Rainbow Chinese Restaurant and Takeaway in Derry

Food is not the best I have had, but staff were wonderful

I've been use this restaurant for up 7 yrs , spending up to over £40 for food , tonight the food was awful. So I phone up told them the food was as dry as cardboard! An i did order plenty of sauce which I didn't get only to be told that the chicken soaks up the sauce that why it is dry lol , staff was rude shouting down the phone at me ! Safe to say il will not be using this place again no loyalty for a costumer who has been using this business for years 🤔

We ordered roasted duck in Peking sauce and chicken strips. It tasted okay but the food is very very oily. The chef didn’t have to add that much oil. Took an hour or so before the food got delivered.

Great food, portions are quite big

Pure muck hands down worst chinese ever tried was inedible battered sausages completely frazzled like they were cooked 10 times over never seen a texture like it , and beef in beef curry was just rubber couldn't even chew it jesus am not one bit fussy at all or leave reviews but how anyone serving that up is madness

I came here upon a locals recommendation while I was on vacation and it is one of the few options that is available late at night. The 50/50 chicken curry special with half fried rice and half chips was delicious. The curry tasted like authentic Hong Kong fish ball curry in every aspect. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for something Asian and very well priced

Literally inedible and I'm gonna order food from somewhere else tonight instead of eating what I got. I previously ordered from rainbow Chinese and thought they were really good, this time however I was very disappointed. The food was unbelievably watery, lacked flavour and could hardly be called a sauce. Ordered wantons that were not at all wantons, there was no filling it was just fried wanton wrapper. I'm really sad because I thought this was going to be my regular Chinese takeaway but it is unlikely I would order from here again. Whoever was the chef this evening should learn to add flavour and how to thicken a sauce.

Just had a delivery and cannot fault the quickness of delivery and deliciousness of the food thank you very much. Came with a spot on recommendation!!

Rang and ordered collection, showed up and woman working claimed I didn’t . I did. Was talked to like an idiot in front of other customers . This woman is extremely rude and cheeky, terrible service will not be back.

Disgusted.!! This girl took my order and money from my bank and then closed up and didn't send my food after taking money and all!! Bad for business guys I want a refund ASAP!!

Ripped off by staff charged extra for rice bowls when told included in price . Please avoid at all costs and prevent ill health.

Frequently order from here, but after tonight that won't be happening . Placed an order of 5 things 2 of them was missing. Rang up got speaking to a caitlin with a big attitude. Cudnt deliver missing items as I lived too far away. Asked how this could have happened to an order of 5 things . That's where her disgusting attitude came out.If she was an employee of mine she wud be getting her p60. Needs to do a course on customer service.

Was in Derry for a night. Craving for Chinese food and found this neat the central station. Food taste ok and portion was really huge. Super value for money.

Great value for money and a huge selection of dishes. Very friendly staff too.

I've given 5stars to this lovely restaurant because it's an all rounder, the staff are really friendly and the service is fantastic ..as for the food, it is absolutely delicious .I will definitely be back ..

This has to be the worst Chinese I have ever had the displeasure off getting. How can things be cold and burnt at the same time.. please avoid at all costs

Called an hour after we had ordered and already received an on the way confirmation from a delivery driver, to force us to cancel our order because the restaurant had decided to cancel. The staff member couldn't decide if they were cancelling because it rained or that they were too busy. Incredibley rude.

Hate being negative but very unhappy with the food . Two greasy spring rolls for £3.50 and a mixed up meal of curry soaked chips , chicken and rice . Not a pleasant experience .

This is undoubtedly the nicest Chinese restaurant in Derry-Londonderry, both the sit-in food and takeaway are excellent. Everything is always fresh and cooked exactly as it should be.

It was tasty enough. The beef was a little mushy but the chicken was nice.

Nice food worth a visit when in Derry.

I have never had worse customer service in my life and from a manager too. The only reason the got a star was so I could leave this review. . Food was horrible. And the resolve was even worst.. I requested to be put on to the owner as the manager has no customer service skills. And they put me on to a delivery driver who had nothing to do with the order.. Aha where is that going to get me. . I don't even think they where listening to what I was saying and then they just started making things up between them. Shocking dtuff.. Needless to say I'll not be ordering out of here again.. . Just a wee heads up if your going to order off them DON'T because if there's anything wrong with your order which which there will be There is 'nothing they can do. Well they will offer you 10%.off your next order or better still if you pay the taxi to bring the stinking food back over to them they will replace it free of charge.. Sure your just out another 10.00 on the taxi fair even after paying delivery but its all good because your going to get another batch of ROTTEN food to cover the first one.. No joke i have never heard nothing ike it folks

Very bad service and food not good at all

Ordered delivery here last Saturday by mistake. Best mistake I ever made. Amazing Singapore noodles. Hot tasty spicy but not too spicy. Chicken curry no veg arrived as ordered and delicious. It was so good I phoned them after to tell them. Well done.

Large portions in restaurant, had to bring half of it home.

Party of 7. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was very good and plenty of it.

Didn’t go in. Was in a shop beside it. I usually order for their food online and their deliver is faster than the speed of light. Their food is awesome and they always add a little freebie for me. Top notch service with the customer care person and affordable too. I don’t eat bacon so it limits my kind of meals. Their king prawn fried rice is gospel.

The service was good, food was put on table quickly with no long wait..the food was very nice the only reason for the 4 star is I was disappointed at the salt and chilli chips.. they weren't nice at all and I chose to leave them .I'm not sure if it's the oil they are cooked in but on returning I wouldn't order them again...the rest I couldn't complain about tho

Was in the rainbow on the 31 October 2018 it was the best Chinese I have had in a long time the food was great and the portions were fantastic would highly recommend it definitely be back again

Cheap and cheerful food excellent

Got freezing cold spring rolls and a curry full with grease..will never order from here again...
