We had a gift voucher to use so we decided to come for lunch. The decor is very nice with all the bottles etc. It was not too busy when we arrived but filled up well, which is a good sign. The staff were very helpful, attentive and pleasant. The food was excellent too with ample portions, and the voucher took the sting out of the slightly high prices, but that's what makes gifts nice. The only criticism was the coffee, which was bizarrely badly made and I'm not a coffee snob by any means. Otherwise we were very pleased with the experience.

Was gifted a voucher for a three course meal for two phoned last Friday to see if there was any availability and we had a table booked for 7.30 and I told the girl that I would be using a voucher for a 3 course meal for two. When we arrived the hotel and restaurant is now beautifully done up and is very impressive. We were seated and I let the server know that we were using the voucher and he left with it and came back and told us that on a Friday the voucher becomes monetary and covers up to £65 at this point we were seated and there were people seated around us so we didn’t want to cause a seen about it. So we just hoped the food would live up to the price…… unfortunately the food didn’t live up to the price the chilli chicken starter is just coated frozen chicken on some lettuce with some chilli sauce thrown cover it for £10.50 nothing outstanding or even cooked in house at all very disappointing. The braised rib of beef was lovely though I think it should’ve fell off the bone easier, my partner said he’s never had a burger and chips that was tasteless before ! I got the lemon tart with meringue for dessert which was not lemony at all all I could taste was meringue thankfully he liked the baked Alaska. So we went for a meal that should’ve been free other than drinks and had to pay more on top of the voucher. I have now checked and at no point when the person that bought us the voucher not us were made aware that we would only get a full 3 courses covered by the voucher on certain days and that I rang and the girl knew I was using the voucher had I been told at that point I wouldn’t have dined that evening. This is false advertising as the person buying the voucher thinks they purchasing a 3 course meal for 2 for the person to use when they please and this is not the case ! Haven’t eaten here in years and won’t be back sadly at least the hotel looks lovely but the food is not up to standard for the price point.

I haven't had a meal in Tullyglass for years, so we decided to give it a go. We had the two couse dinner and both courses were excellent. The staff in the dining room were very friendly and helpful, as my friend follows a gf diet and needed assistance with the menu. We will definitely be back again ,soon.

Large group of us went here to celebrate a birthday. Could not fault one single thing. Staff were brilliant and the menu/food also really good. There was a gentleman playing live music, not too loud and added to the great atmosphere. Would definitely come back.

I recently visited this restaurant with my wife. It was the first time we had been here since the refurbishment. I have to say it was just beautiful, we were really taken back how good it was. The food, service and atmosphere were just fantastic. I couldn't praise it enough - just see for yourself.

Went for afternoon tea but unfortunately not worth the £60 for two which was a birthday gift and we were really looking forward to. Bread and scones not fresh and only savory was a cream cracker. Staff were pleasant.

We booked a table at McAllisters for 7.30pm on Saturday 25th March. When we arrived I could see the restaurant was full and no one was near finishing their meals, we were seated in the very busy bar area right next to the singer, not ideal! We weren't offered drinks so my husband & nephew went to the bar, one barman on who was swamped with orders for the restaurant and people waiting at the bar, we eventually got our drinks, ordered the meal, which was very good, but for spending £300 for our night out I don't expect to be sat in the bar, if we'd wanted to do this we'd have gone to a pub and spent half the money. I understand they were very busy that night but if you don't have tables free do not take bookings, overall it was a very disappointing evening as we had booked this night out to be able to talk to each other without shouting over the bar noise and without being totally disrespectful to the poor guy singing to the very uninterest crowd. I did email Tullyglass but to date haven't had the courtesy of a reply. The only reason I'll be back.

We brought two guests for dinner and ordered three chicken meals and one burger. Everything was fine and the food and service was excellent until a group of 25 somethings descended en mass to watch the Great British Bake Off. They were loud and surrounded us, making us feel uncomfortable. The staff offered to move us to another part of the restaurant so we could finish our meal in relative peace. We were offered free beverages, but since only one of us was drinking alcohol, it was a cheap get out!! It was a pity and I don't blame the hotel, but I would have expected a discount on the bill at least. Perhaps next time we will try the Carvery!!!

My husband and I decided to go to this hotel for afternoon tea as he bought me vouchers for my birthday. He knew I loved afternoon tea and I have tried it in many places across the North. As I was looking forward to it I checked sample menus online and thought it looked great. We arrived today and the girl wasn't expecting us....she left us while she went to check my booking. Then she came back and had us sit for another 10 mins before seating us. There was no sign of a menu to let us know what we were getting. In other hotels they always provide menus so that we can decide which sandwiches we would like. We sat down and the waitress came and left us 2 plates with egg salad and ham sandwiches on it....she never spoke or explained what the soup was. All I could think of was what if I had an allergy to eggs (which runs in my family!!!) Then she set down the scones and sweet treats....again extremely unprofessional not explaining what was on the plate. That was at 2.10pm and at 2.30 we still had no one come to ask us how we are and if everything was OK! My husband had to ask for a glass of water and when we eventually got the waitress' attention we also asked for a cappuccino and latte to which she replied we have to pay extra. Every other place in the vicinity allows you to have whatever tea or coffee you want included in the price. The scone was rock hard and the bread stale. The waitress didn't even come to ask did we want to take the left over sandwiches home....I have never been in and out of a place for afternoon tea in 30-40 mins! I still have money left on my voucher and maybe some day I will return to use it if I thought the standard of service would improve. Very disappointed!

This was my first time here in many years, and it was nice to find food still of excellent quality and value. Fast service and cordial atmosphere. Tried the hot and sour chicken for the first time (haven't seen that anywhere else) and certainly not the last time and it was scrumptious. I'm not a local so would never be a frequent customer, but I will most definitely return in the future.

Just ate the worst meal ever. Special fried rice, without the fried rice basically. Stodgy boiled rice and you could've literally counted the grains, there was so little of it. Full of vegetables,in a single carton, barely any thing else. The Peking ribs tasted nothing like it, very sharp taste of vinegar, practically no meat just fat.Basic spring rolls,no flavour, literally bland. Nothing nice about any of this food. The only positive was the lady that served is was very nice.

We really enjoy the food from this Chinese but every time we order no matter the day or time, the delivery time is pathetic. Placed an order at 6:25pm with an expected delivery ‘by 7:20’. It’s now 8:20 and the app hasn’t updated the waiting time. I rang the shop and as always, the girl said it’ll be with us shortly it’s probably taking longer with the fog. I understand that, but an hour? 2+ hours for a Chinese is just silly. If you can’t meet customer demand, maybe don’t offer a delivery service or at least give a realistic time frame? No apology as usual from the girl on the phone. I understand they’re busy but it really is poor.. It is a lovely treat on the odd occasion but would be put off by this alone. Hopefully the food will arrive soon HOT and be worth the wait.
