Nacional de Cuba in Derry

A wonderful bar but poorly managed. Running a show here involves a rental price. This is extortionate but also very unfortunate as this prevents the arts scene from thriving in Derry. Many promoters struggle to make money as a result.

Was in last night and a young bar man with black hair had 0 manners and 0 customer service skills not to mention the appalling bar skills. Paid for 2 cocktails and got 1 and a half. When I tried to chat to him about it he ignored me completely. All in all bar staff were very rude in my opinion but the bouncer was a great fella. Will not be back.

Really went downhill, underage drinking from what I can tell. Just really poor and rowdy atmosphere.

Would definitely recommend! Me and my friends done the cocktail class for my birthday and absolutely everyone loved it! Staff are lovely too and were very helpful

Great deal on cocktails before 9.00.

Really disappointed. The least busy bar in town on a Saturday evening, yet it was nearly impossible to get a drink. I stood at the bar for 10 minutes while the only bartender mixed cocktails for another customer. Eventually, a second bartender arrived and asked for the order of a fella who had just arrived at the bar. I told him that he should be serving me first, but was quickly informed that the other customer was the DJ. This was enough to clarify the situation. We left. Won't be returning.

Amazing venue just too crammed in for riot code which is why it's lost the star and also the bar had no organisation we waited 40 minutes to be served and not being allowed tap water with this length of wait was definitely annoying! However I understand there is teething problems with new venues and being sold out too. However, it is dfinitely a class spot, so will be back for another rave for sure

Great place to go and chat and have a great with friends

Slow staff that could do with putting a smile on their faces. The guy that looked like he was running the place was more enamored with the young women (I question if a lot of the young people could produce legit ID). Music was truly awful too. This place used to be called the diplomat. Back then it was awesome. Classy. That's gone. Do yourself a favour and head to The Blackbird instead.

I believe this place is now called Nacional de Cuba. Absolutely loved this bar. Very chilled, great selection of drink and very friendly helpful staff. Stopped off here for a drink before dinner, stayed for three. Came back after dinner as I loved the place.

A great place to go, if you don't really like Ireland. American beers and tourists from the US, Australia and India are all I found here, on the night I wanted to sing karaoke. The host for karaoke could not be bothered to attend, so the experience was a total bust. Fortunately, Paeder O'Donnell's had a cracking band, up the street, that saved the evening.

Lovely wee bar. Not too packed. Jazz music available upstairs. Did not fancy paying admission charge though.£4. Great wee singer on in downstairs bar.

Went on a school trip, absolutely whopper night. Bartender was sound as a ray of sunshine.

One of the worst experiences in town, the bar manager Gérard casey. Now me and friend of mines have called into this bar regularly with no alterations whatsoever, about how we where dressed in previous 7 times we've visited, to be turned away because my friend was wearing tracksuit buttoms, to then me being refused service over this , then to d make matters worse the manager himself made a very vagrant lie about my friend claiming he was an alcoholic and my friend was here last week and exclusively told him he was an alcoholic, now my friend is no way an alcoholic he barely drinks let alone goes out, avoid this place at all costs

Had a drink here tonight. Staff were very welcoming and friendly but the smell of sewage coming into the bar was very off putting

In my opinion, the best place in town for high quality, safe and socially distanced cocktails.

Called in last week during a visit to Derry. The pints were first class and the bar man was welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be back.

Awlful experience and ask bouncers for help got no were my partner ended up getting hit and she was not allowed to finish drink. Ask for plastic glasses and was told no boucher mickey needs to learn some customer service skills

There were only one group and one single person in the bar when I walked in and the bartender didn't even acknowledge my presence. I sat at the bar, waited for her to get off her phone, then sure poured me a beer. She spent the rest of my visit standing at the back door smoking. I did overhear her telling one if the women from the group she couldn't make a few different drinks. Just go somewhere else.

Nice spot, worth a visit nice selection of beers and wines, plenty of gins for the ladies. Great comfy seats if you can get one

Went here and the only beer they had on tap was Tennants as they had apparently missed a delivery. Aside from that they had no decent local beer either on tap or in bottles. Much better pubs nearby.

Great spot for a quiet drink during the day and lively at night with Live local musicians playing. Can be a bit pricey depending on what you order, but the craic you'll have here makes up for it!

Nice crowd! Small but quiet place

Welcoming bar, nice mix of folk. Large range of drinks and great music. Not suited to larger groups of people but 4-5 people shouldn't have a problem. Staff very friendly.
