The best restaurants in North Eastern NI

Food was cold terrible standards. order from here all the time think it will be my last. waited 90 mins for freezing cold food. unacceptable

Been going here for years, the food has never disappointed, but lately the chips have suffered, as used to be real potatoes, unfortunately like most, the frozen has invaded, leaving taste a tad bit lacking. But that's the only downside, as for the rest, it's always up front. The service is and always was excellent.

Service was nice, the staff were very sweet. Food was great at an okay price, drinks very overpriced something like £3 for a small can of soda. Be VERY careful going to the toilets, even though there's a sign stating to watch out for the step, I still tripped TWICE going in and out of it.

Just ate the worst meal ever. Special fried rice, without the fried rice basically. Stodgy boiled rice and you could've literally counted the grains,there was so little of it. Full of vegetables,in a single carton, barely any thing else. The Peking ribs tasted nothing like it, very sharp taste of vinegar, practically no meat just fat.Basic spring rolls,no flavour, literally bland. Nothing nice about any of this food.The only positive was the lady that served is was very nice.

Had this place booked for three weeks they cancelled whilst on the ferry from Scotland. Book here at your own risk or rather don't book somewhere else. This hotel has been removed from hotels.com because it is unreliable.

Dropped stars as order was missing a fried rice didn't discover to home and rest would have been cold if we went back for it

This was my first time here in many years, and it was nice to find food still of excellent quality and value. Fast service and cordial atmosphere. Tried the hot and sour chicken for the first time (haven't seen that anywhere else) and certainly not the last time and it was scrumptious. I'm not a local so would never be a frequent customer, but I will most definitely return in the future.

What has happened to your pancakes. The original version was much nicer. Are you buying of sunblest???

Brilliant, been using for years, fantastic food and service.

We got a big order with family over to cover 8 people we went here for the first time as all the Chineses was closed that was close to us and we tried happy garden for the first time and evey single person was happy taking all little details of the order in to account.. curry was mild that we asked for,chips were well done that we asked,great service by the 2 girls at the counter,great service our family will be definitely back.

Amazing!!!! Will be our go to spot from now on!!! The Jal Jal, Chicken tikka masala and chicken bhiriani were all incredible. Lamb was cooked to perfection and the samosas were delicious!

It's best days are gone but this place has huge potential for the right owners.

Roast beef dinner was absolutely delicious!

Was gifted a voucher for a three course meal for two phoned last Friday to see if there was any availability and we had a table booked for 7.30 and I told the girl that I would be using a voucher for a 3 course meal for two. When we arrived the hotel and restaurant is now beautifully done up and is very impressive. We were seated and I let the server know that we were using the voucher and he left with it and came back and told us that on a Friday the voucher becomes monetary and covers up to £65 at this point we were seated and there were people seated around us so we didn’t want to cause a seen about it. So we just hoped the food would live up to the price…… unfortunately the food didn’t live up to the price the chilli chicken starter is just coated frozen chicken on some lettuce with some chilli sauce thrown cover it for £10.50 nothing outstanding or even cooked in house at all very disappointing. The braised rib of beef was lovely though I think it should’ve fell off the bone easier, my partner said he’s never had a burger and chips that was tasteless before ! I got the lemon tart with meringue for dessert which was not lemony at all all I could taste was meringue thankfully he liked the baked Alaska. So we went for a meal that should’ve been free other than drinks and had to pay more on top of the voucher. I have now checked and at no point when the person that bought us the voucher not us were made aware that we would only get a full 3 courses covered by the voucher on certain days and that I rang and the girl knew I was using the voucher had I been told at that point I wouldn’t have dined that evening. This is false advertising as the person buying the voucher thinks they purchasing a 3 course meal for 2 for the person to use when they please and this is not the case ! Haven’t eaten here in years and won’t be back sadly at least the hotel looks lovely but the food is not up to standard for the price point.
