Tried to visit this morning, was advised dog was not welcome in the grounds, will not be back To explain further, if you search Hilden Brewery you will come across the Google listing, showing in the top left hand corner opening times of 9am. We arrived at 9.20 to find we couldn't find the access open to the coffee shop. I walked around the back as it was our first time visiting and was unsure of the layout. A few minutes later an elderly gentleman approached me and said that he had been sent out to tell the lady with the dog that we were not allowed there. For clarity we were in the garden area where a bandstand was in place for the weekend. I then walk around the front again and we asked a lady then what time the coffee shop opened, she advised 10am and again that the dog could not walk around the back. A few points, Google listing is not accurate and if dog friendly, why.not the garden, plus there was no signage to indicate either way. Extremely disappointing experience

Purchased tour for my husband's birthday as gift. Excellent experience. Beautiful area. Stunning outbuildings, dripping in period features. Very welcoming atmosphere in The Stables. Even if you arrive early, there is a variety of fresh traybakes or avail of the breakfast menu. Their resident golden retriever 'Hollie' will give you a warm welcome and flow from table to table for scraps and cuddles. We were then introduced to BrewMaster who gave us a brief history of Hilden Brewery before showing is round the Brewery from how they choose and prep the Barely to how they ferment and flavour the ale. Even had the bottling plant on site. Back to The Stables for a hot bowl with stout wheaten and a variety of Hilden ale and stout. Absloutlolutely worth every penny. Really affordable few hours out. We spent 3hrs as arrived early and relaxed after. Beautiful for Spring/ Summer as plants in bloom. Hilden in a hidden jem in Lisburn/Lambeg. My parents are retired and from Derry, they will be visiting via train and can walk shortly distance from Lambeg train stop. Easily accessabile for all ability's. Would definitely visit again for lunch and purchase the Brewery Tour for a gift. Claire& Gareth

We attended the Halloween event at Hilden and were left coming away very disappointed. £15 per a child & £5 per an adult and all that was included was a pumpkin which you had to carve yourself, and could have bought for £1. The woodland walk / scavenger hunt looked like it had been thrown together in 5 mins, and there was litter strewn throughout the walk and a set of step ladders dumped at the side of the path. The whole experience may have been made worthwhile by receiving smores, hot choc or mulled cider at the end but these incurred an extra cost! So an added £2.50 for a bag of smores per child which consisted of stale choc digestives and couple of marshmallows. Mulled cider was £3 and not enjoyable with the amount of things floating in it. Overall a disappointing experience, with zero fun factor or atmosphere and which will not be repeated, especially when you can pay a couple of £ extra and have an amazing family experience elsewhere at Hydro or Streamvale etc. and which includes hot drinks for the adults! Not worth the money!

We went to Hilden Brewery Family Halloween Weekend. As a family we paid £57 to enter. When we arrived there was nobody to meet us as stated on the ticket. We managed to find the spooky walk, a trail with a few spooky toys lying about, it took about 5 minutes to walk through. When we got to the pumpkin patch we were told to walk back and get tokens for the pumpkins despite nobody showing us where to get these on the way in. Our children were then given stencils to draw on the pumpkins - the pens were not permanent so the design came off before they were even finished. The staff did not have the skills to carve the pumpkins, so we said we would just do it at home. No games were offered as stated on the advert. We were told the children should have received a game to play on the spooky walk, but we never received any. When we got to the fire tent, we were asked if our children had received candy bars - the staff member said that the children should have received these but obviously staff weren't giving them out, so went to get some. We were then told we had to pay a further cost to put our smores on the fire, so we paid £5 for 2 bags (bags which contained 2 smores each). It cost our family £62 to see a few plastic Halloween toys, receive a pumpkin to take home, and put smores on the fire. It was not well organised and extortionate. We will be going to other Halloween events in the local area next year which offer more for much less.

Came to the restaurant here about 4 years ago and had a really nice meal and thought the place had a lovely atmosphere. We went again recently for a Friday steak night and wouldn't come back again. The steak was very overdone, they didn't have any prosecco or sparkling wine and they got part of our order wrong. The place smelled damp and just not very comfortable. Extremely quiet with no atmosphere. The whole place needs a revamp! It's a shame as it has so much potential.

These tours should stop until they clean the premises and the staff giving the tour. I drink their products and was looking forward to the experience but this was a disaster. The place was filthy tbh. I went to Hinch Distillery after my visit this week and it was sparklingly clean, staff in branded clothing and a very enjoyable experience. Unfortunately can’t say the same for this tour. At £25 plus booking fee he should have been on time, not a half an hour late btw.

Very badly signposted and as difficult to find (the entrance) - inside the grounds - as outside - in Hilden. The whole "Estate" seems run-down - and the many "confusing" buildings would all need a "lick of paint"!It took me a full five minutes after parking - to find the Restaurant Entrance. It's uninspiring and unattractive - and looks more life a Barn Entrance. However, it's a different story inside. The Restaurant is attractive in a rustic "kind of way". The spacing of tables is generous and distancing was easily maintained. I felt safe. Hygiene was good but tables didn't have individual hand cleansers.I was warmly welcomed and seated immediately I entered. I had only to order a drink - as I had chosen my Main dish and Desert - from the online menu - and had emailed this to the Restaurant - the previous day - as requested. A good idea - to obviate the need to handle a Menu.My wait time on my meal, however, was no quicker than if I had chosen it after arrival; reasonable, at around fifteen minutes. My Pork Belly, Champ and broccoli was attractively presented and was nicely cooked. It was tasty - but charged at £18:00 - whereas the online Menu stated £11.I didn't notice the discrepancy until I sat down to write this review. When I 'phoned, I was informed that the Facebook Page Menu was out-of-date and that they hadn't updated their own website since opening again after "Lockdown"!No apology and no offer of a refund! My Dessert, Rhubarb & Blueberry Crumble and Custard was nicely presented and tasty - but there was far more blueberry than rhubarb; the rhubarb was hard to identify. The small jug of custard was "mingy" and insufficient. If a waitress had returned to ask me if everything was ok (as they had done after my Main) - I would have asked for more! However, all staff were friendly and cheerful - and the atmosphere was homely. With the Government £10:00 off per person, the price of my lunch was reasonable (£15:75).It's unlikely that I'll be back, though.

Lovely venue friendly staff but unfortunately very poor food. The Hake was way over cooked and salted, the gnocchi had so much flour in it, that it was more like garlic bread. The pork belly was also way over cooked and very tough, too much salt and dry mash. The scallops were nice. It's been a while since I have not finished a meal in a restaurant but sadly on this occasion I could not finish the meal. At £15 and £18 for each dish I expect much better. I explained my issues with the food to the staff and to their credit they offered free desert and coffee but on this occasion I declined.

Wow where to start, from we arrived the staff made us feel unwelcome and unwanted. From starter to main meal was a whole 7 minutes. The food was,at best, luke warm, basicly cold food. Yes we were a party of 24 but we're a large family. The restaurant was empty apart a couple of tables so when they refused to serve alcohol for half an hour while they "got us sorted" was a bit strange. My mother and father in law wanted some wine with their meal, which most people do, and they weren't able to order a bottle until my wife intervened and got them a wine list. She had to tell a member of staff that her parents wanted wine with their meal so could they please serve them. Under staffed, but saying that the 2 female staff were excellent. Full credit to them. However, the owners should hang their heads in shame. When we questioned the £58 service charge they had added to the bill I was personally approached by the owner and interrogated as to why we didn't pay it. We always leave a tip but it's up to us what we pay based upon service( which was awful). Never be back! Cold room with no atmosphere. Over-priced cold food, service without a smile, much better value restaurants close by in Lisburn. Worst Xmas dinner we have ever been to.

Very high quality and certainly above standard Christmas fare one often gets at this time of the year. The quality of the beer was fantastic and very tasty. Great range of local brews. Small criticism would be the speed of service but this is clearly not a standard bar/hotel that attempts to ply its patrons with drink!!! Definitely worth a visit perhaps on a quieter weekend or evening to really enjoy the unique experience.

I visited with the Belfast Vegan Supper Group in November 2019. The vegetarian/vegan menu had a good few things on it but unfortunately only 1 vegan dessert (not a major complaint though). Some people opted for the soup starter and others had the orzo - both delicious. The chef offered to make some of the vegetarian mains into vegan mains which suited us perfectly. We had a variety of the mains including gnocchi, tagliatelle, roasted potatoes and Tofu and chickpea & quinoa salad. All very good and tasty but a little on the small side for some people’s taste. However my Gnocchi was perfect and I’ve always been a fan of quality over quantity. The waitress was helpful but wasn’t very familiar with the vegetarian menu. The restaurant was a little cold which isn’t surprising considering the age of the building. I will be back to try more things and I’ll be spreading the word about those vegan options.

I had two visits to the Tap Room in fairly quick session, the first time with my other half and the second time with friends. It would not have been my choice for the second trip, as it was pretty rubbish the first time, but hey ho it wasn’t up to me.

first visit with a friend for lunch, more signs needed to direct us to the Tap room, lovely restaurant, really nice decor, food really tasty, portion size excellent, slight disappointed with limited choice for dessert which we declined, only one member of staff working and she was kept pretty busy! Despite a few negatives we will return and also hope to sample The Hilden Brewery and Music festival!

Visited the Tap Room in June 2018 for lunch with some friends. Lovely setting and friendly staff but painfully slow service and tiny portions (both starters and main courses) ruined what could have been at great review. Just an extra member of staff and some extra food on the plate would have changed my review to at least 4 or even 5 out of 5. I would hope to go back and give a better review next time.

Went for lunch and it was great, had the soup and burger with smoked cheese and prosciutto. Service was great and food was really nice. Once we finished lunch we were able to move outside and have a few more drinks before getting the train back to Belfast

We had our wedding party at the tap room. They were very accommodating on the day and before to get ready. Loved the feel of the place and the food was awesome! (A lot of guests told us that their meal was tasty).

Visited the Tap Room at Hilden Brewery for the first time last night for dinner. The staff were very attentive, pleasant and polite. Ordered off the a la carte menu and the meal was first class. My husband had the sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection and I had the sea bass which didn't disappoint either. Good selection of starters and the sweet menu was delicious. Definitely a hidden gem of a restaurant in Lisburn will definitely be back .

Venue is brilliant. Particularly in the sun! Service was slow but they were very helpful. Food was just okay - burger was dry and tasted like it had been frozen before.

This is a little gem just twenty minutes by train from Belfast city centre. The setting is beautiful with a large courtyard and pretty gardens. We went for the bottomless brunch and the food was excellent and came with unlimited prosecco or beer. The service was great and they were happy for us to hang about and finish our beers in the garden. We will definitely be back!

Have heard good reviews about this place so my husband and I called in today for some lunch. Good food with scrumptious desserts. Pleasant service too from our server Julie who was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely return.

My Daughter had given me a voucher for my birthday last May which had expired some 3mths ago. I rang them up and explained about the voucher and asked them would they still honour it , not a problem was the reply so we booked a table last night for 4 people and I can only say that it was one of the nicest meals we have had in a long while. The restaurant was comfortable and the staff friendly and very courteous. I we definitely will be back again.

This is the third time we've dined in hilden brewery and it will not be the last! We normally don't write trip advisor reviews on restaurants because our expectations are so high few places would merit 5*. After our last meal I was shocked to see a few poor reviews over Christmas. I think hilden does intimate dining best and I wouldn't be put off that larger parties didn't rate it quite so highly. The setting is quaint, the food is top quality local produce, the meals are traditional at its best and the service is so personal you feel like a movie star. As for the portion sizes; I've never been able to finish a meal in hilden. The price of a meal is average for a meal in any restaurant. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend hilden to my family and friends and we cannot wait for our next excuse to go back!

We visited on a Saturday afternoon to try the bottomless brunch. We were met on arrival my a very pleasant young waitress who showed us to our seats. We both had 2 courses and enjoyed a copious amount of beer. The waitress even provided us with 2 pitchers as we where getting through it that quickly which was a pleasant surprise as I thought it was going to be gimmicky I was so wrong !! The food was incredible !!

We usually take visiting guests here as we live locally. The standard has always been first-class with a separate (and extensive) vegetarian menu, helpful and attentive staff and a great selection of the brewery's finest beers.

Over-priced Christmas menu with no other option available. If other menus not available update your website! Sorry but I don't want a Christmas menu on 24 November?! Decidedly average service - at times constantly asking questions but then staff disappear when needed. No atmosphere and very average food - overcooked dry burger. Won't be back.

We loved the decor and atmosphere of this restaurant as soon as we walked in. Tables were widely spaced and layouts were arranged differently to meet the needs of groups or couples. It was lovely being able to watch the chef and his staff at work. Staff in the restaurant were lovely and chatty making customers feel at home. We opted for the tasting menu but portions were more akin to a la carte size! Be warned the ‘snacks’ alone equate to a main course especially if you eat all the lovely bread! Our favourite course was the monkfish, closely followed by the raviolo and dessert. Venison was well cooked but a bit full of gristle as it was haunch. Everything was beautifully presented. As I was driving I enjoyed a great mock tail with 0% gin and Armagh Apple. Definitely will return to try the a la carte menu.

I visited the restaurant for an evening meal and found it very enjoyable. I was delighted that having a GF meal was not a problem.
