service. I went here (Foyleside Derry ) on 29th August at around 11am for breakfast with family (4 people) . We ordered a Byrne Breakfast Soda, Waffles and Nutella, two teas a scone and a croissant. The ordering experience was good and we went to our table. Two of the party were just having tea and and scone and a croissant.. The other two the Byrne Breakfast Bap and the Waffles.. After 10 mins I began to wonder had they forgotten the Bap and Waffles. After 15 mins I decided to ask. At this point I was told abruptly by the female assistant (who took the order) that she was getting them ready (no apology for the delay).
5 minutes later (now twenty minutes after ordering) and everyone else finished and my Latte finished 10 mins previously a server appeared at the table. She announced..."Breakfast Bap" to which I replied "Yes here, but it's more like a Lunch Bap now" ....Her reply is actually why I am writing this review....She said to me...."Lovely Attitude"....Not, Sorry for the delay or can I get you another coffee......nothing but a snide reply. I was the customer and I was right in that a 20 minute wait was more than excessive for a Bap with two sausages and a poached egg. People like this don't deserve a job. There are so many people who could and would provide a better customer service. If you (Synge and Byrne) continue to employ people like this your business will not last long.
It's not my thing to take the time to leave reviews like this but her disrespect for your business and your customers compelled me to do this. I trust you understand.

A wonderful bar but poorly managed. Oliver and Patrick we're very unprofessional. Running a show here involves a rental price. This is extortionate but also very unfortunate as this prevents the arts scene from thriving in Derry. Many promoters struggle to make money as a result.

Rainbow Chinese has quickly become my new favorite sit-in Chinese restaurant in Derry. The food was packed with flavor—every dish was well-seasoned, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, and the menu had a great selection of classic favorites and house specialties.
The service was friendly and efficient, making our experience even better. Thanks Kaitlin. The only downside was that there was a noticeable draft in the restaurant, which made it a little less comfortable than it could have been. Hopefully, they can address this to make the atmosphere as enjoyable as the food.
Overall, highly recommended for a great Chinese meal in Derry!
Atrocious Service. We were brought out for Mother’s Day - 2 mothers, 1 mum to be , 1 child and 2 men. Had booked on website for 5.30.
Kept waiting, no order for about 30 mins- asked twice. Only option was Mother’s Day menu though website said either that or the normal menu. Waited for sooo long our soup was cold- left on the pass for ages. Then our dinner was only ok and they forgot chips . Wouldn’t serve us desserts as they said the ‘microwave’ was broken - they proceeded to clear up around us so they wanted us gone. They didn’t offer us the free Prosecco or free kids meal at end of. They took of the service charge but nothing will get us back. It was the worst experience EVER. I tried to ring the manager after but he wouldn’t return my call. AVOID here.
8 of us visited this weekend whilst on a mini break. We arrived at approx 3 pm and it was clear that the staff were more interested in clearing up / finishing for the day than they were in serving customers. The rear of the cafe was closed for cleaning however there were no other tables available that could accommodate us together. A member of staff ushered us to the front of the restaurant and told us there were enough seats there to sit on..(just not together) I would've left however didn't want to cause a scene especially since I had recommended it to the family who were with us. Eventually the staff conceded and allowed us to sit beyond the cleaning sign ! It was a very disappointing trip and the staff made it more than obvious that they were disgruntled with our being there taking up space. Very disappointed and are unlikely to return . I am writing this review in the hope that others are not treated the same way, a good business shouldn't be ruined by staff who don't encourage customers
