Heard about the Festive Foods that are available in this chippy so thought i would try them out. The festive feast that they have, oh my word it is AMAZING. It comes with battered chicken, ham, stuffing, chips, cocktail sausages and gravy. You can have cranberry sauce and veg if you like. The portion size is fantastic for the price, you will definitely not be hungry after eating this. My husband got a fish supper, again the fish was cooked to perfection, lovely light crispy batter teamed with really tasty chips. The shop has a lovely feel about it with a lovely Christmas display. The staff are polite and courteous and very well organised. Very busy place but with the food we received I can 100% understand why. We will definitely be back again, it is worth the drive from Moira

Had heard from others that this chippy had been recently taken over by new owners and the food was top notch. Called in on Saturday evening to try. Can honestly say the food was amazing and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I ordered the new Hawker Steak Stack along with kids meals for my 2 young sons. Holy Moly the steak was cooked to perfection and the peppered sauce was delicious all served with chips and veg, it definitely hit the spot. The kids meals are alot bigger than expected with plenty of chips,( not the usual 10 chips in the bottom of a box that you get in other places). The young girl behind the counter, not sure if she is the owner, manager but she runs a tight ship, small but mighty comes to mind, orders are taken, everyone knows what is required, she communicates with all the staff and the food is produced in a timely manner and is top quality. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Got from here multiple times now, absolutely great service from staff very time efficient, food is always great my we boy loves eating here even if it is just a plain burger lol and my new favourite is the steak stack 10/10

Hosted a birthday party for 22 kids at the village centre & arranged the food via the new owner at Chip hawker who went out of her way to make the process really simple, the food was ready at the time requested & labelled to help handing out at the party, kids really enjoyed their food! We also enjoyed 2 adult meals later that evening which was delicious & generous portions! Great service & nice to be able to support a local business & the new owner Abby who could not have been anymore helpful. Highly recommend & we look forward to being back soon. Thanks!

Had the BBQ stack burger & chips 👌🏻… Amazing! The burgers are out of this world amazing flavour. Chips are beautiful too.. We ended up having chippy picnic up at the forest park as it was, So handy with picnic benches and only short walk away. Staff really friendly. I feel the prices are competitive. Happy customer all round Thank you we will be back

Went tonight for a large chip was served right away when I got home just a few minutes walk from where I live the chips were very cold and hard went straight into the bin

Unfortunately didn't look at the reviews before I tried spent over £30 for my partner child and I which now a days is the normal I know but so over priced for the portion sizes! Chicken burgers where so small and the chilli cheese taco chip had a fishy taste. The kids meal was also extremely small no more than a handful of chips. Never have I had a takeaway and felt more hungry after than what I did before it! So disappointed and a waste of money. Definitely won't be back im afraid

Place has changed hands a few times but I spoke with youngish owner tonight and I wish her well. Tonight I had a pair of sausages and a pastie. Took ten minutes, which was good as they were busy. Sausages were really succulent with free chips Pastie again was fine with free chips. Last time I had salt and chilli fish goujons which were also nice. In the past prices went up and not a free chip in sight. JP, s was original owner I remember and was fine but the Chip Hawker owner was a miserable git. Anyway give it your support. It was lovely for me tonight.

Called into get some lunch for the family. Food is absolutely delicious 🤤 burgers are so tasty. Honey chilli chicken and chips are to die for! Fantastic and friendly service. Definitely give it a go if your in or around the area gautantee you will be glad you did! We will definitely be back!

I heard about the new royal wagyu burger from a friend and he really enjoyed it so I had to try it for myself, it was the best burger I have ever tried!! The staff were super friendly and welcoming which made the whole experience amazing. I will definitely be back :)

Was there before and the food was amazing, not so much this time. I was definitely disappointed this time.

Last time I was here it was such a stingy place. But I was hungry tonight and this was all was open. So I went in and had a look at menu I fancied salted chilli fish bites and was told they come with some chips and as we talked I found the place had a new manageress and now some chips come with everything. Compared to the last stingy manager. The meal was actually very nice and had some chips with about seven fish goujons and some onion and peppers. Just right for a good snack and so tasty. The staff were uber friendly if a little loud. For around six pounds it was good and I will be back.

Just ordered a plain burger for my partner, unfortunately it was covered with cheese and a ridiculous quantity of burger sauce. Couldn’t be arsed to complain but suffice to say it went in the bin.

Got together with friends at weekend. Chips were rotten and the fish was swimming in fat. Horrendous will not be back. Would drive to Moira quicker for a better chippy.

Came in at the weekend, staff are all friendly and service is great didn’t have to wait long for my food. Overall was an amazing experience.

Visited Chiphawker whilst on a family day out in Hillsborough. The staff were so friendly! I didn’t have to wait long for the food and it tasted amazing!!! Reasonably priced too! Highly recommended!

I was passing through hillsborough at lunchtime and decided to call in to get a quick lunch. Great menu with different options , range of prices and helpful friendly staff. Good portion sizes I will definitely be back.

Called in this evening to get dinner for myself and my family, friendly happy staff as I entered the shop. I ordered 2 fish suppers , kids burger meal and a portion of onion rings. Fish suppers were a brilliant portion for one individual with light crispy batter, as were the onion rings - grease free! Kids burger was gone within seconds it was that ‘yummy’ . Looking forward to ordering again next weekend!

The portions are poor, very poor, in relation to the price. £3.80 for a chip that is a third of the size it used to be. The suppers are very small. Tastes OK, but we were left with the bitter aftertaste of disappointment. Graham's Chippy in Moira is a much better option.

Waited 1hr 10 minutes for two portions of chips and two burgers, one of which looked like it was still alive when I got it home. They tell you a 20 minute wait when you get there but there’s no chance. I’ll stick to the chip van in future.

Quite a few negative reviews here and to be honest I would have agreed with them as I had the same poor experience when I was here last October. Decided to try them again last week just because they are handy. Placed an order online and when I went to pick it up was really surprised to see so many people behind the counter, all busy and no queue. There seems to be a new manager here and he goes out of his way to make sure you are welcome and that your business is appreciated. I think that's really important and this alone would encourage me to go back as it sets them apart from a lot of other places... My order was ready for collection at the time I requested too and this had never happened before. The girl who served me was friendly and seemed to want to be there! Completely different customer experience from before. Oh and the food was good too! We had two large chips, 'smashburger' with bacon and cheese a 'healthy' option grilled chicken burger which was grease free and very tasty. Yes they were pretty expensive but isn't everywhere else? I would go back and would encourage anyone who has had a poor experience previously to give them another go.

Quite a quirky chip shop with a varied and different menu along with traditional chip shop fair. All very good and tasty

Overpriced , smaller portions, chips undercooked and greasy, chickens goujons were so greasy and four meals just warm, not hot. Barely edible. Definitely won’t be back

Great food, but unfortunately problem placing orders some times. Their app has stopped accepting payment, and quite a few times when I have tried to call they don’t pick up.

Very busy yet poor quality Chips hard and chewy. Most of our meals were luke warm . Couldn’t ring through order . 50 minute wait , told it would be 25 mins. Very disappointed the last few times we have used it. Burger missing basic ingredients as ordered.

Been here before and the food is great but don't try calling them to place an order. Spent half an hour trying to get through using the number on their menu, website and here on maps. It would immediately put me onto a machine saying 'sorry this mailbox is full' and then hang up on me. Won't be back for some time if I can't place an order, disappointed and left having to travel farther out to get our dinner.

It was my first visit at the Chip Hawker, ordered over the phone, everything was ready when we arrived. Their fish and chips were really nice. Will definitely use again.

Order made via Facebook page. Time given was accurate and quick. Fish was fab and crispy batter. Plenty of chips, burger was tasty. Staff were very pleasant and polite on collection. Cost just over £20 which included the service charge. Worth it. Highly recommend a visit to Chip Hawker!

Went to Hillsborough Castle to pay our respects to HRH queen Elizabeth on Saturday 17th September. On our way home we decided to call and get some food from this chippy. First impressions were poor when greeted by a young lady who couldn't be bothered to interact with us and looked totally not bothered about being there. Prices were ridiculous, about twice what we would pay where we live, but I thought it doesn't matter if the foods really nice. Unfortunately it wasn't, the chicken goujons were small and slimey with grease - to the point where the batter was sliding off them. The chips were OK but really nothing to write home about, however the curry and gravy sauce was sufficient to make them enjoyable. The prices of the soft drinks is ridiculous too, I often hear its because of the sugar tax but sugar free alternatives were also expensive. Finally, when we were collecting out food we were handed the bag by an attitudey young girl who grunted and rolled here eyes when confirming the order - something I notice all the time now in fairness so perhaps not unique to this establishment. Overall, poor experience, I'd encourage you to go to the pub round the corner to be honest instead .

Highly recommended. I've been in many places in northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland and I can say,it is one of best places to have your favourite meal in northern Ireland. Definitely I will come back to have dinner. Many Thanks

Ignorant staff tryed ringing multiple times to order in on a sunday for my daughter no answer so went to shop there were 3 people there waiting and all they said is to busy cant answer looked like they didnt want to be there and rip off prices for average food also

Why bother open a business for 4 hours per day?? Do yous not need the money up there? I'm baffled honestly 48 hours per week you open yet when you ring to order food and arrive 20 minutes later your left standing another 20 food. I don't get your business module at all no even deliveries open at 5pm 3 days a week and shut at 9 then on the weekends you open at 12pm and shut at 9pm. Do you realise the revenue your missing out on due to being a lazy business?? You close at 9pm when the pubs dont shut till 11 weekday and 12.30 weekends that alone would double your revenue never mind the deliveries. Honestly yous should pack it in up there nobody wants a part time chipper.

This is my second time visiting, the first time i just shrugged it off as i could tell they had new staff on. But the same experience again...now i dont write reviews very offen but this place i feel needs to up their game!! £3 for either a single pastie or portion of sausages and yous give litterly one, yes one single chip with each... like why even bother at all.... the pastie was small thin and soggy, not even the dogs wanted it. The portion of chips I ordered wouldn't fill a child! I would advise anyone If you want a decent price and quality food travel a extra few mins into lisburn and avoid this place, it's overpriced with childlike portion sizes! Never mind soggy or burnt! No thanks!

I called in here with my daughter to have dinner. As we live a good distance away, we were eating our food in car and this place seemed OK. I ordered my food and drinks. Paid for it and sat down happily to wait. When order was ready, it was presented to me by a rather unpleasant member of staff. Her attitude was not what I expected at all It wasn't overly busy when I ordered and paid for food Some training in customer service needed I must say I was greeted by a lovely member of staff when I first entered chip shop Not sure what his name was

Got the smash burger and battered sausage supper tonight chips were cooked to perfection, burger meat was fantastic quality and batter was lovely and light Will definitely be back

Nice food reasonable prices but a bit disappointed tonight as the chicken Goujons were more like large chicken nuggets and the fish bites were smaller than usual

A superb chippy, all food made to order, friendly staff, and not always obvious these days, fantastic chips! The chicken burgers are lovely, nice crispy batter on perfectly cooked fish, and the smash burgers look the part. Difficult to walk past it with the smell so tempting!

we returned as last time we called in for cod fish it was fantastic ,unfortunately today lunch time the cod we got was very disappointing sorry I didn't take a picture,it was a very thin fish with thin batter won't be back 😠

My first visit since they changed hands from PG Chips. The food is equally as good, but the service has been improved greatly, no doubt helped by a smaller menu and well organsised staff.

Very good fish and chips! I had my Scottish relatives to visit who have their own ideas about the best fish and chips and they approved of the meal. I will certainly be going back to Chiphawker.

So PGs rebrands because it’s not posh enough for pretentious hillsborough I normally get a 1/4lb with cheese & chips at the Cohannon branch lovely tasty Tonight pre ordered from Hillsborough with out a doubt the worst fresh 1/4lb I’ve ever tasted & the chips clearly wrapped up 10 mins before collection time soggy as hell plus almost £2 more than the much better tasting Cohannon site Only saving Grace were the friendly staff now they just need the know how to cook basic foods Next time I’ll try the chip van at the bottom of the town as I suspect it will be better priced & tastier

Formerly P.G Chips the new owners are very busy. First time I ordered a cod and also a battered sausage. I pre-ordered and was told 20 minutes but when I arrived I waited another 15 minutes and I was charged for 2 sausages,but It was rectified when I told them. When I got my meal it was very nice and had quite a few free chips. The batter on the cud was light and bubbly and very good fish. A couple of days later I pre-ordered a fish again and told 15 minutes. When I arrived a wee bit late I still waited 10 minutes. The fish this time was even better but guess how many chips they threw in. ONE free chip. How stingy. The cod was nice and white and fresh. The place is very busy and food being prepared looks very appetising. It is clean and friendly and to be recommended. But I do fear them loosing business because of long wait.

The fish was 1st class better well done and really fresh flaky fish, chip was huge we were only able to eat about a dozen chips, fish was so generous and excellent. We ordered 2 well done fish and 1 chip.

EDIT AGAIN: Dropping to 1 star. Why on earth did I go back? Got home to find that I got just a chip rather than the kebab on chip that I ordered. This was after a 45 minute wait in the place after having called ahead. That's about 60 minutes to get a chip with nothing on it... Another chippy opens in hillsborough and I would say this place would be gone in 6 months EDIT: dropping two stars. Didn't get what I ordered. Fish was dripping in grease. Doubt I'll be back for a long time

Pleasant staff and the fish was lovely, point only is that no Tartare Sauce but that is down to my taste.
