This is a go to for me ALL the time. From the lovely staff to the incredible food. With so many options (tried them all) in Hillsborough I always come back here. My all time recommendations - Portuguese Tarts, Sausage Rolls, Turkey BLT, Breakfast Ciabatta, Chicken pesto pasta, Ham & Camembert Sandwich and the salads!! I think I'm a Keane's groupie!!

The menu is vague to say the least! No description of what was included in any of the breakfast options. Avocado on toast came out without avocado which was sent back and came back out drowning in siracha sauce which when I asked what came with that breakfast was not mentioned. It was sent back again and came back with eggs which were practically raw! The waitress was very rude and made me feel like I was being awkward.

Update (21-10-2024): smashing restaurant. I've come to really love this restaurant. As far as prices go it's very fair given how expensive things are everywhere these days. Tried the fish for a change and it was absolutely excellent, really lovely! Staff are attentive enough but not overly so, which is great. I booked as I always prefer doing so but on a night like a Monday it's probably not necessary. It's becoming a regular for me as Lisburn hasn't got much else for dinner options. Highly recommended! Great food (pizza in particular) and great staff. Service can be a bit slow when busy and it is on the expensive side, however I still really enjoyed it. Highly recommended!

Ordered small fry which was mediocre and semi warm. Service without a smile. From experience until recently free tea with breakfast food as described but not any longer now. Paid £15.65 sharing a pot of not hot tea which was supposed to be separate. Consider this to be beyond the pale. Can't understand why Management doesn't take action based on Trip Advisor review summary for this restaurant. Return visit - no, elsewhere.

A little lacking in Christmas Cheer? No advanced booking required for Christmas lunch, so 3 of us rocked up to the restaurant at around 1300hours in eager anticipation. Surprised to find only a few cars in the parking area, we wondered if something was wrong - we had expected a queue out through the door - but upon entry we found only 2 tables occupied. There was a cute Christmas Scene on display in the entrance porch which had dolls house - it’s front a-jar so the inside rooms and the contents could be seen. A work of art which must have taken many hours … there were various rooms and each was filled with items of furniture, soft furnishings and figures. I’m sure that many children would be delighted if Santa were to deliver such a present 💕 Christmas music was sorftly playing and we were offered our choice of table along with the Christmas lunch menu. Our order was easy - 3 of the same - Christmas loaded chip, and our meals arrived around 5 minutes later (piping hot). One of our party went to the water service area and carried beverages to us (with lemon or without - both available). I must admit, I felt it rather a strange mix of service … with orders taken at the table by a pleasant waitress, (who also served our food served to the table) - why would it be that customers are then expected to collect and serve (and especially when there were so few people dining) - just an observation on my part 🤔?? The 3 very pale chipolata sausages, the turkey, ham, stuffing, cranberry and gravy all came - served together in a bowl (just the way you expect loaded chips to be) and looked somewhat appealing. In hindsight I wish I had asked for my gravy to be served separately as it was a tad ‘go-wee’ for me by the time I munched my way through half of the portion. Fair to say (I believe), the charge of £13.50 for a single bowl of food (with not a seasonal vegetable in sight) seems a little expensive - although granted, some may not agree. And so, we decided to head home for dessert and coffee ….. I for one was exceedingly disappointed. I expected more from a ‘ Mill Farm Deli and I would have said so had I been asked (honestly)! The entire dish was extremely salty - was it the ham? The gravy? Thankfully my friends agreed - indeed one mentioned ‘sickly sweet’ … and as the chef had already left there was no point in asking him. Perhaps it was quiet for a reason - I’ll let you decide for yourself, but do yourself a favour avoid the Christmas loaded chips to AND asleep for the gravy to be served separately- just incase.

We went in for a Sunday breakfast, no reservation but was seated with no issue . The hostess was on the sour side and it took an age to take our order. I can only eat small amounts so I asked for a half portion or a child portion of porridge which she initially refused as I was an adult ! I should not have to give my medical history to get some simpatetic hosting from a waitress ! Either way food was delish - a bit pricey for a breakfast . Beautiful decor and beautiful surroundings, that is what the height score is for The one star loss is due to hostess skills :(
