The best restaurants in Carrickfergus North Eastern NI

They had great-looking quiche and carrot cake to tempt me. I went for the lasagne with side salad and a pot of tea. It was great. Their outside dining area is paved and in the first section of the courtyard that goes under a second arch to a bigger courtyard where The Talking Shop is. They get a maximum 5 out of 5 for their scores-on-the-doors hygiene rating. You can see Belfast Lough from their front windows. Over the road the play park was being renovated, so it was a building suite. All completed now. Set into their blue wall facing the sea they have a cute red postbox that’s a GR one. 1936 – 1952, yes I had to look that up.

Terrible. Half an hour wait for 5 items. They forgot to put one item on, rest of the food and been sitting in the warmer and was cold. Staff touching their faces and hair, no hair nets Weren't advised that baps have sesame seeds ( there is a sign to ask about allergens but for severe one like sesame, staff should be advising of the seeds) or no signs advising of sesame. Don't know of any chippy doing sesame seed baps. And the order was wrong. Toppings we hadn't asked for. .

Few drinks with the other half, great service and prices. Don't change!!!!

Great wee hotel, lovely food, Guinness and staff. The shower was next to useless but the whole experience was great.

Just had one of the most amazing pizza experiences, 'simply pizza ' Carrickfergus, and I'm not sure I'd want to share, as it's a pizza you'd want to keep for yourself. Ordering was so customer easy and friendly, as they tell you how long before it'll be ready for collection. It's a family run business, and it's run to a tee. As everyone is in sync with eachother. Fresh dough, freshly made pizza, and friendly service. We ordered a 16inch pepperoni, and it was absolutely delicious. Every bite was worth the journey, and I must say, if you don't give it a go, then it'll be your loss. Value and quality, is what you get, but if you don't taste, then you can only imagine. So if you want proof of the experience, then call in, but it would be better to phone order in first, as it's guaranteed to be really busy.

Discovered this place on a short break in Carrickfergus and it's my new favourite diner. We've have breakfast, lunch and dinner here and can't fault it at all. Really good portions, perfectly cooked food, and at a great price. Highly recommend the garlic cubed potatoes and the burgers.

Really brilliant tasting ice-cream, amazing choices of flavours. Friendly staff.

Peppered chicken goujons on mash with peppercorn sauce. This was just delish. Crispy coating, crispy onions. Mash was very good indeed, if a bit cool. Served with spring onions stirred in. Mild peppercorn sauce. It is not easy to serve good mash, and this was. Well done and thank you.

Very friendly and helpful and the food is great have to say will definitely be back and would recommend for anyone in the area to try it you will not be disappointed

Chicken burger, fish and goujons were absolutely fantastic. Looking forward to trying their pizzas and other items on the menu. Staff are very quicky and incredibly friendly. Only disappointing thing is the taco chip doesn't have mince.

I love ordering fries from here. Had another 10 piece fry today and it was amazing. The vegetable roll was different but it was the nicest vegetable roll I have ever had. I love this place, highly recommend.

This place does the best pizzas. Piping hot.delivery was very quick.best pizza I've had for a while.great value and staff very friendly.il definitely be getting from there again.

We had Shane as our waiter on this most recent visit to Papa Browns. What a spectacular gentleman; he was attentive and funny and we couldn’t speak highly enough of him. What a star
