Brewer's Fayre in Derry

Went for dinner only. Nachos burnt, topped with what looked like dog diarrhoea and a few red chillies. Wife's steak request medium, served rare My fish burned on one side, chips cold, best thing on the plate was tatare sauce, no doubt out of a container. Bread n butter stale. Drink machine out of syrups so fizzy water. So disappointing will never return I've given a 1 star review as you can't do zero.

I have been a big Brewers Fayre goer and I feel I have witnessed their downfall. The prices were always good and there were good deals and the food was often nice but the last time I went we couldn't eat because there wasn't enough staff and it was only open to the people staying in the hotel. On previous visits there I had observed that the seemed to be a shortage of staff. Over a few visits earlier this year there seemed to be the same staff there very often. They seemed very fatigued and it looked like they worked too hard. I have a feeling this restaurant may close down which would be an awful pity.

Guinness is reasonably priced but do not eat here. Absolutely rank, you’ve been warned. Fish was dry as a bone mast probably lifted out of the freezer. Chicken burger was three goujons in a bap. Horror show

We were at the Premier Inn next door for three nights and had booked the meal deal. First night we were told the restaurant was full and we should have booked (nobody mentioned this at check in). Had to wait 45 mins as a result. Second night restaurant closed due to staff shortages. Apparently they are closing down soon and staff are leaving. Meals we did have there were standard brewers fayre menu, not bad but rather stodgy.

We were passing by and popped in for a quick bite to eat. Food and service was very efficient and staff were very polite. Food sizes were substantial. Would definitely recommend.

Called in for a family meal 2 adults and 2 kids very good value for £20. We ordered at the bar with Naomi she was very friendly and polite and when we received our food she did a check back back on us.

I don't really even know where to start with this review. Walked into the restaurant and it was practically empty... should have known. We were immediately told that the value offer wasn't on... yet there was a big sign outside promoting the offer?? Alas, as its a Bank Holiday, the value deal is ceased. We ordered 2 kids meals (part of which we didn't get) and 2 burgers for adults (again, part of which we didn't get). We ordered the most basic, plain, laugable nachos I have ever seen for a shared starter. The nachos were served with very under ripe tomatoes, melted cheese and sour cream. For over £6, it is RIDICULOUS they are charging this. The kids "starters" were the size. Plain nachos with a side of tomato!?!?! Our burgers were laughable. I ordered the smothered chicken burger at £13... it was 3 goujons in a bap!!!!! Served with chips.... and no coleslaw as said in the menu. Husband was the same, items missing from his plate. The kids meals had gravy missing from theirs as well. The place was very quiet and yet they still didn't manage to put the actual food on the menu, on the plate!!!! I should have known it was going to be a tight meal when I ordered mash potato only for the server to check if the kitchen "had mash on today" The carpet hadn't been hoovered, tables hadn't been cleared and staff who had as much life about them as a morgue. £55 down the drain and we will never ever be back. Absolute rip off.

We had a great deal at lunchtime 2 meals for £11.49!! I had the fish which was cooked to perfection, hot and crispy and the meal which was the cheese and onion pie with mash which was tasty and full of flavour. Shared a dessert between us caramel apple betty with custard which was delicious and finished lunch off perfectly. Staff were friendly and chatty. Would return.

Very pleasantly surprised! I was staying in the adjoining Premier Inn for 2 nights and booked the breakfast/dinner meal deal at this Brewer's Fayre - so, an all you can eat cooked breakfast and an evening meal with sides, drink (including beer or wine) and a starter or dessert for £25. Sounded like good value, so I wasn't expecting a high standard. The evening meals were great though - I tried the trio of pies one evening and the fish and chips the next night. Both were very enjoyable, with the fish being especially good (large, tasty, and not too thickly battered). Tartare sauce and mushy peas were excellent, and it was even served with lemon! Chicken wings for starter on the first evening and sticky toffee pudding for dessert on the second night, and both were good. The trio of pies was very enjoyable too. Good selection at breakfast time, with the food on each occasion served hot and in good time. Some of the staff were incredibly pleasant, with one particularly friendly waitress. Another one or two were a bit disinterested, but they didn't spoil my overall impression of the place.

We had a lovely evening. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated by a lovely lady called Sylvia who couldn’t have been more helpful. All of the staff were extremely friendly and inviting which made our visit enjoyable. Our food and drinks arrived quickly and were very tasty. Great spot

My daughter had recently had an accident and we were finding it very difficult to find somewhere that would accommodate to our needs and a friend recommended the Brewers Fayre restaurant. Upon arriving we explained our circumstances and they seated us in an area which was spacious and comfortable for my daughter. Ordered drinks and food at the bar. Food arrived piping hot and was great value for money. Great atmosphere and lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for us will be back.

The manager at the restaurant make us feel unwelcome we tried twice for dinner and she didn't have us options to resolve the problem, also she was really rude to my wife and at breakfast time she gave us the further table when the place was empty!!!

Staff were friendly and chatty. Service was quick and simple, order at the bar and the food is brought to your table.They have a great selection of meals, something for everyone. Definitely return.

Went for Sunday lunch, no Sunday lunch available, although advertising as available, food we ordered took hour an half and was just disgusting, staff not approachable, surprised at how expensive it was.

Awful chicken tikka,two for one deal cold watery sauce ,few small pieces of insipid bland chicken.cold clumpy rice and stale nan bread. First time hear in a couple of years and it has gone way downhill. Called just before 12 and was told it would 5/10 minutes to get seated (there was nobody there at all, literally nobody). Ordered two soft drinks and one glass had lipstick on it. I asked for a new glass and you would have thought I asked the girl to do 100 push ups. We got seated and orders at 12.30 then food came at 13.10 - chips were cold, meat was EXTREMELY fatty and chicken was stale and cold also. Went to use the restroom before leaving and there was literal human excrement on the floor...

4 of us came here for dinner during an overnight stay in Derry because it was too wet to walk round the city looking for a restaurant. My wife had the fish pie which was excellent and I had a great burger with chips and a portion of chili on the side. Both of these were excellent as were the meals enjoyed by the other 2 people. The drinks were priced very reasonably - £4.20 for a pint of Guinness, £5.20 for a decent gin and tonic!! We also came here for breakfast the following morning which had the usual range of continental breakfast items and freshly cooked hot items which were ordered separately. The poached eggs were especially good. At £9.99 for the full cooked breakfast, this offers excellent value for money. Highly recommended

This has become a reliable local venue for us to grab a quick and convenient meal. We always find the staff to be friendly and efficient + the food always good (especially the 2 for £10.99 deal..) until... The fish & chips is a favourite for us, so we both ordered this recently which was soon served - with the usual efficiency. However, I soon found mine not up to the usual standard!?.. the flesh was grey & rubbery + with very little flavour. When I brought this to the attention of the manageress, she was dismayed to learn of it and immediately offered to replace and upgrade to the haddock for no extra charge! So, a fresh plate soon arrived with a wonderful piece of fish and fresh chips which was much appreciated. I should add that my wife had no such issue and thoroughly enjoyed her meal. It is always reassuring and pleasing to experience good customer service and effective handling of such a situation. We will return!!...

We visited for a Sunday carvery as a large family with children. This was our first time being able to experience this as we live in belfast. When we arrived, we were greeted with pleasant staff members and seated to our table where we had plenty of room to move and were not stuck to each other. Once we were told were to go and what to do, I got up with my 5 daughters to the carvery and they were able to pick what they wanted as there was a wide selection of meats and vegetables that they could choose from. They loved the fact that they were able to put their own food on their plate. Me and my partner and my sisters and I then got our food, and it was exceptional, as was the deserts. We all really enjoyed it. Jordan and Nisha, the chefs, made sure that we all had what we wanted and we were made all very welcome. We had an amazing experience for our first time for su day carvery and will be back.

Upon arrival as a group of 6 adults and 5 children, we received a pleasant and warm welcome from the staff. Once seated, we all decided to have the Sunday Carvery for lunch. It was a good decision as everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and there was 11 empty plates when everyone was finished. The chef, Jordan I think his name was, extremely helpful and pleasant especially when the children were deciding on what they were having. We had an excellent experience here and will definitely return.

I was very hungry and needed a substantial meal at a reasonable price. This restaurant was perfect for me. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was good. Thank you for taking care of this American tourist!

Brewers Fayre at Crescent Link is a lovely friendly place with great staff, plenty of convenient parking, easily access from Crescent Link and good food. The menu has something for everyone at sensible prices.

On my I was welcomed at the door by Ali who taken us to our table nothing was to much trouble and was made to feel very welcome. Food order was fast and food arrived in a good time. Would definitely recommend.

Stopped here for a quick early dinner mid week . They had a deal of 2 meals for £8.99 we had fish and chips and scampi and chips both nice meals cooked freshly and served quickly .

Excelente relación calidad-precio, y el equipo siempre es muy servicial. El ambiente es acogedor y amigable. La comida es definitivamente buena relación calidad-precio y agradable también. Sus desayunos son geniales, especialmente cuando hacen el desayuno buffet, y los precios son excelentes, con niños menores de 3 años comiendo gratis. Gran valor para las familias!

Comimos aquí dos veces en enero, el menú de valor durante el día durante el día tiene un gran valor, 8. 99 y lo recomendaría encarecidamente. Tuvimos una cena que estaba bien y era más caro, pero no parecía ser tan bueno como la comida anterior y obviamente no tan buena relación calidad-precio. El personal de servicio fue amable y atento.

Had tea here with my grandchildren as a back to school treat for them and we weren’t disappointed. Kids menu had lots of choices for mains and desserts, kids loved making faces with the sweets on the sundae. It was reasonably priced with kids eating for a £1 after a certain time, which is brilliant, I didn’t know this until I went to the bar to order. Staff were friendly and helpful with dealing with my granddaughters allergy. They took the time to go through the menu to make sure the food was safe. All in all a wonderful day out with good food and service we will definitely be back soon.

Called in on the off chance and glad we did! We were sat at a table pretty quickly and the lady explained how it all worked. We ordered at the bar and they brought our drinks to our table for us, service was quick and friendly.Food arrived on hot plates and presented well. Having used these restaurants many times, when attached to a Premier Inn, I’m thoroughly appalled by the rude, bored and indifferent staff here, tonight: 28th August. I arrived at 9pm and waited for ten minutes to be sat down, in a virtually empty bar/restaurant.I now know why. The young lady working here was off-hand and thoroughly bored and un-welcoming. Had there been somewhere else to eat, I’d have left. When I went to order, at the bar, she was equally bored and I felt completely uncomfortable being here.I would certainly not recommend for anyone to come here if they want to have a pleasant experience. Will not be back.I’d have given my feedback, but no one was remotely interested. Such a shame when the Premier Inn team were so welcoming.

Having been here as a family on previous occasions decided on a night out with friends. Staff were very friendly and helpful food was piping hot and well presented like some restaurants we got time to enjoy our food and didn’t feel rushed at all. We were able to enjoy our surroundings and each other’s company as if we where at home.

My mates and I called in for breakfast and I couldnt fault it. Lots of choice of pastries, cereals and fruit, the fry up was great, “all you can eat”. They didn’t have the buffet that morning but the young girl made sure we all had enough and to let her or her manager know if we needed more, which I thought was a nice touch because you wouldn’t think to ask for extra if it wasn’t offered. The toaster is a bit temperamental but other than that we had a really good experience and will definitely be back, especially knowing now kids eat for free. The staff were helpful and pleasant, we sat for a while catching up and they didn’t try and rush us out, but they still cleared our plates so we could just enjoy our coffee. 5*

Visited this Brewer's Fayre after our 1st & 2nd choice restaurants were full on a busy Friday night, but this establishment wasn't very busy at all (that should have been a clue) but we were both really hungry so chose to eat here.

Wow, we just called here for an early lunch, we chose from the two meals for £8,99 menu, we were pleasantly surprised by the portion size and the quality, we both had fish and I went for the extra large one, the young staff were very friendly and polite, couldn't fault it at all.

We stopped for some food around 6pm, and the place is big enough to find a table for two. The service was friendly and efficient. The lasagne was very good, with a good side salad. However the chicken with spicy, tomato sauce was very dry and didn't have much cheese. The portion size was a bit big for us, so we didn't bother with a desert.

We went for a girlie night and felt really welcomed as soon as we entered the restaurant. The lady that sat us took our order at the table to make it so easier for us, so the food would all arrive together. Our food arrived on hot plates and the food was delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Food was good tho they had no mozzarella cheese so couldn't have my first preference Service terrible! first they came and took our plates away even tho my 84 yr old mum was still eating who was embarrassed then as she thought she was eating too slow! Then they ignored us and let our dessert dishes and drinks glasses pile up whilst 3 staff cleared empty tables and polished cutlery and set tables for next morning! We left then as there wasn't any room on the table if we'd wanted another drink anyway!

Was here today for lunch. As always good quality of food to chose from. The food is always tasty and delicious. Will definitely be bk again soon.

Anoche mis hijos y yo fuimos a comer. La comida estaba bien, tenía la parrillada mixta y mis hijos tenían hamburguesas definitivas. En primer lugar, la primera elección de mi hijo estaba agotada, luego se sacó el postre pero los platos no se levantaron de la comida. Fue el jefe quien sacó la comida a pesar de que el lugar estaba tranquilo con casi tantos empleados como clientes. El gerente, que era una dama con una camisa color burdeos, recorrió a todos, aparte de nuestro grupo para preguntar, estaba bien la comida. He estado usando este restaurante desde que abrió sus puertas y tengo que decir que el personal es terrible y tal vez se requiera un poco de reestructuración

Cenamos aquí recientemente y tengo que decir que fue una gran relación calidad-precio. Dos platos principales para 8. 99 que hay una gran selección para elegir. Tuve el sobresaliente con huevo y piña con una chaqueta de patata. La comida era sabrosa y rápida, el equipo atento y amable. Sin duda lo recomiendo y volveremos.

Have been here a few times and always return great atmosphere and good value for your money. Child friendly and staff tend to your every need always a pleasure to go back.

Not enough snack choice if you do not want a full meal. Could have done with maybe sandwich or wrap with either soup or chips so we went elsewhere to eat. Full meals are average. Service was ok.

Welcome as attached to the hotel and serves food to 10.00. Very useful for a late arrival. However the food is bland and I was not tempted to eat there for a second night.

Got a phone call to join the girls for lunch and we decided to eat here. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and friendly staff. The food was lovely and piping hot as always won’t be leaving it so long the next time.

I have dined here on many occasions and each time We have arrived we are always welcome with a warm friendly service from the team. Me and my friends decided on a casual girly night and as we have dined here previously we decided to come again. Our food was lovely, it went down a treat. Staff was more than helpful and anything we needed they got it for us. I enjoy coming here as they make us feel so comfortable and inviting.

2 kids eat free with every 1 paying adult so we brought my nieces and nephews up on Christmas Eve. Bargain! Breakfast was great and the staff were friendly and accommodating.

Staying at premier inn next door & to be fair , i have eaten here lots of times. I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. The food is well cooked and always tasty. I had the mixed grill - the steak was cooked to my liking & was very tasty. Chicken lovely, gammon lovely, sausages lovely, eggs nice , chips ( hmmmm ) onion rings ( nice ) and a grilled half of tomato.. ( yep also nice ) oh & don’t forget the much underrated garden peas. Great value for money, staff lovely.. my work colleague had a rump steak which was also superb.. his words not mine..

In all the years we have been coming here we have never felt the need to complain about anything, food always top class and friendly staff.

Had a evening dinner and breakfast here on a premier inn meal deal we both shared a platter for starters which was so big we struggled to finish it for main course we had steaks cooked just the way you like again went down a treat food was 10 out of 10 drinks were cheap enough only thing was they had a drink menu but proces didnt tally up at the till when we inquired we were told that was england prices not here so why have drink menu out next morning we had breakfast all you can eat by the way eggs cooked as you like so all in all a great value place to eat service was friendly and welcoming reasturant was spotless would eat here again but please sort the drinks menu out.

We used a buy one get one free offer and all went for steaks. Our food was lovely, it went down a treat. Staff was more than helpful and anything we needed they got it for us. I enjoy coming here as they make us feel so comfortable

We went recently for christening party and thoroughly enjoyed it. As there was 30 of us and we didn’t pre-order, we were prepared to wait but our food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Service and food was excellent! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

I wish I could comment on the food but unfortunately after waiting for 20 mins for a table, then ordering 2 bottles of wine for the table and settling down, we were told by the girl serving that there "was no carvery left". Would have been nice to have been told this upon entering. After complaining to the manager he offered to refund our wine as we then had to book somewhere else to eat. But only if we had the receipts for the wine, which we were never even given to begin with. He then avoided us until we left. One child was so hungry we got him chicken nuggets as we waited on our taxi to the next restaurant. Terrible service.

Here for lunch. Great selection of food, prices are really good, food was delicious, service was fast. Dessert was heaven. Had the chocolate cherry lava cake. Amazing! So good.

Menu is varied which is good because each time we go back I usually try something new. Food tastes good and kids love to go here too. Pleasant atmosphere and staff are friendly.

Great selection on new menu. Something for everyone. Cottage pie was delicious and tasty. My sister really enjoyed the nacho and chicken starter. We have a new favourite dessert, the Aero Sundae! Staff were very good and helpful as always. Will be back.

Dined in here twice whilst in the adjacent Premier Inn. Wasn't impressed with either meal but it was convenient. You get what you pay for.
