Often meant to call here. But it only opens 5pm to 8pm Thurs, Fri, and Saturday. Been twice now and found food good and reasonable for a chip van. I am told this family business has been ln Hillsborough a long time. I first tried a pastie and pair of sausages. About £5.50 was reasonable price and very filling. Next meal was a fish, and a battered sausage. I think the fish was a fiver. It was fairly good and a big portion. Very satisfying. I recommend the place and a steady stream of locals verify that. On the way out of Royal Hillsborough parked on road heading to A1 to Sprucefield. Easy to detour off to visit.

Overall a pleasant evening. Nice atmosphere, careful menu and good wine selection. One issue was with the lamb main course; 3 of the 6 in our group ordered it and 2 of us were unable to eat most of it due to it simply being too tough to cut through. The maitre d commented on the fact that we’d left it, asking if it had been too rare for us… when I explained it had been too tough she made no further comment; a little disappointing!
