The best restaurants in Micklegate York Yorkshire and The Humber

Oh wow! This place hits the spot in so so many ways! The service is brilliant (all the staff are super friendly, attentive and efficient) and the food is great. You might have to queue to get a table (we didn’t as we arrived fairly early) but the wait is well worth it. I had the avocado on sourdough bread (topped mine with two poached eggs) and it was fabulous-the kids had pancake stacks….light and fluffy with the best ever berries, and the son and his OH had the eggs Royale which they usually have. Luckily we visit often from Whitby and I think this will be a regular thing. Can’t wait to try an evening session…… I have to say I’m glad to have found somewhere in York that does great food at reasonable prices as we have ditched Betty’s for good (overpriced and mediocre) and Robinson’s will be our “go to” place from now on.

Just had 2 fantastic pizza from Dough Eyes - beautiful, flavourful and fresh pizza with a great selection of drinks. Busy but worth the wait.

Based on positive reviews I have this a try. The chicken was shredded and tasteless (reminded me of tuna) and the rest just wasn’t tasty.

Esperábamos una buena comida, ya que a menudo almorzamos en Remedy, pero la cena fue excepcional. Rivalizaba con todas las comidas veganas que hemos tenido en York y más allá. Tales platos con cada uno teniendo salsas distintas y sorprendentes. Fue una experiencia sublime y que pretendemos repetir muchas veces. This cafe is so much better than anywhere in the walls and is only a few mins away from the minster! I live round the corner and feel lucky to have such an amazing place to pop into. I’ve sampled brunch, lunch, coffee, cake and the hot chocs which are incredible! More than anything though I love this place for being welcoming without judgement, whether I’m passing for take away after a walk/run, popping in with friends or hiding in the corner solo. The team are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The prices are low for the quality and they have a great pay it forward scheme. Thank you for brightening up the Groves x

Estamos visitando a la familia aquí en York y hemos hecho de alma nuestro lugar de café favorito para visitar. Los precios son más bajos que en otros lugares, mejor chocolate caliente y cafés y tés. ¿La mejor parte? El ambiente y el servicio.

Gorgeous cafe right next to my beauticians, needed to kill 20 minutes, I popped in and was greeted so warmly and kindly, asked if I was staying in or out, I was staying in, asked if I would like a menu, I declined and asked for a decaf oat latte with caramel, I was sat and within minutes was served with a beautiful caramel decaf oat latte, the music is chilled out tunes, the decor wonderful, 10/10 5 stars will be back!

Excellent service, very friendly staff. Food was freshly made and very good. Lovely little place. Would definitely recommend & we will visit again

We went to collect our order from Roccos the place is very clean and tidy the food is cooked fresh I had Quattro Stagioni pizza which is very tasty my husband enjoyed his Pollo Al Peppe will definitely recommend and we will order again.

Fantástico rollo de desayuno. Estaba caminando desde Micklegate y vi este lugar, así que decidí probar un rollo de desayuno. ¡Qué hallazgo! El servicio de Chap fue muy agradable, y el rollo en sí fue increíble. Bacon cocinado perfectamente, huevo frito con la cantidad correcta de goteo. Absolutamente voy a volver a visitar.

What an absolute quality establishment. Visited for the first time today and it did not disappoint. Beautiful brunch, quality ingredients, coffee and wine, and the staff (especially Amy) were super warm, friendly and personable. The decor and ambience are bang on. Hope to return soon to sample other dishes and the on counter cakes look fabulous too. Totally recommend 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Lovely little cafe, amazing food and friendly service. Just a little bit out of the centre of town but definitely worth going.

We popped in for a quick pre-theatre lunch as we were passing and caught sight of the interesting menu next to the shop entrance. Our panini's were delicious and the hot drinks were served in the most gorgeous mugs. A cup of tea that was actually served piping hot - fabulous! We very much enjoyed our views from the relaxing and beautifully decorated first floor seating area. We intend to come back to properly explore the lovely items in the shop and visit the upper floor lounge too. A delightful place!
